elangLCFC Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 was just thinking how rarely we try to execute pre-planned routines like other teams do and was wondering what people's thoughts were on that, especially as we haven't been great in the air
Stadt Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 It's Stowell's job isn't it? AC Milan have a specialist set piece coach, we need one.
Monsell1976 Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 We have been poor at set pieces, both attacking and defending for years now.
Unabomber Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 We've got a routine it's called **** everything up.
Bert Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 They've also got the "take it short and waste it" routine.
Stadt Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 hit the first manAlso Nugent and De Laet's crossing.
Dan Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 Our set pieces are so bad they're almost embarrassing.
ScouseFox Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 we're just shit at literally ****ing everything
Fox92 Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 Last time a free kick of ours impressed me was Joey Gudjonsson away at Stoke.

Leicester Lass Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 Delivery from Matty James isn't good enough at the minute, no pace on the ball at all, just floated crosses that are easy to defend. I don't understand why Cambiasso didn't take some corners from our right hand side yesterday? We had so many out-swingers which ended up about 12-15 yards away from goal, it's going to take a very good header to score from that distance.
lgfualol Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 We may as well just do 'own man appeals' every time we get a free kick in their half.
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 Our set pieces are diabolical. Love or hate Pearson and his coaching team, there is no excuse for serving up the utter dross they do. It's literally as if we just don't practice set pieces.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 My biggest worry is us defending set pieces, we seem intent on having everyone in the box with no one to chase it down once it is cleared.
deep blue Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 Gudjonsson's was better. Someone noted on another thread that one of the pundits on motd highlighted the criminal lack of movement by our target players for freekicks around the oppo box. It must be our coaching staff that are falling short in this respect.
LCFC Rennie Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 Prefer it when Cambiasso takes free kicks to Matty James.
ealingfox Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 It is embarrassing really and will probably see us down if we dont improve, both attacking and defending them. I reckon the largest proportion of goals go in from set-pieces, it's real easy way for promoted sides to get goals and we're just horribly naive about them. Look at Stoke, when they came up set-pieces alone kept them up.
LCFCFOX6190 Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 We could literally stay up from becoming a threat from set pieces. Then again our players aren't the biggest, but we should be doing far better at attacking and defending set pieces.
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 I actually wonder what we do on the training field. Schmichael still routed to his line and dosent come to claim a thing, we still aren't dangerous or creative from set peices, we still can't defend set peices and we still can't finish!
LCFC Rennie Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 Wasyl gives more of a threat from corners than Moore.
