Aston Villa Post Match Thread 2 - 1

Maybe they think he should stay regardless of what happened in the next 80 minutes. You're making the mistake of thinking we're all fickle morons.

It's getting a bit irritating that you consider posters to be fickle because they think getting rid of a manager on a terrible winless run that's leaving us on the verge of being cut off at the bottom of the league might help things. Instead of criticising people, why not offer your thoughts about how Pearson and the team are going to turn it around?

P.S. I didn't hear anyone singing it at the end.

that's punctuation you tiny minded imbecile, I have no time for capital letters unless the iPhone corrects me automatically, I stand by my statement, generally, bad spelling = moronic viewpoints.

Now you are calling me a tiny minded imbecile? This is coming from somebody who pulls me up on my spelling mid game! lol

You claim bad spelling = moronic viewpoints well my post was that we should of bought a new LB in the summer, it was a fair comment I reckon.

May I suggest you stop the pathetic spelling corrections and get a life, it's a football forum, and in the middle of a game why would you bother being so anal?

Oh and then you start the name calling whilst hiding behind your keyboard. Pathetic.

The guy Shade mid game pulled me up on using the word of instead of have and mistakingly putting new instead of knew.

I really don't understand some people.

What an utter embarrassment Marcin Waselewski was!

No need for the free kick they scored from in the first half, the player had his back to goal and was a long way out going nowhere.

For the second I have no idea what he was doing down towards the corner flag. The bloke has no pace, why is he even thinking he can get back and stop their counter? He is suppose to be our experienced head at the back and there he is down in the corner flag in the same pocket as Simpson leaving our whole defence exposed.

His constant cynical fouling is becoming a problem, how many times did we give Gerrard a free kick on the edge of the area on Tuesday? Same again today. We need a whole new back 4!

I've made my reasons pretty clear already, frankly I'm sick regurgitating it every time they decide they're Pearson Out again.

For the record I'm not sure they are going to turn it around, I just think there's a much better chance of them turning it around than anybody else, and certainly I think Nigel Pearson is the best long term option for the football club.

Unfortunately can't see PEARSON taking charge for much longer if results keep going this way and our next couple of games are difficult ones !!

And why do we always find our spirit when we go down to ten men ??

But then again the ref got it totally wrong Hutton should have gone konch was hard done by and yet again I hate to say it but the quality of referees in England is so poor that the FA need to look at the quality and about time they audited they're officials fine and ban them for poor performances the FA need to get proactive and sort out this problem now !!

Can't get my head around why Wasilewski,, at 1-1, was in the opposition right hand corner giving the ball away, resulting in the breakaway goal. No wonder the defence is all at sea with judgement and decisions like that.

I thought the same.

No way is the the best long term option - I am sick of watching poor tactics and decision on team selection - I have been watch them for 30 years plus and his time in charge has been the least enjoyable EVER

What?! Did you not enjoy the 102 points last year?

On my way back now, a strange game but plenty of disappointment. First thoughts are again, two poor goals conceeded! Liam Moore lost his man for the first, and a complete balls up of a throw cost us dearly for the second.

4-4-2 simply isn't working, there's not enough cover for the back four or support for the forward two to be a success in this league, Sanchez was often floating in midfield free to pass to, we have got to play 4-3-3 or 4-5-1, Ulloa and Vardy don't work as a pair, Ulloa has to come too deep to retrieve the ball and then we end up sitting back and put ourselves under pressure. I also think we're too small, I don't know if anyone else agrees but every team we come up against seems to be big and bulky, have big players where they need them, physically I don't think we're up to it and that's one of the main downfalls for me, in the air, tackles, running for 50/50 balls or holding the ball, something most sides seem to have. We didn't punish Villa for their mistakes today as they did us and its a common theme in our season so far.

We have too many players not performing, I thought James was off today, Mahrez, and Albrighton.....all he tried to do was cross it all of the time, even from impossible angles, he is one player I am really not impressed with.

I'd like to say I still believe, but I think it's a case of expecting the worst and hoping for the best, and I don't think a new manager would change that either.

I talking about his total term in charge not just a one off season

His total term which includes two titles, two play-offs, two cup runs to quarter-finals and in four full seasons a combined goal difference of +124. If that's the worst in 30 years I wonder what the Taylor/ Bassett season and 2003-2008 were like. Joyous?

This.

Having said that, James should have dumped him well before he got anywhere near our box, just as he should have done with Obertan at Newcastle.

Terrible goal to concede.
