Weller in Tights Posted 17 August 2014 Posted 17 August 2014 I suppose this really is a matter of opinion, but just wondered where people think the best view is from. Basically I've always stood up at the back. When The 'Walkers' opened I was at the back of the L block. I liked the high view but did feel my view of play at the Kop end wasn't so great. Me and a few others moved over to the back of the 'N' block a few years ago. Although a bit to the left of the goal, I really like this view. Get a good idea of the patterns of play. Yesterday due to a knee operation, I was on crutches and sat on the front row of 'N' block. Although it felt I was part of the players celebrations after Ulloa's goal ( They genuinely seemed to run over to me!!) I have to say the view was awful. No idea of perspective. So where is the perfect view? Half way line on the back row?
Gary Eatfood Posted 17 August 2014 Posted 17 August 2014 I spent a season sitting on the half-way line in the West Stand about 10 rows back and the view was brilliant. Really felt close to the action while still having that overall perspective. It was also close enough to hear the players and management during the game (because we all know that there's no atmosphere in the West Stand).
DennisNedry Posted 17 August 2014 Posted 17 August 2014 What Lavrentis said. Half way up on the half way line. It's like the view you get from a TV game, only a bit closer. At away games I love the standing and atmosphere but do sometimes miss having the great view I have at Home games.
Bert Posted 17 August 2014 Posted 17 August 2014 Low down behind the goal is the worst. Anywhere mid-high level is fine but I feel you get the best all round view from either the east or west stand.
FoxInTheBirstallBox Posted 17 August 2014 Posted 17 August 2014 Half way line, half way up, west standLove having the great view for home game to really appreciate the game. Then go crazy crazy at away games
ScouseFox Posted 17 August 2014 Posted 17 August 2014 Good view from mid way up in sk1 yeah i'm half way up sk1 too, more towards the kop than the corner though. good enough in there. i sat on row 2 or 3 at home once, was a different experience but not as fun. was great from the 2 or 3 minutes the game spent in front of you, you feel even more involved, but as soon as it's 15/20 yards away you can't really tell what's going on.
Countesthorpe Fox 1884 Posted 17 August 2014 Posted 17 August 2014 High up in SK1 I think is good as you see the whole of the pitch but don't have to really move that much
thybluefox Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 I sit in row AA above the away dugout. I miss out on the standing and singing, but I do enjoy being able to see patterns of play and positioning really easily. I get my fix of atmos. at away games...
Finnegan Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Upper middle in the corner. Really like it, bit of a stretch to see the far end but generally get a great view of most action. I sat in the old North Enclosure at millennium stadium, that's high behind a goal. Unbelievable view, loved it up there.
SystonFox Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 I always enjoy sitting behind a goal. Mid to high level cos then you get a good range of the play and see where the next ball should usually be etc. Only troubles are when the ball goes up in the air you never have a clue which direction it's going for the first split seconds. Same with snap shots across goal, can look like it's just whizzed past the post when infact it almost hits the corner flag haha
Bayfox Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 I would say it's just personal preference. I love my view, back row of sk1, we only really picked the back row when we moved grounds, as we knew standing up would not obstruct anyones view. However, I have always had a preference for watching from behind a goal than a side on view, no idea why. Think it's due to the close up nature of the action when the ball is in that penalty area. I like the fact that being high up gives you a look at where the space is on the pitch. I had some very positive comments last year from people who sat lower down saying the same thing. However my mate took his lad and he loved being down the front close to the players but for me I hate watching a load of legs and ankles running around.
Guest MattP Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 About ten rows up in the half way line is an absolutely superb view of the game.
Finnaldo Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Half way up the corners are my favourite. Get a perspective of the whole pitch.
MPH Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 wherver I can clearly see fanni is the best view for me....
Hollism Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 For the Man City Fa cup game a few wars ago I was sat the row behind a load of academy players. Can't remember which row it was but it was probably the most expensive seats in the ground. The view was incredible but I'd much rather be in L or K block 3/4 of the way up
Collymore Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Low down behind the goal is the worst. Anywhere mid-high level is fine but I feel you get the best all round view from either the east or west stand. Its an awful view for the other end of the pitch. I often think "why is he not shooting" but realise he's 40 yards out when I look at the giant screen. It's a bit of gamble because if youre lucky enough to get some important goals in your goal there's no better seat in the house.

Soar Fox Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 I don't know why anyone would choose to sit on the very front row behind a goal. The view is terrible and you can't see any of the action at the other end.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Just past half way up in the corner for me, good perspective of everything Got stuck behind the goal in the family stand about row F for Leeds last season. Couldn't see a thing, no goals scored and constant fear of being smacked. Hated it Also not a fan of sitting in the first 4 or 5 rows, don't get the depth perception at all (which is why Nige going up in the stands for a better view adds up)
