Vlad the Fox Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Permanent as in he's never going to be sacked or die? Is he Mumm-Ra, the ever living, raaaaaaaaaaa?
wurmer Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 I think it means they'll put his mummified remains in a cabinet in the lobby with that model of Filbert Street.
Happy Fox Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Rudkin hates Pearson... lt hasn’t helped the turmoil at Leicester City that Jon Rudkin, director of football and friend of the Thai owners, has no relationship with manager Nigel Pearson, who is believed to have been sacked and then re-instated on Sunday. Rudkin has been in his role since before Christmas when he replaced Terry Robinson. Before that, he was Leicester’s academy director and he has kept out of Pearson’s way following a previous falling-out. Gary Eatfood Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 100% True Does Nige get on with anyone at the football club?
MC Prussian Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 They hate each other WTF.This is a joke they two can't even communicateIf you believe the stuff the Daily Mail prints (accusations and claims without credible sources), then that's up to you.
GorlestonFox Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 So it really is bye bye Pearson then... Sad face
Albert Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 If you believe the stuff the Daily Mail prints (accusations and claims without credible sources), then that's up to you. On this occasion Daily Mail are spot on. He's very good at what he does and he's very highly thought of by the owners
st albans fox Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 It gets more hilarious by the day It's getting like that bbc3 spoof about the Olympics Maybe we will see James pearson at centre half later ? (And vardy in sticks)
ScouseFox Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 what even is a director of football and why do we need/want one and who is Jon rudkin
Guest seanfox778 Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 what even is a director of football and why do we need/want one and who is Jon rudkin I've always wondered this, no idea what the job actually entails. I'm a bit concerned with this news that him and Pearson don't get on, not really a vote of confidence for Nige.
The Doctor Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Does Nige get on with anyone at the football club? Presumably the players and his backroom staff like Philips, Shakespeare and Walsh.
EnderbyFox Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 So Rudkin is the Director of Football and Andrew Neville is the Director of Football Operations?
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 The one time I have met Rudkin he seemed an absolute willy puller. Birmingham away about 15 minutes before kick off he was blocking the road with his flash car because the security wouldn't let him in the car park as it was full. Gave it the big 'don't you know who I am, make some room,' whilst blocking the traffic.
Pasty1 Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 "Director of football" is a term describing a senior management figure at a football club, most commonly used in Europe. The exact nature of the role is often unclear and extremely variable and causes much debate in the sports media. The term is almost exclusively used in the United Kingdom, with "sporting director" or "general manager" often used elsewhere. The presence of a director of football acts as an intermediary between the manager and the board and may relieve pressure on a manager by handling aspects away from day-to-day coaching, allowing a manager to focus on on-pitch performance. The director may also help to stabilise the club – many examples exist of director stepping in as a caretaker manager on the departure of the manager. The director – often an experienced football figure – may also positively advise a less experienced manager or the board of a less well developed club. In contrast, there are many examples of tensions arising between director and manager, often due to questions over the remit and powers of the two positions; particularly with regard to control over transfer policy. This had led to many well publicised and often, highly damaging disputes within clubs. In general, directors of football are not shareholders in the club, or hold a nominal stake. This is opposed to other members of the board with whom the director of football will sit. So now we know....
escape2victory Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 for anyone querying why we need a director of football or a sporting director, see this excellent piece by Gary Neville on the set up at Southampton: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/11366206/Gary-Neville-The-era-of-the-gaffer-is-over.html
ADK Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 I get the feeling the likes of Rudkin will be involved in choosing Pearson's replacement.
