Rincewind Posted 9 October 2014 Posted 9 October 2014 not even thought bout it but I have some bottle of winw I never gave out last year.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 9 October 2014 Posted 9 October 2014 Mum's, dad's and brother's birthdays all fall in the first week of December - I have to do two Christmas shops every pissing year!
Tincy Posted 9 October 2014 Author Posted 9 October 2014 October. I know, I was the kind of guy who would do it Christmas eve half pissed up, but with age/mrs I like to be prepared a couple of months in hand, and have a stress free December not worrying about buying presents.
kingcarr21 Posted 9 October 2014 Posted 9 October 2014 Me and the wife do the Park xmas vouchers every year. We get £300 each and im picking the wifes up from post office tonight as they failed delivery yesterday. So will make a start over the next few weekends then mine come through mid November to finish the xmas shopping off. Got my daughters bday Oct 23rd and my sons New Years Day so £600 worth of vouchers comes in handy to cover all xmas prezzies and Bday's.
hairy Posted 9 October 2014 Posted 9 October 2014 Best to get in there now before things creep up in price

Fatty Arbuckle Posted 9 October 2014 Posted 9 October 2014 for the 1st time ever I have already brought some stuff for the kids. normally I don't bother until after dec 7th. That's pretty specific stuff....how come the 7th?
Buzzell Posted 9 October 2014 Posted 9 October 2014 I usually leave it until the last minute every year but hoping to do some soon. Would rather have a stress free December rather than rushing around.
Bayfox Posted 9 October 2014 Posted 9 October 2014 That's pretty specific stuff....how come the 7th? my bday. normally refuse to do anything Christmas related until then. shopping, tree etc but kids have made me soft
ousefox Posted 9 October 2014 Posted 9 October 2014 Can't even remember the last Christmas present I bought. The whole concept seems to have totally left our house now my sister and I are older. Couldn't give a shit about it now. I'm always surprised how caught up in it people get. Maybe once I have kids it'll change again.

Trav Le Bleu Posted 9 October 2014 Posted 9 October 2014 If the dramatic jump in parcels I've delivered the past 2 weeks is anything to go by, people have definitely started.

Probably the only time of the year where our family spend the whole day together.
HitchinFox Posted 9 October 2014 Posted 9 October 2014 Picked up my first present today - got the official biography of Harold Larwood for the old man. Hardback from Poundland. The book's won all sorts of awards (William Hill Sports Book of the Year, best biography at British Sports Books Awards). Done well there...if you've got family into cricket I'd look out for it!

HitchinFox Posted 9 October 2014 Posted 9 October 2014 will you be getting your mother 10 brillo pads for a pound for her present? Didn't think of that. Going back tomorrow.
Rob1742 Posted 9 October 2014 Posted 9 October 2014 Great Christmas shopping ideas 1. London - do a bit of shopping, not much though, then go and have a bottle of champagne at the bar on the top floor of the Hilton Hotel late afternoon as it turns dark. If you are there when Winter Wonderland is on, then pop over the road and wander round there. 2. Standard Christmas Shopping - Milton Keynes. They have a great display in their shopping centre, including a few rides that makes our Town Hall look a joke. Really nice display that makes you get in the Christmas spirit and you can get all your shopping done. 3. Bath - if the Christmas market is on, well worth going. Great selection of independent shops as well as all the big names. A really nice place to be at Christmas.
johnny the fox Posted 9 October 2014 Posted 9 October 2014 Starting mine at the weekend! Anyone started/finished? Yip.. funny thing is I bought a case of champers today ..on offer from Tesco. half of the presents already, job done.

Yes love London at Christmas, I like to stay at the Hilton at wembley though, and get the tube down to, winter wonderland which is great if you have kids
Filbert_Ross Posted 9 October 2014 Posted 9 October 2014 Started this morning, got my dad a Joy Division book to get the ball rolling.
ousefox Posted 9 October 2014 Posted 9 October 2014 Really? I love Christmas and I'm 25. Probably the only time of the year where our family spend the whole day together. Thankfully I get to spend a lot of time with my family so don't need to use xmas as an excuse to see them. Would much rather spend the money on something else. We've gone on holiday on xmas day before which I would much rather do than the traditional stuff and the planes are much cheaper! I'm just not a fan of winter in general with the short days and Christmas seems to be the main event so I'm just not that bothered.
