lnkstern Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Please note: This is pure speculation on my part. During the early days after the Cambiasso acquisition, I seem to remember some reporting that he would be helping to set Leicester's formation and tactics. After a good September, we swooned without a win from 27 Sep to 26 Dec. Is it possible that Cambiasso's mucking with Leicester's tactics at least partially led to the long fall slide? It seems that we have regained form and intensity in the last few weeks. This appears to coincide with Nigel seeming to take a more active gametime role as manager, and Cambiasso being relegated to the sub bench. Or am I just mental?
The Doctor Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Do you honestly think Nigel would let the players over-rule him in terms of tactics? That's pretty much your answer.
Burmesefox Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 "swoon" and "fall" - are you a yank talking like that about our game of soccerball?
kingfox Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Nice to see that Col's son has joined the forum. Welcome mate.
Stadt Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Cambiasso will be shipped off to Bolton soon like the other big name players
lnkstern Posted 2 January 2015 Author Posted 2 January 2015 "swoon" and "fall" - are you a yank talking like that about our game of soccerball? Yes, I am a Yank. We speak different variants of the 'English' language .
Tielemans63 Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Think you need to check the definition of the word 'swoon' mate. Unless it means something very different in the US.
MooseBreath Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 I have wondered the same thing a few times. The diamond particularly. But then I can't imagine nige allowing anyone to pick his tactics for him. I just can't see that ever happening. Could he have been influenced? Probably, but it would have been his decision ultimately. Also, nige has a history of swoony tactical tinkering in previous Falls, even before we upgraded with passmaker Cambiasso.
StanSP Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Taken 2 days for conspiracy theories to start despite our form taking a turn for the better.
sylofox Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 FFS Lets blame the tea lady traffic wardens and the Lord Mayor oh and anyone with Ibola.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 I can see where you're coming from - maybe more due to Cambiasso's arrival and presence playing disrupting our team (Drinky and James partnership) rather than him tinkering with tactics though
BoyJones Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Between September and December we just made a shed load of mistakes, which resulted in letting in a shed full of goals. Nothing to do with tactics, just human errors. Can think of 9/10 goals conceded that were plainly individual slip ups / cock ups. Burnley at home Palace away West Brom at home Liverpool at home x 3 Tottenham at home x 2 QPR away Fongers crossed that 2015 will bring an improvement in defending. And my spelling!!
muzzy1981 Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 It has taken a while for us to find a system which allows us to be strong defensively whilst being a counter attacking team and the system we have played the last couple of games suits a lot of our players. Cambiasso has played very well so I expect him to only further improve our performances as part of the midfield two.
cc_star Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Responsible in other ways though The midfield played with much more verve, purpose and energy before he was added to the starting line-up,eg. Everton, Arsenal etc and again more recently when he's been rotated out of the side like against Spurs & Liverpool (A). Against Hull when he played we hardly got a foothold in the game at all despite the team's much improved efforts in this mini-run of better performance levels.

Certainly not Stoke where he turned the game around for us when he came on, not United. Facts are we've played well and crap with him in the team and with him out of it.
MHC Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 If that was the case Pearson would have walked out before the season began
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Nice to see that Col's son has joined the forum. Welcome mate. Shut up KF. No-one thinks you are amusing.
