Gary Eatfood Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 What a goal! Amazing off the ball movement, and good finish. The defending was laughable though.
AKCJ Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUFMANbcVLM&feature=youtu.be The defending.
ScouseFox Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 once riyad learns how to celebrate he'll be up there with ronaldo and messi imo
Max Power Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 once riyad learns how to celebrate he'll be up there with ronaldo and messi imo He's got no idea has he? The state of that awkward high five with Pearson at Hull.
ScouseFox Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 He's got no idea has he? The state of that awkward high five with Pearson at Hull. always just looks a bit bemused at what's just happened
Nick Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 once riyad learns how to celebrate he'll be up there with ronaldo and messi imo He ran back looking more like he was offside than he'd scored - like that though to be honest. Humble. Goal was well taken but defending was dire. As it stands he won't be home for a while.

Torten Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 once riyad learns how to celebrate he'll be up there with ronaldo and messi imo He doesn't know how to celebrate a goal from a set piece.
Danizen Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 http://www.lcfc.com/news/article/mahrez-makes-appearance-in-algeria-loss-2222635.aspx Mahrez getting noshed off Reminds me of last year when someone posted an Irish news article on here that was along the lines of, 'Conrad Logan's Leicester City Promoted To Premier League' as if he was our star player!
jimmeh Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 The standard of African football seems to have got worse from the bits i have seen. Its that Bad i can't actually watch it.

Guest MattP Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 The standard of African football seems to have got worse from the bits i have seen. Its that Bad i can't actually watch it. It's been declining since the 90's, the only continent that is going backwards in terms of football.
lgfualol Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 Mahrez subbed off, that's my cue to stop watching.
Corky Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 The standard of African football seems to have got worse from the bits i have seen. Its that Bad i can't actually watch it. African football said the same thing about your posts.
Unabomber Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 African football said the same thing about your posts. Except they used a lower case b and an upper case I.
Guest MattP Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 This means he's pretty much going to be out for Palace now as well doesn't it given it's likely they'll have Guinea or Mail in the Quarters?
LCCFox96 Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 Its bitter sweet really isn't it. Delighted for Mahrez and its brilliant to see him doing well at international level but I would prefer to have him back in the fold sooner rather than later. We did get off lightly with Schlupp returning though so we can't complain too much.
Guest Bilo Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 It's been declining since the 90's, the only continent that is going backwards in terms of football. Remember Pele saying an African team would win the World Cup by 2000. I'd be reluctant to back an African team to win it before 2100 watching this shambles.

There are a select few nations that usually do fairly well. I agree they are a long way off winning it though.

MC Prussian Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 It's been declining since the 90's, the only continent that is going backwards in terms of football. Has it ever gone forward? Anyway, only five or six continents to choose from to start with.
ADK Posted 28 January 2015 Posted 28 January 2015 To be fair to Pele that was after the African sides did well in an U21 tournament, it's just it turned out they were all about 30 years old.
reynard Posted 28 January 2015 Posted 28 January 2015 Has it ever gone forward? Anyway, only five or six continents to choose from to start with. You obviously don't recall the exploits of Zaire in 1974. I seem to recall them losing every match including one 9-0. They even lost to Scotland! There's no doubt African football has made massive strides forward since the 1970s. The fact they now have so many players playing in top leagues around Europe also demonstrates that. However, the quality level does seem to have stagnated in the last few years.
