ktfox59 Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 Just want to say that pre season I was very vocal with my thoughts on the whole Cambiasso deal. Whether he was going to be here for the right reasons. Whether he could or would put in the shift and cut it. I want to apologise to Estaban for a single doubt. He is a great talker of the game. Thoroughly charming man, but most of all, an absolute player on the pitch. Am delighted to be wrong in my views and come here to say so.
dedlock Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 I don't know what NP/Walsh did or said to persuade EC that we were the best option post Inter but the have acquired some player. After a game and a half his class and influence are clear...................a masterstoke to secure a master player.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 He decides where his next pass goes before he even receives the ball. Great at organising us as well. Shame he's lost a bit of pace, which showed at times, but bit harsh to be critical of that. Glad he decided to come here and take us to the next level! I didn't notice an overwhelming lack of pace whatsoever, either way his brain is so sharp it pretty much compensates for it.
cjslcfc Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 I didn't notice an overwhelming lack of pace whatsoever, either way his brain is so sharp it pretty much compensates for it. Just every now and again was stretching for things and someone went past him a little easily. None of that matters to me though because the rest of the package is brilliant. Class in every way
Larry_LCFC Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 For some reason, I just feel more confident and safe when hes on the pitch. Hes like Gandalf. - A crazy old magician with plenty of tricks up his sleeve.
Finchy Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 Absolutely delighted he scored today, what a legend. It's a joy to see him in a Leicester City shirt.
sdb Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 When that strike hit the back of the net... One of my fave ever lcfc moments
DennisNedry Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 Looked good today but Drinkwater edged him.
Dan Gliballs Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 Quoted from what I said in the player ratings thread, as it's more appopriate in here anyway. Any doubts I had about Cambiasso's attitude towards playing for us are now far out the window.I loved the way he was interacting with the squad prior to kickoff, and acting like a captain on the pitch with players and a club he's been with for a matter of weeks. Totally commited, totally deserves his starting place, top drawer. His goal celebration spoke alot of his attitude towards his club.
21st Century Fox Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 I didn't notice an overwhelming lack of pace whatsoever, either way his brain is so sharp it pretty much compensates for it. He has that vision that World Class players never seem to lose. The amount of times he could just pick out a team mate with a pass and instinctively gauge the best option to either ease the pressure off us or to start a counter was astonishing.
sdb Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 Looked good today but Drinkwater edged him. Drinkwater is just something else though...
Daz93 Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 The place went nuts when he scored, the scenes were terrific. Never witnessed anything like it. This guy is the real deal. Everything I hoped and more. Magic.
johnny the fox Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 tell you what, with all he has achieved in his career he got a real buzz scoring the equaliser today..good for both him and the club..
Haydos Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 Like others have said, he was one step ahead of a lot of players on the pitch today. Some class touches and passes today, looks very controlled along with Drinky. Chuffed that he started today.
jonthefox Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 Anyone got a vid of the cambiasso chant?.
Sir Fynwy Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 Just spent the evening in the pub with Leo and Cambiasso, really nice guys out with their families post game.
EGBFitness Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 Weren't too sure before he signed but so far so good. Still early days but has put in 2 solid shifts and was good to see him score and look so emotional.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 You can tell Drinkwater loves playing with him and learning from him so much. Joyous.
Out Foxed Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 tell you what, with all he has achieved in his career he got a real buzz scoring the equaliser today..good for both him and the club.. this really stood out for me. this isn't a job just to collect a paycheck.
Tielemans63 Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 Hammond has done really well in the games he's played but a midfield three of Cambiasso, Drinky and James is the stuff jizzy dreams are made of.
Sir Fynwy Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 Hammond has done really well in the games he's played but a midfield three of Cambiasso, Drinky and James is the stuff jizzy dreams are made of. Exactly, when we play those 3 together on a regular basis we'll see exactly how good we are, King and Hammond have done really well though.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 We're very blessed to have our fringe players (like Dean Hammond) still have a desire to run themselves into the ground for us, a trait virtually all Pearson signings seem to have.
