Leicester's next England player?

Correct, Carl Jenkinson and Wilfried Zaha can still play for Finland and Ivory Coast, respectively, because the only game they have played for England so far is against Sweden in a friendly.

In fact, Diego Costa was capped for Brazil 2 times before he changed allegiance and decided to play for Spain instead.

Surprised no-one's mentioned Giggs. Surely the most famous example. Played for England u-21s.

Also surprised about Diego Costa. Is that really true? I didn't think you could change nations once you got your first cap.

This and the fact that he's not on the same level as Rooney/Welbeck/Sturridge/Lambert.

Rooney/Welbeck/Lambert as goal scoring strikers are not on another level. Rooney is on another level as the number 10 yes but the other 2 are shite.

Sturridge - yes your right...

But other than him in England's number 9 shirt.... Who's a better option than Vardy? I honesty can't think!

Vardy is electric and gets the team playing to his tempo... I personally think he would do pretty good.

Would be a well deserved call up as well from how he's blossomed from non league to being one of the best players in a that won the Championship.

there's no reason why Roy won't give them a chance.

There is, we are not one of the big clubs. The selection policy for England has been rubbish. It is, are you English? Do you play for a 'big' club? They don't ask if you are any good.

We should probably wait for him to actually play a full match in the premier league before judging him against players like rooney, welbeck, lambert and sturridge,

I have confidence that vardy can do it in the premier league and possibly at international level but at the moment he is unproven at a high level so doesn't deserve a call up  until he at least scores a few goals in the premier league.

Liam Moore will have a great chance if he continues to play well for us and START for England under 21's regular.

As for Vardy, for me its all down to goals. If he plays and scores regular then it will be hard for Woy to leave him out. Withoutn the goals, i cant see it.

Drinwkater/James are both 50/50, again depends on consistency. The position they play is harder to be recognised, a bit like Delph. Can play well without beign stand out to others.

The Southampton lads managed to show they can jump from league 1 to Prem and get in the England squad with hard work and consistency

Danny will be in and captaining England before the end of the season.

Can't see how you guys miss the class easing from his every move.

Danny then bossing the England midfield will give Hodgson the cohones to bring in James, Vardy and Moore and Leicester will be the most represented team in the England starting 11.

Well....

Moore unquestionably, think he is the only one who will be looked at whilst playing for us sadly.

agree....yet ive got mixed feelings here. It would be nivce for Hodgson to start looking around a bit more, and it should be an honour to pay for your country. Yet if I'm honest I dont want a key player to get some injury through which could put him out. I think a lot of clubs and players thinks the same way these days - witness 'Arrys comments last night about the dire England performance

Look at Shawcross if he played for a BIG club he would of been a England regular by now

I'm old enough to remember Gordon Banks making his debut, and I can also remember how proud of him I was.

I would suspect that Moore will be our next England international, as he possesses the quality and charisma, of an ideal international.

This season will tell us a great deal about our players, and it is possible that their is a another gem in our midst.

Trying to remember the last City player to play for England got us wondering who might be the next. Drinkwater? Vardy? Liam Moore? They'd all be more lively than most of the bunch running around tonight.

Liam Moore. The fact he was earning high praise from the England set up while playing in the championship says something of their intentions for him. If he can keep his level of current form up I can see him being included within the next couple of seasons. He always has had the makings of a top centre half and those attributes, like pace, strength and reading the game have developed well since breaking into the team

If players like Fabian Delph playing at Villa can earn a call up I also see no reason why Drinkwater couldn't soon rather than later either. Marc Albrighton was mooted for a call up whilst a youngster at Villa too.
