SlaneyLCFC Posted 19 January 2015 Posted 19 January 2015 We should re-ignite the interest for slimani if the supposed further interest for okazaki fades away.
filbertway Posted 20 January 2015 Posted 20 January 2015 http://www.lcfc.com/news/article/mahrez-helps-steer-algeria-to-victory-2214794.aspx? "Mahrez helps steer Algeria to victory" I love the man, but the only way he helped that victory was by being taken off the pitch.
Gio Posted 23 January 2015 Posted 23 January 2015 Honestly can't see Algeria getting too far in this competition. Despite having so many individual quality players they don't seem to play overly well together, barely created any chances against Ghana from what i saw. Mahrez shouldn't be played on the left, has looked a bit clueless on the left for Algeria
foxfanazer Posted 23 January 2015 Posted 23 January 2015 Can't see them qualifying for the knockouts niw to be honest. Could have him back sooner than expected
MPH Posted 23 January 2015 Posted 23 January 2015 Mahrez with one of those defence splitting passes to Kramaric. Oh dear God the anticipation......
Torten Posted 23 January 2015 Posted 23 January 2015 Algeria lost... I thought they looked like the best African team bar Ivory Coast as well

st albans fox Posted 23 January 2015 Posted 23 January 2015 Algeria lost... I thought they looked like the best African team bar Ivory Coast as well They don't beat Senegal and he's back for palace!
sylofox Posted 23 January 2015 Posted 23 January 2015 They don't beat Senegal and he's back for palace! Fingers x But bet he gets a rest for a week when he gets back.
Benguin Posted 23 January 2015 Posted 23 January 2015 http://www.lcfc.com/news/article/mahrez-makes-appearance-in-algeria-loss-2222635.aspx Mahrez getting noshed off
lcfcfoz Posted 24 January 2015 Posted 24 January 2015 If this happen's, or even a draw and Ghana beat South Africa on Tuesday, surely Riyad Marhez will be in the squad to face Man Utd on the Saturday. Fingers crossed this happen's, could be a key player for this game on the counter attack.

lgfualol Posted 24 January 2015 Posted 24 January 2015 I wanted Algeria to win but because they didnt start Mahrez yesterday I just want him back now.
MooseBreath Posted 24 January 2015 Posted 24 January 2015 If they go out Tuesday I'd imagine they'd hold some kind of squad debrief on the Wednesday and hopefully he be back Wednesday night (having had a day off training) and back here for training on thursday. Should make the bench at least.

Should make the bench at least. Would live this but I'm fairly sure he'll be given a day or two off which will mean not training which will ultimately mean no contention of making the squad. Would love him to be ready for Palace.

Would love him to be ready for Palace. Maybe but physically I don't see why he would have to have any more days off training, especially if he hasn't been playing much. Mentally I'd hope he'd rather train so he has a shot of playing at Old Trafford, it's not like we're rushing him back for a shift down the mines, he should be relishing the opportunity.
AKCJ Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 Should Algeria fail to qualify from group C of the AFCON (distinct possibility after poor performances against South Africa and Ghana) then surely he'll be available to play on Saturday. Algeria play Senegal and Ghana play South Africa. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30891881 The papers are all talking about Man City and Ivory Coast's Yaya Toure and Wilfried Bony probably returning if they don't quality so why not Riyad? Would be a welcome boost, that's for sure.
Kitchandro Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 With Schlupp being the next Gareth Bale I don't think we'll need him.
AKCJ Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 Algeria will win I won't be backing them. They were awful against Ghana, don't even think they had a shot on target. They need to beat Senegal because Ghana will beat South Africa.
ScouseFox Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 i think they'll qualify, and even if they get knocked out i'd be very surprised if he made his way straight back into our starting eleven after nearly 4 weeks away.
kingcarr21 Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 i wouldnt rush him back into the squad anyway. Albrighton and Knockaert have both played well on the right since hes gone. Let him come back and see how he is in training.
filbertway Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 Algeria don't seem to be massively up for this tournament, or certainly didn't seem it against South Africa, hopefully it's because they all want to get out of that country and back to their cushty lives in Europes top leagues. I'm all over Senegal tonight however, so they will probably cruise through.
SMX11 Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 No chance, no need to rush him back and risk injury if they do go out.
