Fox92 Posted 19 January 2015 Posted 19 January 2015 Do a deal with Ipswich in exhange for Tyrone Mings and a few Mill. Showing all the potential to being another G Bale. A left back at that. I mentioned Mings in the other thread. Not sure if Ipswich will let him go, especially after Cresswell went in the summer? They are at the high end of the second division too.

This is a dream plan. I can see Ipswich preferring to keep Mings than recruit Wood but a substantial offer of Wood inc £3mil may turn a few heads at Portman Road. Then I doubt Mings would want to come with Ipswich's current progress. He is a fantastic player though and, like Cresswell was before his West Ham move, he's someone I'd love us to sign.
Clever Fox Posted 22 January 2015 Posted 22 January 2015 Of course a deal can be done, It's business. This is a great opportunity for the club to sign the quality needed if we're serious about moving forward. The lad is young, quick, can play in several positions and has great control. Something that's sadly lacking in many of our squad. There's no logic in keeping Wood as he now has even more opposition for a place in the side with Kramaric. Even King could fill in up top if needed as he has demonstrated that he has an eye for goal in the past. Let Wood go and get Mings in before someone else snaps him up.

chicagofox Posted 30 January 2015 Posted 30 January 2015 Surely another striker must be coming in if he is going Why? I'm not saying you're wrong but why must another one be coming in? We would still have Vardy, Nugent (Yes, I know they are not up to par but they are still strikers), Ulloa and Kramaric

MM just been on local news saying no first team squad members going anywhere. Was told today by an Ipswich fan we have asked the question and been told not for sale and they will not even reply to any bid less than 12m. He is a big part of there promotion push.
Clever Fox Posted 30 January 2015 Posted 30 January 2015 I'd still take him even at 12 m Going to be a great talent I think.
woznotwos Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 It seems like theres no takers for wood then . Story of my life...........................
I am Rod Hull Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 It seems like theres no takers for wood then . Story of my life........................... you've been saving that one all month
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Does anyone know where I can get a crocodile? Why?
MC Prussian Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Surely another striker must be coming in if he is goingIf Wood leaves, we'd still have four strikers available in Nugent, Vardy, Kramaric and Ulloa. That's enough for our regular formations. I'd rather have us sign another central midfielder and deploy Nugent as a forward than going for another striker and trying to accomodate Nugent as an attacking midfielder.
VLC86 Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Teabag time Haha, surely a championship club would take him. Seams he is hanging on to the slim hope that the plague wipes out our other forwards so he gets a game.
5waller5 Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 I'm pretty glad we didn't sell him ... If we do get relegated he's one of the first names on the team sheet next season (i hate myself for even thinking about this).
Dan Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 I'm pretty glad we didn't sell him ... If we do get relegated he's one of the first names on the team sheet next season (i hate myself for even thinking about this). Would he though? He wasn't last season. I think he'd probably be used in the same way he was used last year.
5waller5 Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 Would he though? He wasn't last season. I think he'd probably be used in the same way he was used last year. I think we'd have less options than last year if it did happen .... he'd be third choice behind vardy and nugent again ... I dunno .... pointless thought I guess ..... But I'm glad he's still here- I rate him personally!!
LCFC FOX Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 Can see Ulloa staying even if we go down to be honest. Only Kramavic will jump ship I reckon in terms of strikers. Having said that I think only Cambiasso, Mahrez and Kasper will leave also.

I dunno .... pointless thought I guess ..... But I'm glad he's still here- I rate him personally!! He has got age on his side and it isn't beyond him to develop into a better forward but I don't really rate him myself. Don't think he fits Pearson's football. I think he's got similarities to Yakubu. Can see Ulloa staying even if we go down to be honest. Only Kramavic will jump ship I reckon in terms of strikers. Having said that I think only Cambiasso, Mahrez and Kasper will leave also. If Ulloa gets to 13/14 goals this season I could see someone taking a punt on him. 7 (arguably 8) league goals and 2 cup goals (both against Premier League sides) isn't a record to be sniffed at for a forward who's playing for the bottom club.
