Matt Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Wonder if a work permit would be easier to obtain should he have signed for Chelsea?
Ric Flair Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Wonder if a work permit would be easier to obtain should he have signed for Chelsea? The angle of Chelsea decided not to sign him because they didn't think he'd get a work permit is what I hope doesn't start to get reported by the media. What a load of bollocks.
Gary Eatfood Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 I think we'll be fine and he'll get his permit.
Mark_from_USA Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 You can research this easily enough to come to your own conclusion. Just search on "UK football work permit denied". Having done this, I believe the chances are good the permit will be granted for these reasons: He is a 10 million pound signing and therefore may qualify as a high-value visa His record at the highest club rank in Croatia is impressive His record in Europa league is impressive He does have the 4 international caps I cannot find an instance of a footballer of this kind of caliber being denied a work permit. There have been a few notable cases of denials, but none with the kind of clear cut record that Kramaric has. With that being said, if its a political decision, it still may go against him, but I don't really find precedent for it.
Carl the Llama Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 http://www.chelsea.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=549338 Sour grapes everywhere I read that article during a break at work earlier. Couldn't stop laughing at the last paragraph - as though we somehow managed to hide the fact we're 20th during negotiations.
tripe Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 http://bit.ly/1Fvsvgf Finally. All in one place. And yes, if it was Mourinho, the request would be granted. I doubt he would even be present at the hearing.
whitwickfox Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Didn't think you could stop individual euro state members from working within the eu. Rejecting a work permit in this case is breaking the European laws and won't happen
Mark_from_USA Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Didn't think you could stop individual euro state members from working within the eu. Rejecting a work permit in this case is breaking the European laws and won't happen There are no freedom of worker movement laws for Croatia. That being said, its actually probably another point in his favor, because it is the EU.
GaelicFox Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 He will have free moment of labour come July 1st That has to come into consideration And he is amazing form at national , European and local level
foxfanazer Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Might just be scaremongering from others but I'm not feeling good about this at all
Soar Fox Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Don't worry ladies and gentleman, the work permit will be rejected and then we will appeal. Leicester think this will be successful. Courtesy of @Newslcfc P.s Llyod Dyer is being considered. Whether that's permanent or loan, like everything else they say they haven't got a clue.
Simmo86 Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Might just be scaremongering from others but I'm not feeling good about this at all Jesus christ! There is no way he isnt going to get a work permit.
foxfanazer Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Jesus christ! There is no way he isnt going to get a work permit. Everybody is saying something different though. Hope you're right mate obviously
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 It's all media bxllocks. They have nothing better to do and claim to be ITK about it. If they said 'he'll get a permit' they wouldn't have any main substance to a story and thus no readers. He will get a permit and will be in our squad come Stoke. LCFC and Pearson wouldn't go to this trouble if they didn't believe so
whitwickfox Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 I just read who would be on the five man panel next week what a total joke One guy from FA Three ex managers One other football guy I can't even be bothered to go back and look for. This doesn't sound very political to me
GaelicFox Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 The Home Office delegates the appeals review task to an independent panel of FA members and independent experts. The panel examines evidence provided by the club to determine if the player is “of the highest calibre” and whether the player is able to contribute significantly to the development of the game at the top level in the U.K. The panel reaches a conclusion, which is delivered to the Home Office. The Home Office issues the final ruling. He will be fine
foxfanazer Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 I just read who would be on the five man panel next week what a total joke One guy from FA Three ex managers One other football guy I can't even be bothered to go back and look for. This doesn't sound very political to me One is definitely gonna be Sean Dyche in disguise
Torten Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 I couldn't imagine the LCFC media outlets being this forthcoming if they didn't know there was a 99% chance that he'd eventually be at the club.
Stevosevic Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 More detail on the process and the panel: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11712/9637160/transfer-news-leicesters-deal-for-croatia-striker-andrej-kramaric-is-50-50-reports-ssn-hqs-rob-dorsett
Jamiebux Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Just seen these on transfer centre on sky sorry how it's posted
Mullet1 Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 One of the key recommendations of FA chairman Greg Dyke’s commission on English football, presented in the summer, was a limit on the number of non-European Union players in the English game - action which, it was claimed, would increase the number of England-qualified footballers, thereby improving the national team in the aftermath of a winless World Cup in Brazil. It's in that climate that Leicester must convince the FA panel that Kramaric can be a benefit to the national game. He is an exceptional goalscorer: 28 goals in 24 appearances for club and country so far this season attest to that. And club officials hope those stats will help sway the decision in their favour. Leicester are leaving no stone unturned in trying to capture a player who they believe could light up the Premier League. I understand the club have already obtained a glowing reference from Niko Kovac, manager of the Croatian national team, but manager Nigel Pearson could play a key role in trying to influence the panel's decision. He's decided he WILL appear before them to argue his case next week. Football's cynics will suggest that if it were Jose Mourinho sitting in front of the panel instead of Nigel Pearson, the chances of gaining a work permit would be greatly enhanced. Sky sources have told me Chelsea were very interested in signing Kramaric, and that having snared him, they planned to loan the striker to Vitesse Arnhem to increase his footballing education. It has been suggested to me that the reason Chelsea didn't pursue their interest, was because of concerns Kramaric would not be granted a work permit. Kramaric's goalscoring record is extraordinary. And there's no doubting his potential, if he's allowed to prove himself in the Premier League. That fact gives Leicester reason for optimism, in their submissions to the FA. And Pearson is confident that he will get his permit. And therefore get his man.
maxwelld_ Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 What ****ing annoys me with the Gov of this country is that our immigration policy is a joke but we have refused a guy who would be paying around 15-20k a week In tax . Let people come in and pay for them and refuse people that will contribute to the economy ! Gota love Britain ! ( I'm not rasist before any muppet says that )
VLC86 Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Pretty sure Croatia is in the EU so he will be fine...... bovril Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 The 'immigration is a joke' posts have started. Complete meltdown imminent.
RoboFox Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Surely the fact Croatia are actually in the EU will help as well. "Even though Croatia became part of the EU in 2013, their Freedom of Movement of Workers status can still be blocked by member states. The UK has applied a restriction of access to the labour market for Croatian nationals until 2020, meaning Kramaric still requires a permit. The 'sports and entertainments' arrangements allow UK employers to bring in "established sports people, entertainers, cultural artists and some technical/support people from outside the EEA". However, as Kramaric has only played four international matches for Croatia, it is believed he fails to meet the eligibility criteria. It means Leicester will have to put their case forward at a tribunal. City's hope is that Kramaric's move will be given the go-ahead through the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme, which allows highly-skilled (hence the name) individuals from outside the EEA to migrate to the UK."
