Spurs away FA Cup

If you think Drinkwater is s*** your knowledge of football has to be questioned.Has he been as good as expected ,clearly not, has he regularly played in his favoured position no, has he regularly played in the two in midfield with James that bossed it last season no.

Our midfield has been disrupted all season with injury, for me it is James/Drinkwater but both have been injury hit.

And yes Drinkwater was poor yesteday but for those hammering him, if you could not see he was nowhere near fit and had been pressed into service because of our situation then you were not watching the game.In the First 20 minutes in he tried to sprint past the centre half on their right side and it was clear he had no pace at all. This guy was top drawer last year and many on this forum were suggesting he could break into the England squad, now he is allegedly pants because of the season so far.Typical.

Haha, I was being melodramatic. He can be very good and I was one of those suggesting he get capped.

I hope this wont be his one shot at the big time

We must use this game to find a formation that we can use for the remainder of our PL away games.

4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 will guarantee relegation when playing sides that only have one up. Perhaps only NP doesn't see this.

I don't think we should rest anybody. We have to try and build momentum

We don't need to rest anyone like the last FA Cup game. I expect Kramaric to start this one and us to put a very strong XI out, injuries permitting.

It's about time we started playing with 11 effective players from the off.

That means no more Konchesky, King, Nugent or Vardy in the starting 11.

Come on then bright spark, who comes in for them?

Why should we rest players when there's no midweek game?

Ulloa and Kramaric up front please. No brainer as it gives them important game time before the league campaign.

Cant comment on CMs as we wont know who is definitely fit but anyone coming back from injury, ie, Cambiasso, should be given a second half run out.

Really looking forward to this game, should be a fun day out. Anyone know how many tickets we have sold and also why we didn't get a bigger allocation?

Schwartzer

Delaet Morgan Moore Konchesky

Albrighton Hammond King Knockheart

Ulloa Kramaric

Schwartzer deserves a start, as do Moore and Delaet

I think Was needs a week off (much as I love him)

King is our most accurate passer so I would prefer him to Drinkwater in order to feed Kramaric.

If Hammond isn't fit then perhaps Moore as a CM, with Wes and Was behind. Moore may be good at a sweeper type role.

I would guess it would be security reasons, thats the usual excuse

Oh yeah I forgot how high risk we are.

It depends on configuration of the ground and if extra away fans can be housed safely, Spurs have given City about 1,000 tickets short but they problem could be as to what part of the ground those fans could be put

Shit is harsh

But he is NOT a premier league player

So you have come to this conclusion re Drinkwater based on 13 starts or thereabouts in the Premiership of which I recall him coming off injured relatively early twice and having played when not fit ,yesterday case in point. A 24 year old midfielder in his first season in the premiership having been a class apart last season is written off by you after completing about 10 games , a number of which not in his favoured position.

You have really thought about this !!

                                Schwartzer

Simpson             Moore            Wes             De Laet

                                     Hammond

  Albrighton               Drinkwater               Knockaert

                    Ulloa                 Kramaric

A rest for Wasyl, Konchesky and Jeff and switch the two up top for the big money men. Kramaric read more of Ulloa's flick-ons in 25 minutes yesterday than Nugent & Vardy have managed all season. Hammond said last week he'll be fit and we need someone to sit there and screen the back four. King was invisible again yesterday and just hasn't got anything to offer at this level. Schwartzer starts simply because I think we need a keeper who can kick it in a straight line.

I'm not having it that Drinkwater isn't good enough. He hasn't had a fair crack this season at all.

You don't need to be bright to see they are not up to Premier standard at the moment and shouldn't start.

Obviously we need a new left back but I'd play Schlupp for the time being and see if he can play down that side with Albrighton.

In terms of midfield I'd go with the long term partnership of James and Drinkwater.

Upfront you don't spend £17m and then have them both on the bench.

King, Nugent to be squad players and Vardy to come off of the bench.

See doesn't take too much working out does it?

May as well go for it, what's the point in football if you don't try to win all competitions. We are highly likely to get relegated anyway so may as well try our luck in the cup. I'm pretty sure Wigan didn't expect to have such a good run so go for it.

Im going to be at the game and really think it will be a hard game for you guys , as against Burnley on Wednesday night we showed that even 2-0 down we can come back and still get a win , And we have alot more depth but i think due to us (Tottenham) having a game during this week to Sheffield united we might play a weaker team and you could take advantage of that, But good luck , I am right next  to you guys as im in Block 34, Will i hear any singing i wonder...... as Burnley was terrible in terms of making a hostile away atmosphere.

Shouldn't the onus be on the home fans to provide a hostile atmosphere which away fans are meant to rally against?

Burnley are just awful all round. Ive personally only been to a handful of away games and weve always made plenty of noise. I went to Newcastle away and we sang all the time in a very quiet stadium. The toon fans were shocking. Hopefully we can all create a good atmosphere and see a good game.
