Damaging the king power brand

Err, yes. Your point being?

They have ploughed a fortune into this club.

The point being if you have a good manager you'll do well whoever the owners are, this club under Pearson was good enough to challenge for the play offs so I don't see the logic in assuming we'd be languishing without them.

Most of the money they ploughed in was paying off the debts that had accumulated from them employing the biggest conman in the game.

Peoples defence of Nigel is quite ridiculous, it may very well be stress related but he is in the spotlight and brings a lot of it on himself.

The owners have been pretty good to him thus far but it is easier to blame them, pundits, the media, match day officials or fans.

Fact of the matter is he is paid a lot of money for a job he is currently failing at and the club I support is bigger than him :P

never should have been relegated. that relegation had been coming for about 6 years.

In terms of individual ability, it was ridiculous how we managed to get relegated. Matt Oakley, Stephen Clemence and Steve Howard were top end Championship players.

We need to give a shit because without them we are out of business. They have saved us more than NP ever has. There could have been no LCFC.

Thank you voice of reason...lovely to hear some of you stating "city til I die" (the fact u post on hear means most of us know that anyway tho)

BUT..if the owners (businessmen) feel they are not getting VFM they may leave.

Then City could end up dead.

Then you will have outlived City.

No ones that myopic that they're ok with that potential outcome.

Long live Thailand!

They should be kissing Pearson's feet, without him we'd probably still be half way up the Championship with the 90mil Sven debt doubled.

Do City fans really give a shit about King Power? I certainly don't.

Errrr........yes, clearly

Whether or not we believe the King Power brand to have been damaged is largely irrelevant. It is the owners perception that matters. They are businessmen and will make decisions on their future involvement and financing of the club based on those perceptions.

The last few days will have been unpleasant for them and they will most likely want to move on as quickly as possible. No wonder that NP was so non-committal in the press conference, I expect that he has been left in no doubt as to how the owners want the club (and by association, their brand) to be perceived.

Put yourselves in the position of being owners of the club.

Firstly you are highly successful businessmen who want the corporate branding to be recognised worldwide.

Secondly you own a football club whom you also want to become successful and be known worldwide.

Would you as an owner like to see a member of your staff pictured in a unsavoury manner as was depicted in the press and on tv this weekend.

Some of you may laugh and say great he's achieved the aim of getting the club noticed!

However as an owner would you want to see this?

Reports of Pearson being dismissed did not surprise me.

I neither love nor hate N.P. he is simply a manager paid to do a job.

From the owners point of view that is to keep us in the Premiership, which it is looking as if he will fail to do.

I am sick of hearing all the usual manager banter "oh well, we know it's a tough league, we are really trying to turn things around, we are still confident etc..........."

The clubs that have sacked their managers generally seem to be rising to the challenge with new one's at the helm.

As an owner who see's this happening would you be tempted to make a change under the circumstances.

I see N.P. as a very good manager in the championship, but lacking the experience to make it in the Premiership.

I don't care about Pearson, I do care about the future of our football club.

From an owners perspective branding and success do count.

I'm completely amazed that top has overruled his dad on the whole pearson sacking and how pearson is still at the helm after all the heat it's bringing on the club its incredible he's still here for all the mistakes he's made his attitude towards many people and he's still here ? The man can walk on water

Interesting that it was Vichai that spat his dummy out in frustration and Top that perhaps had the more measured head on young shoulders.

Never understood why airports sell so much toblerone

It's always more expensive too!!!

Was it that way round??? I hadn't heard that.

Oh dear, we are on to peope slating the Owners now?

Slating the people that enabled us to reach the Prem? The people that have provided our beautiful club not just with financial security but with the cash to make huge improvments, investments and create a winning team of quality players? The people that have actually put A LOT of faith in Nige where most other club owners would hace literally sacked him off years ago, for good? The owners that genuinely leave matters on the pitch to the manager and coaching staff rather than getting involved with the team and fecking things up, making team selections, deciding who to buy? Possibly some of the most dignified club owners in the football league?

People genuinely on here asking why we should give a **** about a bunch of Thais in a country half a world away? You people genuinely know nothing about the running of a successful football club, the work and finances involved.

Jesus this is a joke.

People will believe anything if it gives them a chance to criticise the owners, let's be honest. This whole one owner sacked him one didn't is a rehash of speculation from Gary Lineker, yet if it gives some people an excuse to do some owner bashing it is reported as absolute fact. Ridiculous.

I get what you mean, but tell me again about the successful football clubs you have run

The vast majority of people were in agreement on here sunday night that sacking Pearson would have been a stupid idea, and would have only led to a swifter relegation. If that's what the owners wanted I can understand why people would be frustrated with them, why would they want to put us in a worse position than we are already in?!?

I like our owners, but lets not pretend this current situation isn't a complete farce

That's just not true. Pearson had only 60% support in the match ratings thread and 35% agreed that sacking him was the right decision in a poll straight after the supposed sacking. Sven's support levels were about the same when he got sacked.

The situation is a farce because Pearson has us rooted to the bottom of the league, missing chance after chance while £9.5m worth of attacking talent wastes away on the bench, while he pins opposition players to the ground and throttles them and then starts passive aggressive almost homoerotic fights with all sorts of journalists, to the sheer bemusement of the wider footballing community. Pearson has single handled created this situation that had led us to becoming a laughing stock.

The manager got us to the Premier League, he would probably have done it earlier had he not been kicked out of here (it's hard to believe KP didnt play a role in that either given they were sponsoring us at the time).

Let's be honest, we could be a in position soon where they have made two appointments from their own brain and research in Sousa and Sven, people are right to be worried. We were 100million in debt and half way down the Championship the last time these people got rid of a manager and appointed someone else that wasn't Pearson.

Of course they are brilliant businessman, this is a football club though. Vincent Tan and Tony Fernandes are also super businessmen, it doesn't mean you are automatically brilliant at running a football club.

Steve Howard wasn't arsed, one bit that first season. Have people forgot?

Clemence was a crock which leaves Oakley who offered next to nothing. Mixed with old timers such as N'Gotty, Barry Hayles, random signings like David Bell, the Hungarians, Worley center mid on the final day lol we deserved to go down and needed to to sort us out.

you the 1st person to ever say that about oakley. most people didn't rate him in our l1 season yet alone the following year. so we must have watched a different matt oakley.

as for clemence he was never fit and howard. come on. he decided to turn up after relegation. showed next to nothing before that.

that squad was crap. as was most the 5 years before. our club was in a slow decline for years.

How come you cant extend the same courtesy to Pearson then?

Look at the Premiership table! He's not earning his big fat salary. Money for old rope, if you prefer it. I am talking about Pearson the manager here, and not Pearson the family man. I actually share some of his interests.

Did your pretend mate justify his salary before he buggered off at QPR?
