David Hankey Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 It's no good looking back at what Pearson achieved, he wasn't taking us forward. Yes, he got us out of League 1 and the Championship but every manager like players have their level and his simply wasn't good enough. After all the hard work over the last two seasons only to be languishing at the foot of the table is not good enough. It's what we do in the here and now and eulogising on what previously happened. Games are fast running out and we're all hoping the team can now do something they haven't been able to do all season - go on an unbeaten rum of 6, 7, 8 games. It's not going to happen now with or without Pearson.
Collo73 Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 wrong decision long term for me but the owners have been patient to be fair. Thanks for the good times nige and what a cracking season it was last year. I for one will clap him when he returns with a new club in the future. Next stop STRINGER out!!!! wrong decision long term for me but the owners have been patient to be fair. Thanks for the good times nige and what a cracking season it was last year. Freeman's Wharfer Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Gave me some of my best days supporting LCFC. Such a shame it's ended like this. Loyalty in football? You only have to look at some of the pillocks on here that have wanted him gone to understand why there isn't any. They make decisions like this supposedly acceptable.
Tielemans63 Posted 8 February 2015 Author Posted 8 February 2015 Some of the comments from some fans are an absolute ****ing disgrace. Best manager in a decade - even if you felt he deserved the sack this season you should have the decency to recognise the fantastic progress we've made in a short time.
Guest ttfn Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Pearson's role in the recent history of this club cannot be overstated. He took over us twice at extremely low ebbs and, with the exception of a few weeks in early 2013 and late 2014 produced the sort of Leicester sides which we all wanted. Players who at least looked proud to wear the shirt, chased every lost cause, worked for each other and for the club. That 2009/10 play-off side he built was probably my favourite of the last 10 years because they weren't particularly talented but he got every last ounce of talent of them. With the exception of Gallagher, his signings have largely been skillful but industriousness and a sense of collective responsibility has been either a pre-requisite on signing or has been drilled into them very quickly (Knockaert, Mahrez). Pearson's teams do not give up (when was the last time we lost by 3 goals in a match which mattered?) and he has been absolutely fundamental in restoring pride to a club which may otherwise easily have ended up like Coventry. It's a real shame because he has done a magnificent job for the most part.
One Legged Beaver Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Absolutely gutted and didn't want him to go, but can understand why he has.
Guest seanfox778 Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Genuinely saddened by this, we're f*****! And not just for this season, for a long long time. Thank you Nigel for all the good you did for us.
chapero82 Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 My worry is who is going to come in and take is back up
GLC Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Thanks for all the memories Nigel! I'm massively disappointed in the decision to let you go! All the best
Jace Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 My worry is who is going to come in and take is back up They'll bring Pearson back when it ****s up next season in the Championship
The Year Of The Fox Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Gutted. Best manager for the job. Best manager since MON. Thanks Nige. Let the typical city managerial merry go round commence
Orange seat Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 So disappointed by this. Thought he'd be able to lead us straight back next season. Thanks for all the good times Nige!
lgfualol Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 I'm gutted. He provided some excellent times for Leicester fans. I'd rather him have stayed. Geh.
bovril Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Sad that it finished this way but his behavior recently has been odd, and the results speak for themselves.
shailen Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Best manager since MON. Sad he's gone but can understand why, however the timing is ridiculous. Must have something to do with his behaviour with Mccarthur
Sharpe's Fox Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 He's a moral led and principled man who made us proud, very sad to see Nigel go.
Mark Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Bad timing isn't it? He's just had the transfer window, signed his old mate to play in goal. Has his son gone with him?
Corky Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 This season has been tough but his four full seasons brought two titles and two play-offs. He took over a failing, unstable club and turned it around. He's got more positives than negatives. Wish him all the best.
Leicestermad85 Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 bet these thai muppets appoint some muppet like uwe rosler and have us back to midtable championship
Dr The Singh Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Good Luck to the guy, he will be back in work very soon!!!
Guest Bilo Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 He gave us our pride back, not once but twice. He gave us the best season in my lifetime. I'm gutted that the Premier League was too big for hum, but will always remember the good times. Thank you, Nige.
6ups 6downs 2 cups Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Sad he has gone, lets remember he has been good for this football club, however we move on, the continuing soap opera that is Leicester City will carry on, for good or bad. At least we have good owners which means even if we do go down as long as they get the appointment right we can bounce back. Thanks for your efforts Nigel and good luck at Sheff Weds!
Marvin Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Very sad. I liked him. It was simply a massive defeat yesterday
LCFC FOX Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 It's a massive gamble now. We're bringing in a manager to try and get this season back which is unlikely but it could still happen. If we still go down though I'd be gutted not to have Pearson still in charge. I want him in charge of the championship. Thanks for everything Nige
Dr The Singh Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Good Luck to him, he will be in work very soon no doubt
