Honestly..who can defend Pearson now

Burnley play a settled side and have plenty of fight with an inspirational manager to boot.

Total opposite to us

Daft comparison. They've won once in the last ten and until City today people were saying their side looked jaded and he'd picked the same team too often. If we'd played the same team for 5 or 6 games and got the same results Pearson would have been slated for not changing the side.

Said it all along...back as far as late October when Pul is was available.

Everyone ridiculed me but who can honestly say they disagree with my judgement now nor would love to turn back the clock and see a change....Pearson just was not ready...sorry harsh because he got us up but loyalty in football gets you no where these days as we are testament to.

Pulis wasn't allowed to talk to clubs until the start of the year due to contractual detail when he left palace. He wouldn't have come to a club so threatened by relegation at that point. He chose Wba, an established premier league club who weren't in the relegation zone. To be fair to the owners, there wasn't an obvious candidate to replace NP in October who would actually come to us, there was an admirable sense of loyalty from them after the sven debacle at the beginning of their tenure and they also didn't have the advantage of hindsight that we would continue this god awful run.

It took him two and a half years last time, and he had another season before that, and we're a weaker and much older side than we have been in many years. So I'm confused as to why people think he'll do any better next time. We want a quick return, and under a manager who can start to build a side which will not find the transition to top flight football quite so insurmountable. There's no reason to believe Pearson is that man, and even if he is, we'll be looking to replace him pretty much as soon as we get promoted again because he is as bad a manager at this level as there has ever been.

I just think after "sackgate" the owners will play it safe & give him a chance to take us back up.. Would I personally? nope as he's made to many mistakes & yes we could get a new manager in he takes us back up & we see the same errors being made, nothing is for certain

But in the end you gotta take risks....

Ill be very happy with Warburton next season. If Pearson is in charge next year ill go shopping with the Mrs instead.

Does anyone else think Pearson is sabotaging our season because of the 'firing' fiasco?

He doesn't look overly bothered in the stands, dugout, interviews.

No rallying cries, just we didn't play well enough, we have got to win 5 out of 10 games, knowing he's only managed four all season.

I don't think he is doing it on purpose, but I think he knows his days are numbered, and hasn't got a clue how to win, and couldn't careless.

pearson sounded unsure and wobbly in his post match interview.  he suggested it was the players who were not responding to  the situation.  I would suggest that he has shown a season long in ability to adjust the shape and tactics of the team to the situations (i.e. the games and what happens in the games) - he is always so one dimensional!

Today he was in a must win game- to save our ten year struggle for PL -  he put up a cautious and defensive formation.... as if he was playing he first leg in a champions league tie away at FC barca...  yet he was at home in a game we had to chase.  He persisted with three centre halves - he played Kramaric alone up front (not his best position) - as Ulloa showed, it needs some muscle to face off with big PL defenders one on one - yet Ulloa was on the bench.  Half time came and went with no change in fayre.... just like at villa (he is unable to change anything!)

All season long he has shown how he doesn't learn he just keeps on doing his tone dimensional thing... and guess what - every week we get he same result.

Now you can argue about timing etc - but messages and standards are important too . IMO the board to give him a P45 immediately to say that what we saw today was unacceptable.... not in the execution but in the ambition!

All too late, no doubt most of the keyboard warriors on here who are now giving constructive reasons as to why he should be given the chop are the same ones posting the condescending replies on the various Pearson out threads, making it justifiable giving him more time!

In reality he should have gone after the disgracefull home defeat to west brom in October, remember the team with the two tactical geniuses on the touch line, Alan Irvine and Rob Kelly. I remember it well as i believe it was what prompted the popular 'that's it Pearson needs go' thread.

And are still 6 points in front of us, shows how bad we are

Finally some sense! Have been berated by so many people for not being 'loyal' to this man! Absolutely joke... You can't go without a win for 11 matches in this league and keep your manager! Joke

To be fair a loaf of Warburtons would be more useful than Pearson

I still can't forget the night of Pearsongate. It was astounding. It really should be bumped. If the Thais don't think they made a big mistake then, they probably do now.

It's pointless now, has to go at the end of the season though.

It's not too late until it's mathematically impossible! Get rid and roll the dice... Can't get worse

Hmmm no I still say give him more time give him another olive branch if he's not been given the whole tree.

He's already been given the grove

He's been a big let down to both the team and to the fans, he did fantastic last season but that was last season in a different league. This season he was found out much earlier on but the owners just didn't react, the right time would have been the loss against Liverpool at home, not just performances but also the incident with the fan which was very unprofessional. Pearson as failed and for me we'll be needing a fresh start in the summer as I fear the negativity will continue into next year, maybe Paul Lambert to takeover in the summer?

I have become utterly sick of Pearson's attitude, his demenaour, his tactics and his team selections. The substitutions he made today were crazy.

I genuinely think he's been putting up the metaphorical two fingers at the fans for bulk of the season.

The defenders of him need to come out of the woodwork and make comment. I'm not mentioning names..but you know who you are.

I'm just so fvcked off, it took us 10 years to get back into the big time & we are going straight back down!

Oh well we can look forward to the new Sky Sports documentary during the summer...

The Fall & Rise & Fall Of Leicester City

And how arduous those ten years were... One could think we all should know better and have more patience when it comes to establishing oneself in the Premier League (which in itself isn't such an easy task).

However, some of the performances this season have truly been sub-par, some of our most reliable players have been found out, our defense has been shaky in more games than I had hoped for and we are lacking a few players in the middle of the park with the ability to create chances or with the brain to set up our forwards.

Some of it is down to a poor buying policy last summer - you can still argue whom to blame for that. The manager or the management for making the wrong choice(s)? Or the lack of decent players available at the time (e.g. the market situation)?

Still, it's not over until it's (mathematically) over.

Most people on here tonight are just pissed that Burnley beat Manchester City, simply adding further to the already existing bitterness and resignation.

In the end, it wouldn't be so unrealistic (and unexpected) for all three newly-promoted teams to go straight back down again...

I, like many others will be forever very grateful for his two promotion seasons and the great times we had along the way, however, don't forget it hasn't all been rosy, he walked out on us to go to Hull, we threw away a promotion the season before last with an awful run and despite many opportunities he has never been an approachable manager who endears himself to the fans and at times has been overly arrogant. Up until today I would have given him the (reducing) benefit of the doubt but after that selection and half arsed effort even I would say he is clueless. No need to wait until the summer as it can't get us in a worse position than now and quite frankly we haven't beaten the teams we have left to play so far so there's no real chance of us going on a miraculous run which means there's nothing to lose by changing him now!
