Genuine q: Have you seen any player go on to be really good somewhere else after Pearson has shown them the door here? I haven't

Max Gradel did alright for himself

Ben Marshall's decent at Blackburn isn't he

Absolutely. But has he got better since leaving? No

Max Gradel did alright for himself

Really?? For a prolonged period of time. I wouldn't say it was a mistake letting him go

Max Gradel, Ben Marshall, Kermorgant instantly come to mind as having a better career elsewhere than they did at Leicester.

Really good is subjective, but performed better than at LCFC for sure.

It's a good question .... And I'd not count Ben Marshall, but would suggest Max Gradel and Kermogant ..... With YK he could go on to become a world beater and I wouldn't have a problem with hi m being sold as I think his future at LCFC was just untenable.

So I take the point that he usually doesn't sell a good player ..... And maybe I see things in Wood that others don't .... But genuinely I think he looks a really decent player and at his age could go on to be a decent 20+ goals a season striker, given the chance.

but the first 2 had attitude issues and haven't really torn up any trees long term since and the latter.. well he couldn't walk down a street anywhere near Leicester without someone shouting 'Why the Fvck did you have to lob it'  and had to move on before any more hilarious Youtube songs were created

i liked woods attitude earlier in the season wanting to fight for a place, but with the signing/signings coming up top he has to go has he is last in the pecking order.

i wish him well

People have being saying that about Wood for years - there's a reason he's ended up going on loan to so many clubs in the Championship - that's his level.

He's only 22?? I think if he finds somewhere that will stick with him and give him a run in the side then he'll prove to be a decent player .... Maybe good enough for the PL maybe not, but certainly a decent upper half Championship player right now and with loads of time to improve.

I'd agree with Kermorgant but lets be honest there was absolutely no way he was forcing his way back in here. As someone else correctly pointed out it actually wasn't Pearson who got rid of him either.

With rumours of both Kramaric and Defore signing, Wood has obviously fallen down the pecking order (wouldn't surprise me if Nugent was up next for a loan move).

I do hope we keep the Kiwi, he's shown he can score some real beauties, has a decent touch. If only he'd work more on his overall play (and his heading, as previously mentioned - for a lad that tall, he shies away from headers too often).

Looks like we've put 5 million price tag according to the sun

That's a big jump from the £1.5m - £2m we were going to sell him to Wolves for, only 4 months ago (and he hasn't scored or done anything to deserve the increased value since then !).

I like Wood and agree that it's best for him to be playing somewhere. I don't see why it needs to be permanent though.
