"Yacob" has asked me to post this up for him for their forum to have a gander. Question 7 could be fun lol

I'm from toonforum.co.uk and we like to ask a set of questions to opposition fans and use it in our pre match build up. As I can't start topics, can you post these for me? Thanks

1) What are your hopes for the FA Cup?
2) Where do you think you need to look at in the transfer market?
3) Do you back Pearson? Or should he be replaced before it gets too late?
4) Are you confident about staying up this season?
5) You won the Championship with over 100 points last season, 9 clear of your nearest rivals, why do think you've struggled to make the step up to the Premier League?
6) If your club was a biscuit, what would it be? Why?
7) Was Cambiasso a good signing?
8) Does setting low ticket prices show that Pearson intends to rest most of your first team?
9) What's happened to Ulloa? At the start of the season everything he touched seemed to turn to gold then suddenly he just stopped scoring for months.
10) Scoreline prediction?

1. Hopefully we'll be given 3 points for a win tomorrow.

2. A striker with Prem experience.

3. 100% behind Nigel.

4. Yes I think we will but it will be close and go to the last few games.

5. Decisions made by refs alter games and cost you points, other than that a massive gulf between the two divisions now.

6. Hob nob, hard as nails but sometimes when saturated we do crumble occasionally.

7. Yes, silly question.

8. Ticket pricing has nothing to do with the starting 11, it's as far as I know agreed between the two clubs not the managers team sheet.

9. Every player has lean spells, (Shearer before Euro 96 for eg.)He still causes problems and works hard even if he doesn't score.

10. 2-1 to Leicester.

1) What are your hopes for the FA Cup?

I think it is a good cup but people need to take it more seriously.

2) Where do you think you need to look at in the transfer market?

The striker and defender section

3) Do you back Pearson? Or should he be replaced before it gets too late?

Back him? I love him

4) Are you confident about staying up this season?

Yeah I think we will and it will be really great.

5) You won the Championship with over 100 points last season, 9 clear of your nearest rivals, why do think you've struggled to make the step up to the Premier League?

Bad business, needed a proven cb and striker. Shit loads of bad luck too tbf.

6) If your club was a biscuit, what would it be? Why?

A macaron probably as we are sweet, colourful and a delight.

7) Was Cambiasso a good signing?

Oh yes, I dread to think where we would be without our bald eagle.

8) Does setting low ticket prices show that Pearson intends to rest most of your first team?

Nah just being nice to the fans, not that low anyway.

9) What's happened to Ulloa? At the start of the season everything he touched seemed to turn to gold then suddenly he just stopped scoring for months.

Had like 2 chances since, not creating enough for the fella.

10) Scoreline prediction?

1) Think I'm probably right in saying every club who's never won it wants to win the FA Cup more than anything else in football. That's the dream. As for this season I'm not so sure, just take each game as it comes. If we get past Newcastle and get a favourable tie or two and somehow end up in a quarter final then i'd want us to go all out for it.

2) Our two starting wingers are both off to the ACON (a similar problem with yourselves due to Cisse and Tiote going) so we might need to dip into the loan market for someone if that's possible to cover them. A left back and a scorer would be ideal too.

3) I think the constant, loud chants of One Nigel Pearson, the banners and the general feeling of support for the man answers this.

4) I'm more confident now than I was a month ago. We've picked up a few points but just as importantly we've played very well in 2 or 3 of our last 5 or so games. We've been incredibly hard done by to not take something off Man City, not beat Spurs and not win at Anfield.

5) I have literally no idea.

6) Party Ring. Loved them as a kid and no matter who says what or what happens now I still love em.

7) Yes. Very good.

8) I doubt it, although we will probably rest a few.

9) Slight lack off service, he's also been rotated occasionally and looked knackered at times. Still scoring the odd goal here and there.

10) 1-0 to us. Similar to the league game at your place in terms of quality but we get the breaks this time.

1) What are your hopes for the FA Cup? None. We won't take it seriously and neither will most top flight teams.
2) Where do you think you need to look at in the transfer market? We need a striker,  and a couple of defenders - at least.
3) Do you back Pearson? Or should he be replaced before it gets too late? I think we'll struggle to stay up either way.
4) Are you confident about staying up this season? No. We play well against the big clubs but do not stick to our principles against poorer sides.
5) You won the Championship with over 100 points last season, 9 clear of your nearest rivals, why do think you've struggled to make the step up to the Premier League? We didn't add enough quality in the summer but mainly because Pearson's tactics have been very poor, especially against sides we should be playing confidently against.
6) If your club was a biscuit, what would it be? Why?
7) Was Cambiasso a good signing? Yes.
8) Does setting low ticket prices show that Pearson intends to rest most of your first team? Probably.
9) What's happened to Ulloa? At the start of the season everything he touched seemed to turn to gold then suddenly he just stopped scoring for months. We've been shit since then.
10) Scoreline prediction? 0-1.

1) What are your hopes for the FA Cup?

Wouldn't mind a cup run, would love to win it, however we'll both probably play weakened sides. Personally, I don't think a cup run will necessarily make us any more likely to be relegated.
2) Where do you think you need to look at in the transfer market?

Left back, centre back, striker
3) Do you back Pearson? Or should he be replaced before it gets too late?

Back him 100%, done wonders for our club
4) Are you confident about staying up this season?

Last few games have given me more confidence but it'll still be tough
5) You won the Championship with over 100 points last season, 9 clear of your nearest rivals, why do think you've struggled to make the step up to the Premier League?

Hmm, hard to say really, fine margins and decisions have often gone against us but simple fact is a lot of our players aren't good enough at this level when we thought they would be
6) If your club was a biscuit, what would it be? Why?

Jammy Dodger, extreme highs and lows
7) Was Cambiasso a good signing?

Yeah, he's got his limitations at his age but he's been a cut above in many games and his thinking and vision is on another level. A leader
8) Does setting low ticket prices show that Pearson intends to rest most of your first team?

Doubt the ticket prices were his choice, most of our squad has been involved this season so whoever we put out shouldn't be significantly weak
9) What's happened to Ulloa? At the start of the season everything he touched seemed to turn to gold then suddenly he just stopped scoring for months.

Stopped getting the service, he's a good finisher and holds it up well
10) Scoreline prediction?

This is an odd one, what were people expecting him to carry on getting a goal a game and finish up on 40 odd goals? lol

This. He's only got 1 less in the league than Pelle/Berahino/Sakho and I don't hear that question about them?

1) What are your hopes for the FA Cup? For it to be taken seriously.

2) Where do you think you need to look at in the transfer market? Defence primarily. Left back, centre back and a forward (one who can do Nugent's role of linking attack to midfield but better).

3) Do you back Pearson? Or should he be replaced before it gets too late? I do personally and I think the time to sack him has passed. Hope isn't lost yet. Just look at yesterday.

4) Are you confident about staying up this season? Not at all, but I don't think it's beyond us.

5) You won the Championship with over 100 points last season, 9 clear of your nearest rivals, why do think you've struggled to make the step up to the Premier League? This is the one I simply cannot put my finger on. I don't get what Burnley have done so differently to us. Maybe we've tried to experiment a bit too much and paid the price as a result.

6) If your club was a biscuit, what would it be? Why? Maryland Cookie, the red pack. Why? Because it's good, but not quite the purple pack and we're the ultimate bridesmaids in football, who come close, but just miss out.

7) Was Cambiasso a good signing? Yes, but we've mis-used him for me.

8) Does setting low ticket prices show that Pearson intends to rest most of your first team? Unfortunately, probably.

9) What's happened to Ulloa? At the start of the season everything he touched seemed to turn to gold then suddenly he just stopped scoring for months. Shit service. I don't really blame him. He's a poacher and he rarely fails to take a chance when handed to him.

10) Scoreline prediction? 0-0 draw with a loss in a replay.

1) It'd be nice to go on a decent run but we have to prioritise staying up this year.
2) Definitely a left back, a central defender, a winger to cover for Mahrez/Schlupp, possibly a striker too.
3) Behind Pearson 100%
4) No, it'll be close but if I had to put money either way I'd bet we go down
5) We got in to a terrible run of form and have taken a long time to recover due to the confidence being shot. Also a lot of individual mistakes giving goals away.
6) Something by Fox's?
7) Hard to tell. At times he's brilliant, others he's too slow and becomes a passenger after 60 minutes.
8) Yes
9) Simply, we stopped creating chances for a long run of games. He has 7 goals this season which for a team rock bottom is still impressive.
10) Impossible to predict really because the teams could be anything... I'd fancy Newcastle to win because your second XI is stronger than ours.

Posted

1. Decent performances. Don't want a confidence-sapping defeat against a lower league club. Don't expect to win it, with our luck if we get past Newcastle it'll be Chelsea away next round.

2. Defence, CB and/or LB but definitely someone who can organise.

3. Yes.

4. No because we've made too many mistakes and let in soft goals. If we can cut that out then we could just make it, I have everything crossed.

5. We haven't played the football that got us up in the main.

6. Sorry I don't eat biscuits.

7. Yes.

8. Probably.

9. We stopped giving him the ball in positions where he could shoot.

10. 1-0 to Leicester - mainly because I think that it's a good time to play Newcastle.

1) What are your hopes for the FA Cup?

I am hoping we can progress well, the cup still needs to be taken seriously of course.

2) Where do you think you need to look at in the transfer market?

In my personal opinion, we need to invest in getting a left back which I feel is essential. Because although we have P Konchesky, we need some more cover.

3) Do you back Pearson? Or should he be replaced before it gets too late?

Yes, I totally back Nigel Pearson and I think he should stay as Leicester boss.

4) Are you confident about staying up this season?

At the moment, it doesn't look too good for the Foxes. But, I still believe in the squad that we have enough quality to stay up. I've seen how the players performed earlier in the season so I know there's potential for us to stay up.

5) You won the Championship with over 100 points last season, 9 clear of your nearest rivals, why do think you've struggled to make the step up to the Premier League?

The transition from the championship to the premier league can be a big one, and I feel possibly we could be still adjusting to playing in this league, but we are getting there, Performances are pleasing.

6) If your club was a biscuit, what would it be? Why?

I'm thinking maybe a shortbread biscuit. I love shortbread biscuits and the love for shortbread's are on the same level of love I have for Leicester. Haha!

7) Was Cambiasso a good signing?

I think so, yes. Cambiasso has great quality and we are very lucky to have such a talented player within our side.

8) Does setting low ticket prices show that Pearson intends to rest most of your first team?

That's a possibility I suppose yes. Because in the festive period there are many games that come along quickly, we might rest some of our first teamers for them to be ready for the next league matches.

9) What's happened to Ulloa? At the start of the season everything he touched seemed to turn to gold then suddenly he just stopped scoring for months.

It's hard to lay my finger on really to be honest. One thing I will say though is that once Ulloa gets a chance, he will more than likely put it into the net, so he is quite clinical in front of goal.

10) Scoreline prediction?

It probably won't be easy playing Newcastle because of the quality Newcastle's team has. But, following two positive results, Leicester will be high on confidence for this match. It's a tough match to call, I'm predicting a 2-1 Leicester win.

1) What are your hopes for the FA Cup? Couldn't care less, league is priority.

2) Where do you think you need to look at in the transfer market? Centre back and a striker. A left back and a winger would be useful too.

3) Do you back Pearson? Or should he be replaced before it gets too late? It's too late to replace him, Pulis has been snapped up so yes I do back him as he is the best man for the job

4) Are you confident about staying up this season? If we play as well as we can we should stay up but I wouldn't bet on it

5) You won the Championship with over 100 points last season, 9 clear of your nearest rivals, why do think you've struggled to make the step up to the Premier League? We did some poor business in the summer and we have been getting screwed over by referees. Silly little individual errors and bad luck. We have been very unlucky in a lot of games and if that wasn't the case we would probably be sitting comfortably in mid table

6) If your club was a biscuit, what would it be? Why? The opposite of a jammy dodger because we are certainly not jammy

7) Was Cambiasso a good signing? Yes

8) Does setting low ticket prices show that Pearson intends to rest most of your first team? Don't care

9) What's happened to Ulloa? At the start of the season everything he touched seemed to turn to gold then suddenly he just stopped scoring for months. He hasn't been getting the service but make no mistake he is a Premier League player

10) Scoreline prediction? I don't care, we need to win our next league game

Posted

1) What are your hopes for the FA Cup?

Winning it - I don't see why we can't.
2) Where do you think you need to look at in the transfer market?

Full-backs, another goal scorer to take the pressure off Ulloa
3) Do you back Pearson? Or should he be replaced before it gets too late?

Back to the hilt - no better candidate out there for me.
4) Are you confident about staying up this season?

Yes.
5) You won the Championship with over 100 points last season, 9 clear of your nearest rivals, why do think you've struggled to make the step up to the Premier League?

Difference in quality of opposing attackers - our defence was always shoddy, the premiership is just less forgiving than the championship.
6) If your club was a biscuit, what would it be? Why?

The humble digestive - solid biscuit but ignored over it's louder, flashier cousin.
7) Was Cambiasso a good signing?

Definitely, one of the best players we've had this season, and arguably in the last decade. Only complaint is that he's too clever for the rest of our team, they don't spot the things he does.
8) Does setting low ticket prices show that Pearson intends to rest most of your first team?

Possibly, but that generally happens with the third round anyway to my recollection
9) What's happened to Ulloa? At the start of the season everything he touched seemed to turn to gold then suddenly he just stopped scoring for months.

- Loss of service and dropping too deep as a result.
10) Scoreline prediction?

2-1 Leicester.

1- Pains me to say it but league is priority

2- All over the squad. Left back is a must for me as konchesky is past it

3- Back him 100%. Most of us do

4- It's going to be tough but we won't give up, I'm sure of that. I'm still very hopeful

5- Hard to say. We started brightly and maybe underestimated the lesser teams as a result. Signs that we've started to sort it out

6- Don't know

7- I think so. On his day he is just a class above. Must be great to habe around the training ground also

8- I think both sides will be heavily changed, just the way it is nowadays

9- Lack of service. He's still very good imo

10- 1-1

1) What are your hopes for the FA Cup?

Same as every year, win it.
2) Where do you think you need to look at in the transfer market?

Our limited but commited squad is in desperate need of an organiser at CB and a player with an IQ greater than a glass of water at LB. With the ACON depriving us of our two pacey winger another wide player would be nice.
3) Do you back Pearson? Or should he be replaced before it gets too late?

Like Pearson we all hoped the squad would adapt quicker to the division, the growing pains have occasionally been hard to watch but you could never fault the commitment or application. What Pearson has going for him also is that there is no one you'd actually want available.
4) Are you confident about staying up this season?

I'm confident we'll give it jolly good go.
5) You won the Championship with over 100 points last season, 9 clear of your nearest rivals, why do think you've struggled to make the step up to the Premier League?

We were amost too good in midfield and attack which meant our rather limited defence was never truely tested, this season they have been and have more often than not been found wanting. We also only signed 1 player for a fee of note, this is largely a championship squad trying to play Premier league football, we're getting there but we may not get there quick enough.
6) If your club was a biscuit, what would it be? Why?

A plain digestive. A solid if unspectacular offering which you wished had more on top but which you'd happily have anyway.
7) Was Cambiasso a good signing?

Yes, sadly a little too good. His brain is just that bit quicker than some which weirdly makes his brain look slower.
8) Does setting low ticket prices show that Pearson intends to rest most of your first team?

The squad isn't that big, it is probably more of a case that you will be resting yours (as Ashley seems to have little or no interest in the cups).
9) What's happened to Ulloa? At the start of the season everything he touched seemed to turn to gold then suddenly he just stopped scoring for months.

Like the rest of the squad he been watched and not so much 'worked out' but what he needs (crosses) has been worked out and his team mates has found it more difficult to find him. He goal return is still non too shabby when you compare him with other 'big fee' signings by other clubs in this division.
10) Scoreline prediction?

1) What are your hopes for the FA Cup? I hope to win it.
2) Where do you think you need to look at in the transfer market? Left back, holding midfielder, centre back, left wing, striker, attacking midfielder.
3) Do you back Pearson? Or should he be replaced before it gets too late? Back him 100%
4) Are you confident about staying up this season? Not particularly but I'll keep on believing we can.
5) You won the Championship with over 100 points last season, 9 clear of your nearest rivals, why do think you've struggled to make the step up to the Premier League? Bigger gap than anticipated, being horrendous in both boxes and and great deal of misfortune.
6) If your club was a biscuit, what would it be? Why? We would just be the crappy little crumbs at the bottom of the packet.
7) Was Cambiasso a good signing? Hell yeah! It's Cambiasso after all!
8) Does setting low ticket prices show that Pearson intends to rest most of your first team? We tend to do this no matter the opponent in the cups I believe.  Would still expect a very rotated squad after such a busy christmas period and our current predicament.
9) What's happened to Ulloa? At the start of the season everything he touched seemed to turn to gold then suddenly he just stopped scoring for months. Mixture of a lack of service and him dropping too deep at times.
10) Scoreline prediction? 6-0

Geordies- Take note on how to back your manager

tbf nige is a much much more likeable chap than pardew. I think I'd struggle to back pardew if we were shit and he was our manager.

Posted

1) What are your hopes for the FA Cup?

Take it seriously and get to the final.  Middlesborough, Wigan - relegation and FA Cup final is good for me

2) Where do you think you need to look at in the transfer market?

Players who KNOW where the net is.  Kevin Phillips, Jermain Defoe, Emile Hesky, Jordan Rhodes

3) Do you back Pearson? Or should he be replaced before it gets too late?

Back him unlike you knobs with pardew

4) Are you confident about staying up this season?

No - but I'm not confident the sun will rise from the west tomorrow

5) You won the Championship with over 100 points last season, 9 clear of your nearest rivals, why do think you've struggled to make the step up to the Premier League?

Missed chances and shite refs

6) If your club was a biscuit, what would it be? Why?

Bourbon because of the ethnicity of the city and our support

7) Was Cambiasso a good signing?

No

8) Does setting low ticket prices show that Pearson intends to rest most of your first team?

Hopefully not, but I think the FA should declare 3rd round day a national day for football and all tickets should be a tenner.  Yeovil V Lincoln = £10, Man U V Chelsea = £10 all down to the luck of the draw

9) What's happened to Ulloa? At the start of the season everything he touched seemed to turn to gold then suddenly he just stopped scoring for months.

Cambiasso slowed everything down

10) Scoreline prediction?

1) win it.

2) someone who can run between the lines

3) yes. Even if we go down this squad would bounce straight back and be better for it. To change the set up could see everything torn apart in a desperate bid to for survival and as such we could end having a rebuilding job and numerous managerial changes again until the right man becomes available.

4) yes, it will be tough clawing the deficit back but we have shown we're capable.

5) I think our earlier success may have countered against us, we maybe became a little complacent or too confident and after the man u result teams changes their approach towards us.

6) shortbread. Beautifully crumbly.

7) he's magic, you knooooooooooow.

8) something we do for cup games against smaller teams to draw the punters in.

9) lack of service. Given chances he will score more than he misses.

10) 3-1 City.

Posted

1) What are your hopes for the FA Cup?

I think the focus should be on surviving in the Premier League, anything in the FA Cup would be a bonus. At least it gives some of our "fringe players" the opportunity to shine and gain some valuable experience - with the African Cup of Nations looming, we need players to step up in order to replace the departing Mahrez and possibly Schlupp, too.

2) Where do you think you need to look at in the transfer market?

We need a few more players with Premier League experience. Preferably another left-back, centre-back, attacking midfielder and striker. And maybe get another talented winger in on top of that.
3) Do you back Pearson? Or should he be replaced before it gets too late?

He has my full backing. This season was always going to be a struggle with a very inexperienced manager and a largely inexperienced squad at this level. Pearson has shown he can turn things around and learn from his mistakes in the past. The hope remains that he can rediscover some of the magic he's shown a league below. For that he needs time - and patience from our fans. He already has the support from the board, so that's a good thing.
4) Are you confident about staying up this season?

Not sure at this moment, although it seems as if we're finally picking up form again and have now seen the end of our abysmal run. The hope remains, but for that we need everybody to step up (even our fans) and a handful of fitting signings this month.
5) You won the Championship with over 100 points last season, 9 clear of your nearest rivals, why do think you've struggled to make the step up to the Premier League? The struggle didn't start immediately. I think it was mostly down to form and a terrible bout of lack of confidence following that  last-gasp Burnley equalizer at home. We were also at the receiving end of some terrible refereeing decisions and unfortunate to concede own goals and from sloppy defending. The latter part a consequence of individual errors - even from rather unlikely sources, such as our captain (Morgan) or one of our most experienced Premier League players (Konchesky)
6) If your club was a biscuit, what would it be? Why?

I'd compare it to a Brunsli - looks unspectacular from the outside, but it's the sum of its parts that makes it so irresistible.
7) Was Cambiasso a good signing?

By far the best player on the pitch in terms of consistency and he's a very calming influence in the middle of the park. The way he delivers those long balls, his vision - top-notch, really. Our midfielders can definitely learn a lot from him.
8) Does setting low ticket prices show that Pearson intends to rest most of your first team?

I don't think you can draw any connections between the importance of the match with the ticket prices, really. After all, this is still "only" the 3rd round of the FA Cup.
9) What's happened to Ulloa? At the start of the season everything he touched seemed to turn to gold then suddenly he just stopped scoring for months.

He had a tough time, just like most of our players, during that terrible run where we went winless and scoreless for weeks - so form plays into it. Part of it is also down to Pearson changing the formation here and there and a lack of supply from our wingers. Oftentimes, he was more deployed in a defensive role, helping out when the opposition was granted free-kicks or corners in our area, so that amount of effort surely took its toll, too - rendering him less effective up front.
10) Scoreline prediction?

I hope for an entertaining game and would surely see us come out of it as worthy winners. A 3-2 home win would be nice. Maybe some of our players also have a bill to settle following that disappointing 1-0 loss at St. James' Park.
