AKCJ Posted 30 March 2015 Posted 30 March 2015 I never get this argument. Scoring tap ins, that's what a good striker does. How many goals did Van Nistelrooy score from outside the area? Our very own Lineker was a master of it. ...Which was my original point...
AKCJ Posted 30 March 2015 Posted 30 March 2015 Scores tap in Well that's clearly wrong from the daily mail as if you watch the link above he scores 5 from outside of the area. 4 if you don't include the heavy deflection of the villa player. It's his Premier League goals. I don't watch the Europa League or the League Cup so I wouldn't know what goals he's scored in those competitions.
Lionator Posted 31 March 2015 Posted 31 March 2015 The same media and pundits who are bigging him up will be the same ones who will rip him apart when inevitable dip in form comes. I hate the media.
Fox92 Posted 31 March 2015 Posted 31 March 2015 Another reason why we fail is because once an English lad has a decent season they all talk as if he's going to be the next big thing. Kane has had a great season, nobody can deny that, but it's one season at the minute. If he does it consistently over seasons then I'm sure he will be worth a bit for Spurs, but £100million at this minute in time!?
Stadt Posted 31 March 2015 Posted 31 March 2015 That's got to be a joke. He'll get injured and score 12 goals a season for the rest of his career
Manwell Pablo Posted 31 March 2015 Posted 31 March 2015 That's got to be a joke. He'll get injured and score 12 goals a season for the rest of his career I am actually starting to think this is what half of you lot want. Are we all THAT bitter that we have wish ill on a young English goal scorer who could be leading the line for his country for the next decade if he keeps this form up, just because he had a bit of a shit loan spell here aged 19. (Finners can be forgiven being Welsh, double whammy for him)

Stadt Posted 31 March 2015 Posted 31 March 2015 Of course I want him to do well but he's had a good season, let's see if he's going to be great before proclaiming him to be the saviour, (obviously from a clown) but he's already better than Di Maria who's won league titles, the Champion's league and appeared in a World Cup final (?).
Finnegan Posted 31 March 2015 Posted 31 March 2015 To clarify, I want him to have a shit career and be bollocks.
ScouseFox Posted 31 March 2015 Posted 31 March 2015 To clarify, I want him to have a shit career and be bollocks. +1 this i agree

To be fair it usually happens when they're about 17 and do one or two good things. At least Kane is a bit older and has actually had almost a whole good season. I hope he turns out to be a regular goalscorer for England.
MooseBreath Posted 31 March 2015 Posted 31 March 2015 To clarify, I want him to have a shit career and be bollocks. He's already better than the girly Bail character
Danizen Posted 31 March 2015 Posted 31 March 2015 Old Clive Tyldesley is jizzing his spiderman's every time The Boy Wonder gets a shot and making excuses every time he makes a mistake.
Guest kristianity77 Posted 2 April 2015 Posted 2 April 2015 I don't get it. What's with the Harry Kane hate from our fans? It's not his fault is it that Nige didn't know how to utilise him efficiently is it? It's the story of Nigels second tenure with us when you look at certain players.
Dan Posted 2 April 2015 Posted 2 April 2015 I want him to do well. I'm over the 'hate' (to be honest I wouldn't even say I had any). He was crap for us but it's becoming more and more obvious why. I assume Rodney Marsh was on the wind up. Laughable statement. I think he's an average all-round footballer with an excellent eye for goal, the latter is obviously a fantastic asset but people don't seriously see him being up with the likes of Lewandowski do they? Our media are scum. Always have been, always will be.
Donut Posted 2 April 2015 Posted 2 April 2015 I hope its not controversial to say, but i dont think he is THAT good. Granted, he is in the middle of a purple patch and everything he touches is turning to gold. And fair play to him for that. But when i look at his game, he doesnt have many standout attributes in my opinion. He doesnt have the blistering turn of speed and acceleration that a player like someone like Torres had while at Liverpool, or an Henry, or in recent times Sergio Aguero. He doesnt bully defenders around like Diego Costa and impose himself onto them, nor does he have the tireless work rate of an Alexis Sanchez. When i think of predatory finishers too, i dont know really. Doesnt really strike me as a lethal poacher. He does all of these things well, certainly good enough. But i dont think he has one STANDOUT attribute. Ultimately, i think thats probably why this season might be the best of his career. Im not entering into the hate for him while he was here. He has matured in the couple of years since then for one, developed physically and mentally as a player, and is being used in completely different roles now. Its unfair to pick out a loan spell where he was badly utilised to form a judgement on him.
Stadt Posted 2 April 2015 Posted 2 April 2015 He's alright in the air, he's the English Klose (potentially).
m4DD0gg Posted 2 April 2015 Posted 2 April 2015 I know, it's not like we have Rooney (7 in 7 for England) or Welbeck (top scorer in the qualifiers) in our squad. brilliant, when was the last time Rooney did anything in a tournament other than look fat and red, scoring goals against teams where most of the players main profession is dentistry is poor and as for Welbeck . Not saying Kane will do something in a tournament but jesus.
