Aston Villa Post Match Thread 2 - 1

Pearson is just not capable of turning around bad runs look at the 2012/13 season when we were right up there and then scrapped into the play offs. He only has one style and that's management by fear as proved by the issues this week. He needs to go now if only to lift the club with a fresh face. This is the worst most u enjoyable time under the Pearson run I have had as a fan fan for 30 plus years and I have seen some poor teams but at least those managers expressed passion.

what are you disputing that we  didn't give our all or that Villa are bang ordinary?- you're wrong on both counts

The point he i assume and that i am making is yes villa are shit and ordinary but today we made them look like something they are not, look at the match stats.

We are totally inept of ideas when it comes to defending and our set pieces other than Cambiasso's are a total joke.

I do agree that we make tremendous efforts but there is a fine line in effort achieving anything of value and running around like a headless chicken.

Well to be honest I though Nugent did as well as anyone after he came on. He looked like our only capable player goal wise. He never shirks he defensive duties either. We need all our players to have that ethic.

We are a team with no ideas whatsoever, if Pearson's game plan is to play hoof ball then on that alone he deserves to be sacked.

Where has our passing game gone? Last season we were a passing team, good fast link up play, a team capable of spreading the ball all over the field, but now we seem scared to bring it down and play. Our midfield today was diabolical, big fan of Matty James but today he had an absolute shocker, not only his set piece delivery, but his lack of urgency to pick up second balls was shocking, plus he got constantly overran in midfield. We saw very little of Cambiasso & his passing range, while our wingers were awful, Schlupp does get harshly criticised in my opinion but today he deserves everything he gets, simply not good enough. Mahrez was crap as well, seriously overrated, his first touch at times was an embarrassment. Also Liam Moore may have started the season well, but it wouldn't surprise me if we loan him out in January, seriously poor today.

We need fresh ideas because whatever Pearson is trying to do is not working, he has done wonders for this club, but we can't afford to keep going through the same shit every week.

We can blame the ref all we like as well, and it was a shocking decision, but that aside our performance yet again was seriously poor, we lack quality all the way from defence to attack.

Again I agree.

From about sixty minutes in, our midfield went AWOL.

They were carving us open time and time again. Even Babylon said that Cambiasso looked leggy. And James was awful today. We aren't good enough to take control of games. And it goes on.

Jesus what the hell is going on with Pearsons eye balls in the post match interview on sky, looks like he has had a line of bolivian marching powder, his eyes are all over the gaff.

3) people who say we shouldn't match other teams formation in the premiership, p*** off! we got overran all game.

Of course we got overran, because we played their game. We hoofed it to them non stop instead of playing football like we did last season. Drinkwater being on the bench when he's our best passer doesn't help.

In what way should we have matched them? Maybe if we'd have played some fvcking football we might have given ourselves a chance.

SIMPLY NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!

The league doesn't lie!! We've not looked good enough for a while now! Some poor personal errors- none of the players look like they have an ounce of confidence, poor tactics again, poor at set pieces, poor in final third, poor concentration in defence causing costly mistakes and some bad luck.

On a positive note Kasper was x100 better than he has been recently and was our stand out player in my opinion.

Nige had long discussion with Lambert after the game, hopefully discussing Assistant vacancy. Sorry to say but I think change is probably only way forward, we need to get results and quick!!! Other teams are pulling away from us already and we look like not picking a point up for rest of the season at the minute

fvck me people have been going on about james being one of our better players this season yet after one game he's suddenly our worst player and has failed to make the step up? fvck off.

Schlupp's lack of composure and care in front of goal is terrible. Appalling finishing, last week's was a great hit but that miss today- incredibly shit.

his feet must be banana shaped.

I've always had the same opinion, he is avery average at his level!!

The biggest thing we are missing is a 'number ten' some one who can look after the ball and create. I think nugent and Ulloa did ok today but that's not their game.

That and a winger. I have my fears about knockaert at this level but he has to be better than what we have at the minute.

Maybe by playing 3 in the middle of the park? U know, get some control of the ball? No? Okay

What annoyed me a lot was our fans singing only one Nigel Pearson after 20 mins when we scored. Save it till the end of the game lads if we have won

Maybe they think he should stay regardless of what happened in the next 80 minutes. You're making the mistake of thinking we're all fickle morons.

James would be fine if someone else took the ****ing freekicks or corners. Jesus christ absolutely shocking.

I don't understand we have CAMBIASSO (height 4ft) in the box, and James whom has shown in alllll games this season he can't cross TAKING THEM.

Madness. When will Pearson realise.

Why do people keep pointing out Mahrez as one of the better players? other than the run and shot that set up ulloa he did nothing. He is light weight and constantly gives the ball away. The one or two good moments he has in a match is just not enough. Schlupp is equally as wasteful in possession.

But, Mahrez's one or two good moments in a match is still one or two good moments more than the dross that surrounds him.
