I've just been reviewing the list of all players successfully appealing under "highest calibre" and below is a list showing all players bought in 2013 / 2014:

Lacina Traore (Ivory Coast) to Everton in January 2014

5/21 (24%) senior internationals in past 2 years

9 goals in 28 apps in Euro club competitions

Willian (Brazil) to Chelsea in August 2013

0/5 (0%) senior internationals in past 2 years

56 apps in Euro club competitions and the transfer fee was £32m

Brek Shea (USA) to Stoke in January 2013

2/12 (17%) senior internationals in past 2 years

Phillipe Coutinho (Brazil) to Liverpool in January 2013

0/4 (0%) senior internationals in past 2 years

18 apps in Euro club competitions and scored 3 goals in 2011 U20 World Cup

Derek Boateng (Ghana) to Fulham in May 2013

13/20 (65%) senior internationals in past 2 years

10 apps in Euro club competitions. Scored 35 goals and 20 assists in 65 matches with FC Twente

Roger Espinoza (Honduras/USA) to Wigan in January 2013

4/15 (27%) senior internationals in past 2 years

Scored against Brazil during the 2012 Olympics with Honduran U23 team

Wilfried Bony (Ivory Coast) to Swansea in July 2013

12/19 (63%) senior internationals in past 2 years

24 apps in Euro club competitions. Dutch Footballer of the Year in 12/13. Club-record £12m transfer fee.

Yun Suk-Young (South Korea) to QPR in January 2013

1/16 (6%) senior internationals in past 2 years

Started all 6 matches for the U23 team that won the bronze medal in 2012 Olympics

Looking at some of those (Brek Shea / Roger Espinoza / Yun Suk-Young particularly) there is no way Kramaric could be denied a Work Permit. A lot of these players have even less than 4 caps and some of them are at U23 level at the Olympics, which does not count as a competitive A team international match, it also suggests that the fact he will be a record transfer fee for us could also go in our favour.

I just wish we could fast forward to next week, I can't take the waiting!

Great work I will sleep much better over the weekend after reading this!

Chelsea distancing themselves from the deal would also mean that if they buy him from us in six months time it looks less 'fishy'.

We know they wanted to buy him and loan him to us but the rules don't allow. What could easily happen here would just look like the rules have been circumvented and the authorities dont like that. (Ie. We have him until May, he scores loads of goals and we stay up. Then, Chelsea buy him in July).

Imagine the fuss one of the relegated sides would make re that (think Tevez-sheff u)

The hearing and Chelsea giving this as the reason for them not pursuing the transfer - all helps as evidence in the event that what I have written happens.

If this was the case why did they bother bidding or making their interest known surely if the are so clever with their dealings they would have known about the loan ruling. It would appear far less fishy if they'd have kept their interest quiet.

Can people not get their heads round the idea that SSN are going to make it sound like a disaster so people watch the channel more to get the latest? They're not going to turn around and say "Yeah it'll be appealed and he'll be a Leixester player in a week's time" because it doesn't give an incentive to keep track of the story.

If it was Chelsea they would say that it will be appealed and he is expected to become a Chelsea player next week, the only thing is you would have no choice but to follow it because they would repeat themselves every five minutes like they are with the Steven Gerrard story at the minute, all because he plays for Liverpool and they won the league 25 years ago. They are all the same, match of the day included. I was watching the FA Cup highlights for the Leicester / Newcastle match and they didn't even show the Leicester goal properly and all the pundits talked about were how bad Newcastle were and Alan Pardew, what about us? We won you arseholes!

They thought he would sign and go to Holland on loan. He wants a guarantee that he would be in their first team squad next season. I expect they didn't realise that would happen.

It looks like you can't keep things quiet in Croatia re dealings. the guys from there seemed to know everything that was going on here!

My conspiracy theory will have some holes in it but you can't dismiss it!

Good analysis but the only slight concern is Dyke has done his foreign players speech since these were accepted, after the dismal showing at the World Cup. They are likely to be much tougher than they used to be as a result. The thing in our favour though is our lack of foreign players and the fact Croatia are in the EU - not to mention the fact he is better than most players on that list lol

It's not like we have a host of current/future England stars being starved of first team football by foreign players.

This deal has really highlighted to me how much I miss the days before the internet, when the first you heard about a signing was when he was holding up a shirt on the back of The Mercury.

Don't get me wrong, I love the internet and social media - I make my living out of social media - but it makes the transfer window ****ing unbearable. We just have to listen to an endless stream of lies and bullshit because we're desperate for even the tiniest bit of information from these twat '@agentITK' Twitter accounts, run by basement dwelling losers, desperate for attention.

Also, I don't give a lusty **** about the world of work permits and relegation clauses. Why the **** is it any of our business what the minutiae of a player's contract is? Its pointless bullshit.

Ignorance truly was bliss.

I don't see how you can make a living out of something, then knock it at the same time. It kinda smacks of biting the hand that feeds Rich?

Social media pervades into all aspects of life, none moreso than Sports really. Ignorance often wasn't bliss and the industry employs millions of people, including yourself. The internet has possibly been the biggest invention in my lifetime and as with anything fantastic, can be abused too.

Can I just say that this is all ludicrous. He has already signed a contract. He is our player. There is absolutely no way we would announce it and have him training with us and spend thousands on agents fees if we even thought there was a chance it would be rejected.

The contract will almost certainly be subject to the player obtaining a work permit.

Just as this section was picking up thanks to the form, the negative Nancy's find another way to try and depress everyone with their bleak outlook on everything.

Posted

In principle a contract can also be frustrated (i.e. discharged) where it is impossible for one of the parties to perform their obligations.

We will just have to wait and see what decision the tribunal make. Either way there is no point in panicking needlessly. It'll either happen or it won't.

So Dorsett is saying that Chelsea didn't pursue the signing because they thought he wouldn't get a work permit?

If they were going to loan him to Vitesse, he wouldn't need a UK work permit.

Posted

I mean, Pearson is even speaking about him on the official site which he does about NO ONE unless we have signed him and unless he was 100% certain he was our player.... there's a photo of him in the Leicester kit speaking to Pearson....

Its a done deal.

Posted

why are people looking for more information, there is a tribunal next week, he has enough behind him to be accepted, just relax, have a drink come back next week.

sick of people worrying.

Posted

I don't think he is allowed to train - training is work for proffesional football player, and for work he need's ... work permit.

He is still technically Rijeka player so he could train without problem.

Posted

I'm worried that I seem to be the only Leicester fan not at all worried that we won't secure the work permit?

Should I be worried. If not I'll go back to living my life as normal and waiting for the formality to be completed.
