Aston Villa Post Match Thread 2 - 1

Utter rubbish find 10 new outfield players.  No excuses from Pearson he lets the cub down, why did he not sub James who was having a shocker. Give up Leicester you are not a premiership team, poor result against a poor Villa

I can't fault the effort from any of them but the quality on the pitch is so substandard it's depressing.

The red card will provide a nice distraction to the disorganised defense which seems to be deteriorating by the week. Where Konchesky was for the 2nd goal I don't know.

I'm still behind Pearson, but I wouldn't be shocked if he was booted not that I think it would do much good as the squad simply isn't strong enough. Mahrez looked quality at times but given the constant hoofing from defense to attack he was a passenger second half. Disappointing.

Effort is there - defending isnt! simple

If we dont gamble and buy a defender and striker in Jan we'll go down with a pathetic wimper

Nobody will come to us dude.  It would be like how Moore turned Fulham down last January.

Game over (For Pearson)

For putting blind faith in this team failing to sign quality experienced prem players.

Dogs!it at set pieces.

Dogs!it at delivering a good quality ball.

Dogs!it post.

Ensure you have the required quality before the window closes...

Were you saying that on 1st September out of interest? It's a total death knell for newly promoted clubs to not be able to see if their players are able to adapt. Criticism is very easy in hindsight.

The transfer restrictions in this league are ridiculous now, what's a manager to do when we're clearly this short of quality and his hands are tied for four months?

Not leave ourselves in this mess in the first place

It's pearsons fault for not doing it when he had the chance

Went down the park this morning to watch the 9 yr old step-daughter play football.  Nobody wanted the ball & if it came near them, they would just lump it as far away as possible.

Somehow the girl's team won 2-1.  That's the only difference.

Plenty of fight but just not good enough.

Cambiasso is a million miles ahead of anyone in our squad.

Moore missed his chance. He made Wes Morgan look half decent.

Another wank referee though. We're being let down by a lack of quality. Does changing the manager change that?

No more dressing it up, take no positives and face facts, we are not good enough for this league.

Plain and simple, we lack the quality and no how to survive in this division.

Agree, good championship team, poor premiership. Two choices, prepare for next season and learn from this one, or change it up, throw some money at a new manager and players and have a go.

Either way we all need to get behind the team, that fan who had a go at Pearson is a div, he isnt owed an apology

No chance of that. We should have done that in the summer when players wanted to sign for us.

But so what, it doesn't matter what players you've got if you can't do the basics and your tactics are so woeful. Why oh why did we decide to become a long ball team?

This is the worst managerial performance I've seen for sometime. This season's Pearson is like the Tater Peeler to last season's Martin O'Neill. If you catch my drift. Total self destruction.

So on the 21st September we had 8 points and were 7th in the league.

On 7th December we have 10 points and 20th. After playing all the bottom half teams (but Hull).

That's not depressing at all.

I know generally we are poor at set pieces. both attacking and defending.

But surely it doesn't help when we have Matty James taking them who is beyond terrible at them. I'm a big Matty James fan but i'm sure half the people on here could take a better set piece than him.

We have several better players at them: Cambiasso, Mahrez, Knocky and Albrighton. Mahrez can be inconsistent with them and 2 of those 4 don't start unfortunately. But someone other than James should be taking them to maybe give us a slight chance of scoring from them

Back when most on here thought we were the dog's bollocks. Righto.

As far as I can see, there are problems right across the pitch. And I mean everywhere.

We look out of our depth. This Villa side is bang average.
