General Smuts Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Schmeichel Simpson - Huth - Morgan - De Laet Mahrez - Cambiasso - James - Schlupp Kramaric - Ulloa Would say that this is our best 11 (when fit) and put against the strongest 11's from the teams around us I can't in all good conscience say that this isn't better than at least 3 other teams. Swap in Schwarzer since Schmeichel isn't fit and we don't lose much.

GK. Hamer SW.Morgan CB. Huth CB.Wasyl LWB. Schlupp RWB. RDL CM.James CM. Cambiasso CM. Mahrez ST.Kramaric ST.Ulloa Morgan would play behind the back two,being the last line of defence and throwing himself infront of everything. The wing backs would provide the width,getting up and down the pitch. Although it would be 3 CMs,Mahrez would get forward to support the front two whenever possible with Kramaric dropping back when needed. Saying that,it will prob be an unchanged side from the wkend.

Hammond to just sit and help the back 4. De Laet to contend with Arsenals pace down the right. Maybe give Vardy/Nuge another chance off the bench. Really cant see anything other than a defeat and the final nail in the coffin for Pearson.

I'm thinking this is going to be a bit of a bloodbath on the pitch. Maybe 5s or 6s. I've stocked up on a four pack of twix's so I can comfort eat in the aftermath.

You could make it even more solid with Nugent in for Mahrez or Schlupp. Nugent would certainly run his socks off. for me though with wat few chances we will get going forward i would rather see Mahrez and Schluup who look more likely to get a goal. I wouldnt even mind seeing Knockaert in the side. He did well when Mahrez was at AFCON yet seems to have disappeared. Albrighton is another but for me he's best played when Ulloa is in the team. I wonder if this is the type of game that wouldnt suit Ulloa starting but to maybe use as a plan B if were getting mauled.

Stoopid Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Almost certainly not the game to try anything so radical but I did wonder if we now had the personnel to play a Liverpool style 343 formation. Wigan reverted to this formation a couple of seasons back and it also worked well for them. Team would be: Schwarzer Was Huth Wes RDL Hammond James Jeff Kram Nuge Mahrez So basically 3 mobile, fast players up front, who would interchange, with 2 fast wing backs, one holding midfielder (Deano) and James as the box to box midfielder. Anyway, just a thought! Like this idea - tho the wing backs would have to cover lack of pace at the back...but it could work. NP might as well go for it - he's got note to lose!

As I saw on saturday, when Kramaric came on he dropped deep to pick up the ball, really making him ideal for that number 10 role. I would favour a 4-2-3-1 personally. Thoughts?
