I was surprised to hear that he speaks with that gangster ghetto accent that a lot of young people seem to have these days

 

I just wasn't expecting that when I watched him being interviewed!

it is only when he has a drink, most of time it is fairly normal

He doesn't at all! Fairly articulate, well spoken bloke.

It's subtle but that accent is definitely there

 

I find that people who can't spot it usually speak in the same ganster style themselves!

Like I've said in another post, It's only subtle but it's there

 

It's a lot different to the mainstream southern or cockney

 

Definately a younger generation way of speaking 

 

It's a bit difficult to replicate it on a forum so I suppose that's that!   :)

Not sure many linguists would agree with you on that one.
