Chris Wood on loan to Ipswich - Recalled

Recommended Posts

Mate from work (Ipswich Fan) has come in this morning - "Chris Wood is the worst player he's seen at Ipswich in a long time"

Does he have a future at Leicester?

Wood himself admitted he had a shocker last match tbf. Think he still may come good but seems to be a player who needs consistent game time to me

More than good enough at that level but he's possibly lost his way a bit as he's stagnated at Leicester. We should have flogged him when there were various teams after him for £2 million as I can't see him doing much again for us.

I think he'd thrive at a team like Derby where they play balls to feet and rely on a big centre forward with good technical ability to move the rest of the team forward. Ipswich are more of a direct side than that, I believe.

He's a target man who can't head the ball. With the ball to his feet he's a decent player, but we just never played to his strenghs.

He's proved at championship level he is more than good enough.

Scored plenty of goals, and looked a really good prospect before we ruined him.

When played regular, and actually given a game, he's probaly the best finisher we have, before kramaric signed, but we are yet to see the best of him.

Love Chris Wood. Recall him and get him playing in the first team. Not even joking....

lol   :o

He is another player that has got too big for his boots, we haven't ruined him, he just hasn't cut it for us, even at the back end of last season he was terrible, we should of sold him in the summer.

I'm sorry I disagree, Chris Wood is our saviour.

Love the we should have sold him comments I guess thats NP fault.

Have people forgot we tried to but he did not want to go.

Like any player with a contract it is his choice not the clubs.

He's a good championship striker as he's proved. He's just not ready for the premier league yet. With regular game time he'll find form. But I don't think it'll be with us as well have 4 better strikers next season

Unfortunately I think it might be time to get rid of Wood, he made a great goalscoring start here but has done very little since. Yes, he can produce the odd moment of magic but he doesn't play well enough regularly enough.

He's not quick, he's not great in the air and his first touch is, in my opinion, pretty poor. Also, his height encourages us to play a long ball gane which doesn't suit us at all.

Clearly he can finish but that can only take him and us so far, I'd try and get rid in the summer, a shame as I and many others thought he had a great potential, but I don't think he'll ever become the striker we thought he would.

Is he tho'?

I like Chris Wood and I would have liked him to have succeeded (obviously) with us but the reality is that he has never held down a regular first-team spot at any club,  He didn't get in to our team when we were successful at Championship level and he is currently a sub at Ipswich.

Does wood have a future at Leicester? Of course he does. He will hopefully get more game time next season. He's one of the younger players in our ranks and I have a great belief in youth. I think with more games he'll be a very good player. We'd be foolish to let him go but that's only my opinion.
