ImBlue Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/28983784 Quite damning in my opinion for a club that claims to do business the right way. Looks like we have used a very genuine guy, and very genuine straightforward well run club to get another deal done. Leaves a bad taste in my opinion.

Guest Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 It leaves a bad taste even though you don't know what happened definitely? That's Rosler's opinion not McArthur's.
Harry - LCFC Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 Suspect he was just plan B. We needed to get the transfer moving in case Cambiasso didn't sign. Turns out he did so there was no need to continue pursuing McCarthur.
AdamN Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 "The chairman made a decision to accept a bid from Leicester in terms of valuation but we didn't accept the pay structure," said Rosler. "Then Leicester left James McArthur in limbo. So they were the ones that didn't agree with the terms of the deal, but we were the ones that left him hanging? Not sure how that works...
Swarles Barkley Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 No not at all. If that stupid cvnt whelan hadnt blabbed his never closing mouth it wouldnt have been such a big deal
Captain... Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 Leicester never confirmed anything, Whelan started making announcements in public, not us. If we had agreed a price but not a pay structure then Whelan hadn't accepted our offer and shouldn't have announced that he had. We have released zero information about Mcarthur it has all come from Whelan, I suspect Whelan knew it wasn't quite all confirmed but announced it as being so, and praising our conduct to ensure it went through as we were massively over valuing the player. Geoff Peters said repeatedly on Twitter and on here that our offer hadn't been accepted.
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 He wouldn't have been whinging if they had screwed another million out of Palace after talking about it in the press!
davieG Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 Do people still believe everything they read in newspapers?
Guest Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 Do people still believe everything they read in newspapers? No it's Twitter these days that everyone believes.
Fox Ulike Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 Well let’s be honest here we haven’t exactly covered ourselves in glory over the McArthur deal. It seems clear we were just forcing Cambiasso to make a final decision one way or another. Ultimately it all stems from Cambiasso fvcking us about for a month. Let’s not pretend otherwise just because Cambiasso is now one of our own.
Matt Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 At the end of the day Dave Whelan came out after rejecting our 1st offer and said 'He can go for the right price', now i'm not being funny but what does that say to James McArthur? How must he feel? What kind of position is he in hearing that statement? We did come in with a better offer and it has presumably broke down, whether that be due to Cambiasso finally making a decision, we don't know. I'm with Pearson when he says things should be kept quiet for this reason, People (Including me) got the arse because the Cambiasso saga dragged on for so long and without sounding OTT he's got that hanging over him now, should he not 'hit the ground running' or not be as good as he's hyped up to be (Which goes without saying I hope he does and is) it's a ready made moan to have with him and ready made arguement that did he perhaps really want to come anyway, anyway i'm going off on a tangent (That will probably cause arguement) and it all remains to be seen, likewise this James McArthur situation is abit messy for Wigan sake all thanks to Dave Whelan going to the media saying James McArthur can go for the right price, almost showing him the door, it could have all been averted or atleast kept private/quiet if Whelan hadn't spouted his mouth off. It might be abit boring for the fans, and it's nice reading something and finding something out from a ITK before it happens (When the information is actually true ) but I personally, like Pearson would prefer things on the quiet and think you would perhaps be able to pull things off more smoothly, productively and succesfully for all parties involved.
Babylon Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 Errr if you don't accept the pay structure, you don't accept the bid. Secondly, we can do what the hell we like. Thirdly he wasn't used, if Cambiasso hadn't accepted our offer last minute then we might have gone back and put in another offer. People on here will seemingly find something to moan about everything. Had we not lined up another option we'd have had people moaning that there was no plan b etc. We do what's right for Leicester nobody else, if Wigan want to broadcast everything to the world that's up to them.
Mark_w Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 Players (their agents anyway), use clubs all the time. So I don't really care.
stevebrock Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 exactly who cares! and does anybody Well let’s be honest here we haven’t exactly covered ourselves in glory over the McArthur deal. I am sorry but this is totally unfounded - we will never know the reason why the Cambiasso deal stalled and stalled - only the club , Pearson and Cambiasso will know this!
C-man Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 I think it's a shame because I would have liked JM as well as Cambiasso but we did absolutely nothing wrong here. We could put a bid of £1bn for Messi but I wouldn't expect Barca's president to accept and tell the world before he's asked how we are going to pay. Whelan is totally responsible for this by trying to whore McArthur out for the highest price. Idiots.

Isn't almost everything on here opinions? If we only spoke in facts from the club, this place wouldn't have much information would it?

Jon the Hat Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 Whelan is a tit, and it seems his manager is too. If they were concered for the player they would have kep their gobs shut in the first place. They are simply covering themselves here.
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 We made numerous lower offers for McArthur and they were rejected, the longer they drag out to get more money means we have more time to bring in other players. It was splashed out in all the papers that we were looking at other players in that position so they knew we were looking to get Cambiasso in.
