In 20 years time we will look back on his time here and say, yep they were great days to be a City fan.

Those who started following City under Pearson, will probably have the same fond thoughts i have thinking about following City under Jock Wallace, my 'first' City manager.

He has brought nothing but success with us, and taken apart and rebuilt two bad teams. The first by Holloway and the second which was Sven's big spending squad. This season has been disappointing, mainly because we haven't played too badly. BUT it's a results business, and we have been very close to picking up many more points. He doesn't exactly leave us in a destructive position, it is still possible for us to escape, but it is a hard task for whoever steps in. Wish Pearson all the best for the future

The list of possible replacements it's fecking depressing. The Pochettino to Southampton move came out of nowhere and he was an huge success. Is it too much to hope for a similar deal?

Gutted.

Not just for the footballing side, but the way he didn't see the need to conform to what the media might expect from him and the type of man he appears to be.

Wish him well.

Do not underestimate winning League One. How many big teams are relegated to the third tier and don't win promotion at the first attempt? Southampton, Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United, Leeds United, Nottingham Forest, Coventry City... We did it, Nige did it. Not only did we do it, but we smashed the league. Two play off campaigns, one straight after winning promotion from League One, before absolutely romping to the second tier title. Unbelievable.

Pearson restored this club. He cleared up the mess, twice. He did turn this club, our club, around both on and off the pitch. I will remember the good times Pearson gave us because we sat through absolute shite between 2004 and 2008. I just hope that doesn't happen again. I think some of our fans, ungrateful as they are, need a reality check.

im gutted like many of you, not only becasue we have lost the best manager we have had since MON, but also the timing couldnt be worse, a week after the end of the window, with 14 games left, we have no hope now, i thought, knowing us we would play up and snatch a point or 2 off the big teams we have coming up and make a good go during the run in, now though we will have no one in charge for at least the next 2 games. sad day

I'm immensely grateful, he's been a very decent manager at the back end of a very sorry era for the club. That said, I agree with the board's decision and, with hindsight, think it should have come sooner. Of course, their next decision will be the most important one now (if he's actually gone).

hindsight is a wonderful  thing.

he's on a par with wallace, milne, little, and adams in getting promotion  to the top  flight.

he's not even in the top  five lcfc managers.

thanks for getting us promoted at the third attempt.

no  thanks for messing it up this season.

I think everything as been said already but I for one want to thank Nigel for the best two seasons in over a decade when we won League One and the Championship! He's given us some great times and some that were not so great but I believe this season has just been a step too far. My worry is what comes next?

Good luck Nigel, thanks for the memories and 'Leicester til I die'

Are you serious? Did you expect anything other than a relegation battle. You're deluded.

Promotion at the third attempt makes me laugh....two play offs and champions in the three full seasons under him. If that's not good, ask Levein, Holloway, Kelly and co what success is.

Nailed it right there.

Too much pressure,

Saturdays episode helped the owners to close the door on Nigel, now we will never know if he was gonna keep us up.

Ah well - i would luv it for KEV to come and have a go.

It's mad how people have somehow come to the conclusion that he'll never be a premier league manager when he's only had about half a ****in season in this league

He might become a PL manager but he hasn't learned so far this season and I doubt he will by the end of it.

He should take some time out of football, think about where it went wrong this season, and come back stronger for it.

We were at our lowest point ever when he took over and gave us back our pride.

Thanks for last season and all those broken records.

Shame it hasn't worked out for him but I believe it's for the best.
