LCFC FOX Posted 31 December 2014 Posted 31 December 2014 I don't think there is much in it between Ulloa and Ings to be honest. Ings being younger probably edges it though. Ulloa is stronger and better in the air though. It would be a bloody good partnership.
davieG Posted 31 December 2014 Posted 31 December 2014 Tottenham and Liverpool join race for Danny Ings Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool have joined Leicester City, Everton, Southampton, Aston Villa and Rangers in the race for Burnley striker Danny Ings, according to the Daily Star. Leicester City have made a renewed £8 million bid for the Burnley man, whilst Everton, Southampton, Aston Villa and Rangers are all reportedly monitoring the situation. It has now been reported that having cooled their interest in West Bromwich Albion forward Saido Berahino, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are looking to Ings to solve their striking deficiencies. Ings had previously gone on record stating that he is not interested in a move away from Turf Moor. However, should a club the size of Tottenham Hotspur or Liverpool submit a genuine interest, this may change things. “I’m contracted until the end of the season and that’s the way it’s going to be,” he said. “I will fight for the team as much as I can and do my best for them. If an offer comes in, I won’t be looking at it.”

The Doctor Posted 31 December 2014 Posted 31 December 2014 Premiership to the Scottish second tier - no doubt that's a massive step up
Ed25 Posted 31 December 2014 Posted 31 December 2014 Mike Ashley said that he wants to sign Ings should Rangers be promoted
Guest Bilo Posted 31 December 2014 Posted 31 December 2014 I thought Rangers were on the verge of bankruptcy again?
BlackburnClaret Posted 31 December 2014 Posted 31 December 2014 rangers More likely than Leicester, to be fair.
ScouseFox Posted 31 December 2014 Posted 31 December 2014 More likely than Leicester, to be fair. i'd rather he went to rangers
Danizen Posted 31 December 2014 Posted 31 December 2014 This will never happen. Not for a fee that wouldn't make me want to throw up, anyway.
MHC Posted 31 December 2014 Posted 31 December 2014 More likely than Leicester, to be fair. Codswallop. Not that we would get him anyway, as things stand Burnley have more chance of staying up then us, he may as well stay at Burnley then go to Leicester or Rangers.

We are more likely to sell to Rangers then hand Leicester our best striker.

I thought you were implying that Rangers are a better option currently which they are not. You would be daft to sell him to anyone outside the top 10 for less then 15 million, he could well be the difference between Burnley staying up or going down and depending on how much a club is awarded for staying up (I speculate that it is far more then the 15 million I mentioned above) that could well be the true value of Danny Ings.

Spot on, plus if we can spark a bidding war now then the figures banded about will affect the results of the tribunal at the end of the season.
MHC Posted 31 December 2014 Posted 31 December 2014 Spot on, plus if we can spark a bidding war now then the figures banded about will affect the results of the tribunal at the end of the season. I'm a diehard Leicester fan and I am very optimistic but even I admit that he would be off his rocker to even entertain the idea of switching from Burnley to Leicester at this current moment, we might be a bigger club then Burnley but Leeds are a bigger club then Leicester and any of our players would be mad to go there, size of club doesn't mean a great deal. Burnley are playing the kind of football we were playing for the first five games and as a result have got themselves into a position where Premiership survival is a real possibility and if you do survive I could possibly see Ings staying.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 31 December 2014 Posted 31 December 2014 He's looking the real deal, if you want to judge on his goals alone, then fine, but the amount of work he gets through for the team is incredible. He runs the channels, and links the play so well. I can't argue with that, but surely we need a goal scorer.
SlaneyLCFC Posted 31 December 2014 Posted 31 December 2014 Money talks though. If enough pound notes were offered and we started to pull in some results then who knows. Would rather have charlie austin personally over ings.
Monk Posted 31 December 2014 Posted 31 December 2014 Looking through the jan transfer window previews on bbc and guardian it seems over half of the prem are after Ings. We should move on to other targets.
shailen Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 i highly doubt he would come to us. Maybe at the end of the season if we stay up and Burnley go down.
Thracian Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Good player and wonderful if we could sign him but with us sitting bottom of the table I can't see we've got any chance.
Manwell Pablo Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Can't see Ings or especially Austin coming here any time soon unfortuantley
Spiritwalker Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Unlikely he will come here but IMO he will go on to be an England regular, he reminds me of Shearer.
StanSP Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Clever by us I think. I'm not entirely convinced that the club actually think they'll get him. We stick a bid in. Other clubs take note, especially if they're actually seriously interested in getting him. They see we've bid and before they miss out on him, they'll have to get a bid in too. Burnley's hand is forced - either they sell to any club who chucks enough money at them or they tie Ings down. I think I'm right in saying though that Ings isn't committing to signing a contract with Burnley? Of course I could be reading too much in to it . And nothing may come of this at all.

I was thinking that .... It's a no lose situation for us .... we make an offer and get him = happy days ..... we make a bid and lose out = we've unsettled a major competitor's main man!!!
