Dan Posted 12 January 2015 Posted 12 January 2015 I don't wish him any bad, I just don't think he's particularly good. £5mil would be superb business.
harpendenfox Posted 12 January 2015 Posted 12 January 2015 If he goes there will always be the memory of that thunderbolt at Turf Moor. An insanely wonderful moment in our recent history. For that alone Chris, we salute you
thybluefox Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 As much as I want it to work for him here - I've just not seen enough from him consistently to think it'll happen. Great goal at burnley but compare his touch and link up play to Ulloa and he's massively behind.
Footballwipe Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Not good enough for PL level, nowhere near what we need. Will always be an important figure in the "class of 2013-14" and will forever be remembered for that, but we can only take those who are good enough with us into the next class. Hope he gets his move.
kingcarr21 Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Hes not really had many minutes on the pitch in the premier league. so i think its a touch harsh to say hes not good enough. If played regular im sure he would have got a couple more goals but we cant afford the luxury of trying him out on a regular basis when Ulloa has done so well for us. I wouldnt mind keeping him and giving him a chance but if he wants to leave then thats fair enough. Id say thanks very much for your efforts and good luck. He certainly hasnt done his career any harm being here imo. That goal against Burnley will always be remembered (for me and im sure most of you) for being the goal that finally made us fans believe 'We've done it'

walkerleeds Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Still a young lad and can clearly finish- Would love him to start playing regular football for a top half Championship team again and see how he goes. Keeping him on our bench / reserves is doing no one any favours at this stage in his career surely?
FoxSince88 Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Wasn't training today although may have something to do with him playing yesterday
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Loan until end of season to a decent championship side, if we go down he could still have a part to play.

It lets him down and means he isn't as effective as he should be as a big lad in holding the ball up. Instead he regularly gifts it back to the opposition. I can see that he has a bit of class but he is not massively ahead of Wood.

I'm always impressed by his touch, especially when you consider how closely marked he is most of the time. But it's all about opinions innit?
NewquayFox Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Ulloa does well considering everyone seems to boot him at the first chance....
MIAMI_FOX Posted 14 January 2015 Posted 14 January 2015 Wood,is ok shame he can't head a ball considering his size

For someone who pretty much permanently has a player hanging off his shoulders, and another one in front of him waiting for the lose ball, I'd say he does very well to bring down and keep as many as he does. We rarely see Wood do the same thing - granted he's had less chance to prove himself but it was something I noticed last season as well.
kingcarr21 Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Radio this morning suggesting Championship clubs interested and £3 million would be enough for his services. Didnt he cost us around £2 Million?
Lovejoy Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Radio this morning suggesting Championship clubs interested and £3 million would be enough for his services. Didnt he cost us around £2 Million? Talksport? I feel for Chris Wood. I'm sure that if he gets a solid year or two where he is first choice striker at a club and builds a consistent goal scoring record, he could be a very handy striker. Unfortunately, that's not going to happen at this point at this club.

Pretty sure NP said that he had not spent more than 1mil on a single player. Until this year of course.

I agree i believe he could be good for us. Wouldnt mind seeing him stay but also wouldnt begrudge him if he wanted to move.
Merging Cultures Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 I'd loan him out for the rest of the season, I think he might be good with a bit more experience.
Clever Fox Posted 19 January 2015 Posted 19 January 2015 Do a deal with Ipswich in exhange for Tyrone Mings and a few Mill. Showing all the potential to being another G Bale. A left back at that.
NewquayFox Posted 19 January 2015 Posted 19 January 2015 Mings looks like a great prospect, 6'5" and could also cover as a centre half but he's a LEFT BACK woo hoooo get him in...
