kingfox Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Worked well last time, so might as well give it another go. Surely we can do a job on Benteke with three CB's.
Captain... Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Another game to get more familiar with the system which will inevitably be used against Everton and Man City. If it works against a team Like Villa then I expect we'll use it for the rest of the season. Fair point but I would still have had RDL in there this formation will cover his poor positioning and his pace will get us out of trouble and help going forwards.
st albans fox Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Sums this place up that no one has posted the villa team! How are they setting up? It's important
lcfcsnow Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 I wasn't expecting to break the oldest defence record so quickly.
ADK Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Happy with that XI, would have loved to see Hamer in the goal though.
ScouseFox Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 like it. invite villa onto us knowing full well they can't score for shit, then mahrez, schlupp and andrej run really fast an skilfully the other way and we win 18-0.
davieG Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Villa: Given, Hutton, Cissokho, Clark, Vlaar ©, Bacuna, Cleverley, Westwood, Delph, Weimann, Benteke. Subs: Guzan, Okore, Sinclair, Cole, Sanchez, Lowton, Grealish.
l444ry Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Good team selection. Can't see Simpson and Konchesky just camping as full-backs as some fear.Â
benpicko Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Could be the perfect game to bring Vardy on in the hope he nicks a goal / puts in a good shift to try and regain some kind of confidence. Â Then why have Ulloa too? Vardy and Ulloa would both be coming on in place of Kramaric whereas Nugent could replace one of the CB and play behind him, a position both Vardy and Ulloa are useless in. Maybe Pearson just wants to have Vardy on there to replace one of the wingers and piss everybody off when Albrighton should have come on

benpicko Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Kramaric can play in the hole innit o yh tru bruv gud point
Riot Van Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Why are people arguing that this formation isn't offensive? Â Did you watch the second half against Arsenal?
Guest Bilo Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 A good line-up that did very well at Arsenal and attacked relentlessly. It provides a lot more flexibility than 4-4-2 and offers the defensive solidity we've lacked. Â I'm a little more confident of progression now. 1-0 win, Kram Dog again.
sly1 Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Happy with that but Morgan please have a better game a.up the blues 3-1 city.
Finnegan Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Whoever the idiot with the Jedward hair on sky sports is has just looked at our side with Mahrez, Cambiasso, Kramaric and identified Schlupp as our best player because of his "great left foot." Where do they find these people?
Mark Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Why are people arguing that this formation isn't offensive? Did you watch the second half against Arsenal? Villa aren't going to be as open as Arsenal are they? Unless Sherwood has transformed them in a day.
st albans fox Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Villa: Given, Hutton, Cissokho, Clark, Vlaar ©, Bacuna, Cleverley, Westwood, Delph, Weimann, Benteke. Subs: Guzan, Okore, Sinclair, Cole, Sanchez, Lowton, Grealish. Thnx Looks like weimann supporting bentecke. Tactics will sure be interesting. they are unlikely to commit and allow us to break on them. We are short middle and up top. Could be a cat and mouse affair with them having 65%+ possession (Boring? First goal wins?)
Riot Van Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Villa aren't going to be as open as Arsenal are they? Unless Sherwood has transformed them in a day. Â Suppose...
lgfualol Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 In york all day. Twitter updates. Decent team apart from Morgan
boki Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Happy that we can see again Mahrez,Schlupp and Krama up front, expect more nice build-up play and some goals from Krama and Mahrez
HitchinFox Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Happy with that team. Unreasonably excited!  On another note, I'm at the ground now, but not happy with where I've had to leave the car. Hope the feker is still there at 3pm.Didn't realise how bad this area (north of the city centre) has got. Or is it just me? Have I stayed in leafy Hertfordshire for too long?Â
MooseBreath Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Pleased we're going with this formation again. Created plenty against arsenal, hope for more of the same, it would be great to develop a bit of confidence with this system with a win.
Fox on the edge Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Why am I at a children's party instead of in front of the TV watching this?
Finn Claw II Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Hammond for Morgan but other than that happy with the team. Â Â This is IT - we are going to click and score 4 today
