Guest Col city fan Posted 23 December 2014 Posted 23 December 2014 See this is why, regardless of where we are in the league or how we are performing, I have to go to every match that I physically can. Imagine if you had the chance to see something like that live and you didn't go. I am still waiting this season though I was a a lot younger then and went to nearly every game with my mates in my old Ford Escort Estate..But watching those teams was an honour actually. Starting with Brian Little's reign. Great old grounds, lots of atmos, a bit of 'aggro' every so often. It's shite now by comparison, both on and off the field. I feel it a privilege to have been a young fan watching football when it really was a man's game. If a lot of our young uns feel the need to spaff when they watch Cambiasso now, they should have seen us when we were really good. They'd be spaffing themselves senseless. Maybe it's for this reason that I'm so much more reticent to hail a player a hero before I've even seen them play. I'm lucky..I really have seen great players in a Leicester City shirt. RDL for example, ain't a patch on Pontus Kaamark, Knockeart and Tommy Wright, Drinkwater and Izzett etc... To be fair though, I've seen my fair share of crap uns too.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 23 December 2014 Posted 23 December 2014 Go from being the dogs bollocks to just bollocks in a matter of weeks after beating Man United 5-3. Edit: didn't read the title after a few bevvies, Naughtons celebration after his wonder goal was my fav.
AKCJ Posted 23 December 2014 Posted 23 December 2014 Knocky's scorpion kick against Huddersfield for me. Sheer brilliance. Although the Izzet bicycle kick runs it very close.
RonnieTodger Posted 23 December 2014 Author Posted 23 December 2014 Can't argue with Izzet's although I didn't see it live. Schmeichel's header was a pretty great moment too.
Tom's Pasta Posted 23 December 2014 Posted 23 December 2014 Izzet against Grimsby has to be the best goal. One that hasn't been mentioned is Max Gradel's free kick against MK dons in the 97th minute. That pretty much guaranteed promotion and I remember just going mad in the concourse with loads of city fans, great moment.

Stadt Posted 23 December 2014 Posted 23 December 2014 DD's goal against Watford was brilliant and Cambiasso's equaliser against Man U will probably always be my best ever football moment. Lloyd's goals against Fulham and Bolton were amazing too

Do you feel like it's your mission to mention Cambiasso as much as possible? Did he sleep with your wife?

Dickov22 Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 Gudjohnssen's from the half way line. Doesn't get enough credit- it was better than Beckham's. Went in like a bullet!

la domestique Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 Joachim against Barnsley. Absolute mayhem behind the goal, love those days.
daddylonglegs Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 Marshall against Chelsea was ridiculous. One touch and put his foot through it.
Izzet is God Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 Nalis vs Leeds, Walsh vs Arsenal, Izzet vs Grimsby, Izzet vs Spurs, Claridge vs Man Utd (Heskey's back-flick). But the best thing for me was watching Pontus Kaamark man mark Juninho out of the League Cup Final - best left back performance I have ever seen.
DennisNedry Posted 25 December 2014 Posted 25 December 2014 Joachim against Barnsley. Absolute mayhem behind the goal, love those days.
Stadt Posted 25 December 2014 Posted 25 December 2014 Knocky when he went past about 5 Watford players last year
iancognito Posted 25 December 2014 Posted 25 December 2014 If it's a case of "I was there" I didn't get up to Barnsley but Joachim's against Pompey in the play-off semi. They put about 6 men between him and the goal and backed off ten yards and he still out paced them from the half way line. In fact most of his goals between 03 and 05 were stunning. Another Izzet contender was that volley against Spurs. Any goal that night would have sent the place into orbit but wow, that made Ramsey's in the Champions League look ordinary.
peterborofox Posted 25 December 2014 Posted 25 December 2014 Would love to have seen Izzet's over head kick against Grimsby live. That was pure class
SystonFox Posted 25 December 2014 Posted 25 December 2014 Would love to have seen Izzet's over head kick against Grimsby live. That was pure class Officially i reckon there was perhaps 1,000 city fans there but unofficially every man and his dog saw it live
