davieG Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Loan cut short as Foxes recall striker Chris Wood’s loan to Town has been cut short with the striker recalled by Leicester. The New Zealand international joined Blues at the end of February in a deal that would have taken him up to the end of the season, including the Play-Offs. The Foxes, who lost David Nugent to a calf injury before kick-off in their 2-0 win against Swansea last weekend, have activated a release clause though and Wood is now back at the King Power Stadium and could feature for Nigel Pearson’s side in their crucial trip to Burnley today. The 23-year-old made eight appearances for Town in his time at the club, five of them from the bench. Read more at http://www.itfc.co.uk/news/article/chris-wood-2422041.aspx#vpAF1hUqAER7ldJs.99
Foxymcoxy Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Damn, that doesn't sound good for Nugent. Clearly more than a game or two he'll miss.
Lestoh Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 If he can repeat the beauty he scored at Turf Moor last season, I say welcome back. Having said that, I'd imagine Kram will get the nod over Woody.
Tielemans63 Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 If he can do a bit of this again no-one will be complaining.... ....it's unlikely though!
Guest Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Sounds bad for Nuge. Is there another injured striker too?
ousefox Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Makes sense if we're continuing with 3 strikers even if Nugent was fit.
Captain... Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Is Wood another who has suffered from the sport science approach, I mentioned this in another thread that sport science limits the amount of drilling exercises players do. Someone like Wood needs to work on his heading to become a better player but sport science limits that, so whilst he has probably improved his fitness he hasn't developed some of the key skills.
st albans fox Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Ipawich journo on Twitter bemoaning the fact that Nuge messes up their season even when he isn't playing in the same league!
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Even without Nuge, need 5 him for the formation we're playing, only takes 1 injury and there's no realistic options from the bench.
RowlattsFox Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 He's barely played for Ipswich anyway, 10 mins at the end of games from what I have seen.

cityfanlee23 Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Still fancy chris wood to be a Key part of Leicester city if given the chance. His potential is very very good.
Benguin Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS I LOVE YOU CHRIS WOOD!!!! Wood and Kram up front together would be immense Not even joking!
cityfanlee23 Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS I LOVE YOU CHRIS WOOD!!!! Wood and Kram up front together would be immense Not even joking! I'd like to see it.
st albans fox Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS I LOVE YOU CHRIS WOOD!!!! Wood and Kram up front together would be immense Not even joking! You're off on one again Ben!
Benguin Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 You're off on one again Ben! Honestly think they'd be great. Wood wins every ball but is either isolated or is poor with it. If he wins the ball and a technically gifted player like Krammy is there to provide the class touch we will be banging them goals in! Plus he is a proven premier league goal scorer!
Danno Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Chris Wood is absolutely horrific. Can't wait until we get rid of him.

MPH Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Worries me some what that someone who couldn't get a game for Ipswich in the championship is recalled to play a part in our prem survival bid...
cityfanlee23 Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Worries me some what that someone who couldn't get a game for Ipswich in the championship is recalled to play a part in our prem survival bid... wouldn't look too much into that, Their top scorer has 24 and is the most lethal in the league... Their other striker we bid 10m for, so we'd have been playing their striker in our survival bid should we have signed him.. instead we are playing ulloa
iancognito Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 I think it's just as a precaution. Nugent's calf could be a 2-3 weeker as most calf injuries are and Nigel saw what happened last week when it left us with no other attackers on the bench. Moore got recalled too and hasn't been anywhere near the squad again yet. For the record, Wood is championship at best. His first touch is awful and I can't see him getting in ahead of any of our current front 3/4.
