Cricket 2015

The lot of them can fvck off, boring, predictable cricket and seen off with games to spare. Outclassed by the best and couldn't cope with Bangladesh.

Just sack Moores now and get a proper coach in who understands players not textbooks. Shocking effort all round.

KP definitely wasn't predictable. How we miss him.

I've always wondered how much of an impact a coach has on a cricket team, until Lehman took control of the Aussies and transformed them.

English cricket is years behind the rest, the whole system needs fresh ideas. Training methods, coaching, selectors and everything else needs looking at.

We are over coached if anything, look at Finn over the last 18 months he was nearly coached out of cricket entirely. There's also too much emphasis on stats, probably brought in by Fletcher and Flower. They can all play, pick the best ODI players and let them play, it's really not rocket science.

Don't think we miss him, we are shackled and predictable. We hardly ever change the batting order with the state of the game, the Powerplays never taken early, love to knock 80 runs in singles between overs 15 and 35. Teams are smashing 350, or 400 quite regularly. We seem to think 270 is a decent score, even the minnows can rack that up and more.

I do think Morgan is slightly unfortunate in that he was thrown into the captaincy very late but his batting is out of sorts and then some. The bowlers stick to their bang it in short and hope for the best policy near the end. Then the batting fails and the bowling is under pressure and vice versa.

Just seen a stat that we've beaten four Full Members in the last seven World Cups. Ireland have beaten 5. Shambolic.

Absolutely pathetic. Glad we are out now rather than in the quarter final.s. Give much more emphasis on how shît we are and how far behind we are even being competitive in this format.

Overhaul required, but it will typical England, constantly changing the team, having no clue what the best team is, playing negative cricket and another disappointing world cup in four years time

I'm afraid I'm not surprised, that's why I put money on Bangladesh, never like backing the opposition but couldn't miss this opportunity.

Embarrassing, gutless, spineless, etc etc...

Their support is admirable but it doesn't help that the Barmy Army are the biggest bunch of happy-clappers in sport. Never show any displeasure at the ECBs moronic incompetency so they will continue thinking they can carry on with their utter bullshit.

If this were Newcastle United the city centre would be littered with horse carcasses by now.

Even the Malaysian cricket team are trolling us  lol

To be honest, given our recent record, we should have to play these sides to qualify. 60% first round exit rate in the last five tournaments. Being a Test side shouldn't automatically give us the right to play in a World Cup when we perform so abjectly.

Actually glad we lost, cannot put up with watching anymore of that shit, it was as bad as when i sit down and watch the county when i finish work.

Had £20 on bangladesh anyway because as i wrote earlier in the thread i just knew we were going to lose.

Where do I start?

The ECB have alot to answer for, we were progressing well, years ago but then it just all stopped, we have now gone backwards.. Things got complicated, coach for this, stats for that, etc, etc

The appointment of Moores was a joke, we needed a new fresh approach, someone who would simply tell our players to do what they are best at & not what "data/stats" tell them what is best

I did a post years back praising the ECB & their progression, I now compare them to the FA and that as we all know isn't a good thing

You can have anyone playing for England right now but until a change is made, until a fresh approach is took we will keep getting worse with that willy puller in charge

Yes players haven't been great, but once again if tactics are wrong, when they are being told to do this & that then maybe the problem solely is with the management..

Buttler should not be coming in at 7! once again team management, Hales should have been starting, Bell should not be opening, etc

Yes our bowlers can be one dimensional but you don't turn crap overnight are they once again being told how to bowl according to them stats/data? Yes data/stats can be useful but it seems this management is obsessed by them

The ECB can sort this out by getting back to basics, getting rid of Moores & getting in someone who is just gonna let the players play to their strengths! Look at what Lehmann did for Australia!

I don't think the grass roots of English cricket are broke, I believe with the right person in charge, players that come in can make us proud again & we can start to be progressive again..

I feel abit for Morgan he clearly has been thrown in under the wrong management & he's probably going to get the boot aswell but if this is all for the benefit of English cricket then so be it

Atherton has just been talking about this and he's said it's a misconception that this regime rely on stats - they're used far less than the Flower era and less than a lot of the teams at this World Cup.
