ADK Posted 19 January 2015 Posted 19 January 2015 Schwarzer De Laet Moore Morgan Koncheskey Albrighton Drinkwater King Knockeart Kramaric Ulloa
kingcarr21 Posted 19 January 2015 Posted 19 January 2015 Schwarzer Simpson Morgan Moore De Laet Albrighton Cambiasso Hammond Knockaert Kramaric Ulloa Will need Hammond back for this game to protect the back 4 and allow Cambiasso to pick out the passes. For me we MUST let Kramaric start the game and get 90 mins in. We cant afford the luxury of breaking him into the team in a league game so lets give him a full game in the FA cup and try and strike up a good understanding between him and Ulloa. Chris Wood i fear his days are numbered and will be gone in this transfer window. Let Lawrence have another run out. Would love to see us get the win and progress but i think a draw wouldnt be a bad result. Getting a replay would give Kramaric another game to get match fit. But im always optimistic and think we may scrape this 2-1. If Spurs play like they did at the KP then they will be there for the taking.

Freeman's Wharfer Posted 19 January 2015 Posted 19 January 2015 Think it'll be: Schwarzer Simpson RDL Morgan Moore Knockaert Albrighton King Drinkwater Kramaric Vardy Hoping that we win for confidence more than anything but if we lose I'll not be losing any sleep over it. Should hopefully be a good day out in London for all of us regardless!

Ian S Posted 19 January 2015 Posted 19 January 2015 I'm not having it that Drinkwater isn't good enough. He hasn't had a fair crack this season at all. Thank god, someone talking sense about Drinkwater.
Katy Posted 19 January 2015 Posted 19 January 2015 Thank god, someone talking sense about Drinkwater. I've been sticking up for him for weeks! I think if we can possibly leave him out for Spurs and get him properly fit (as he clearly wasn't on Saturday, people are forgetting this) then all the better. I can't see this happening though as I don't think Cambi or Hammond will be ready.
ADK Posted 19 January 2015 Posted 19 January 2015 Drinkwater's best game was against Spurs in my opinion. I think he's suffered from injuries and not being able to have a settled run, he's never really been able to get match fit. King is in a similar position. I would start both as I think they would fare better in a cup game which tend to be a little less physical and would gain more from the match practice than Hammond or Cambiasso who would benefit from a week off, maybe Cambiasso to come on as a sub. We also have the chance to give Kramavic his first start and hopefully he can form a partnership with either Ulloa or Nugent.
BigMicky Posted 19 January 2015 Posted 19 January 2015 You don't need to be bright to see they are not up to Premier standard at the moment and shouldn't start. Obviously we need a new left back but I'd play Schlupp for the time being and see if he can play down that side with Albrighton. In terms of midfield I'd go with the long term partnership of James and Drinkwater. Upfront you don't spend £17m and then have them both on the bench. King, Nugent to be squad players and Vardy to come off of the bench. See doesn't take too much working out does it? This clamouring for Jeff at left back is farcical, he has had a couple of decent games there in the past but has never been better defensively than Konch. James was unavailable... Ulloa would have played into Stokes centre backs hands, we went for pace over Ariel ability. There was no way a lad who hasn't played for over two weeks, recently joined/ arrived in this country who is very slight in build was ever going to start against stoke. Anymore? Next.....

My post was based on team selection going forward when we have everyone available Is Konchesky better at left back than Schupp? Really? I think most people agree that after a good start to the season he's been a liability. We clearly need a left back as I previously said. Why has he not played Drinkwater and James on a more regular basis after giving them both 4 year contracts and after their performances last season? Aprpeciate this is literally a different league. Why does he spend £17m on strikers and put them both on the bench? I'm genuinely interested to know your thoughts on team selection going forward as it's really not clear which at this point of the season is worrying.

Pearson went for pace over ariel ability hence didnt start with Ulloa Kramaric isnt match fit which was obvious as soon as he came on. When Ulloa and Kramaric came on we were even worse than when Nuge and Vardy were on the pitch. Just because 2 players cost a lot of money doesnt mean they must play every minute of every game. The opposition must be considered. Going into an ariel battle with Stoke is suicide. Only going to be one winner there
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 20 January 2015 Posted 20 January 2015 Best side possible please, let's build some momentum again
talking_goldfish Posted 20 January 2015 Posted 20 January 2015 We need to go all out on this game, hopefully it will give Ulloa and Kramaric some decent game time to get to know each other's strengths. I'd go with: SchwarzerDe LaetMorganMooreSchluppKnockaertHammondDrinkwaterAlbrightonKramaricUlloaBench: Hamer, Was, Simpson, King, Lawrence, Nuge, Vardy

Trav Le Bleu Posted 20 January 2015 Posted 20 January 2015 Well Kramaric needs to start, we need to get him integrated as soon as possible. My thoughts exactly - blood him in a game that isn't vital.

weller54 Posted 21 January 2015 Posted 21 January 2015 Play the reserves.. This game is meaningless and we don't want anymore injuries to key players...
RokoNZ Posted 21 January 2015 Posted 21 January 2015 No way play the reserves. This game is about getting some momentum and creating some chemistry for Kramaric and the guys around him. Huge game in my opinion. And if during the game they get some combinations going and play well then that's the players that go into the Man U game. Every game is massive from here on out

theadmans Posted 21 January 2015 Posted 21 January 2015 Anyone know when the draw for the fifth round takes place ? Don't want to get too far ahead of myself but the fifth round matches take place during the next school half term. I don't live in Leicester - If we get a home match maybe an excuse for an educational holiday in Leicester to see the new Richard III center (oh and while we are here take in a match!).
SMX11 Posted 21 January 2015 Posted 21 January 2015 What if Kramaric picks up an injury that puts him out for a month?? What if he does it in the first 5 mins against Utd? Injuries can occur at any time, doesn't mean you should throw a game to reduce that risk.
