Parafox Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 I'll type it again, PEARSON WAS TACTICALLY DONE OVER BY ALAN IRVINE and ROB KELLY!! Maybe, but... WHO'S THE DADDY? The boss is the boss. The tail should never wag the dog.
the-blue-wildabeast Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 In fairness to the players (And clearly they do deserve some blame), it helps if you play players in positions they are comfortable in, and maybe why you signed them, picked a balanced side, formations and tactics based on your squads weakness's and strengths, that gives the club the best chance of results, without letting your own personal issues get in the way.
m4DD0gg Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 He clearly needs to do some media training.......but that aint gona happen. Once he has been given the tic tac no one in the right mind will give the neanderthal a chance in the prem. In addition once we are relegated his contract situation will look very different, not long (fingers crossed).
ImBlue Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 Whilst I dislike Stinger and think he's a prick, I'd have loved Stringer to do an interview with Pearson this afternoon, would have been hilarious, Stringer would have really got under Pearson's skin, wound him up. Is it all stringer though? Doesn't seem to take much to get under Nigel's skin? Let's list: - fan questioning players commitment - player falling into him/'I can look after myself' - journalist asking if he agrees with surrounding referee Seems he's just a pretty angry person.
Bayfox Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 Does he have a split personality? I enjoyed him on fantasy football this morning. That however seems like a different bloke. Granted one we see more often. I just don't get it tho.
Donut Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 That interview is not acceptable. Not acceptable in any form. That, im afraid, is going to become news tomorrow. Very sad.
johnny the fox Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 When you are not enjoying a job most people would give their right arm for its time to go and do something else .. football is a media business, somebody should remind the man..
MooseBreath Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 If the media make a big deal out of that in the morning them he's sacked tomorrow evening imho
Cropwellfox Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 Can they not sack him for this? Gross misconduct? I mean seriously his on field decisions are bad, but his off field antics are dragging the club through the mud. He's become an embarrassment, behaviour more and more erratic as the seasons gone on. I've posted elsewhere but his arrogant rant after Burnley was awful at the time but just the first of 5 or 6 incidents in the last 6 months.
foxinsocks Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 His bbc clip put he blame on the player who had "not responded to the the situation" - funny he didn't include himself!
Dickov22 Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 If the media make a big deal out of that in the morning them he's sacked tomorrow evening imho Let's hope they do then
st albans fox Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 His bbc clip put he blame on the player who had "not responded to the the situation" - funny he didn't include himself! I don't think the players will be too happy at that. Behind the scenes, he may reassure them but he should be shielding them from pressure, not hanging thm out to dry.
Webbo Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 So he called a journalist a ****, so fvcking what? Pearson should have been gone at xmas but making a big deal about non stories like this is pathetic.
Cropwellfox Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 If the media make a big deal out of that in the morning them he's sacked tomorrow evening imho Oliver Brown, telegraph writer, has picked up on it. See who else does over next couple of hours..
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 Today's the day I've turned. Always been a huge Pearson fan and I really wanted us to keep faith with him, learn with him and reap the rewards. Unfortunately we've not been showing enough to warrant anymore faith with, and patience in, him. I had no particular concerns with the starting 11 today as I have done at times over the last few weeks (Morgan not being dropped perhaps one but I can see why he wants to keep faith in his captain) but I did express surprise at seeing Lawrence on the bench given that he's looked nothing other than like a kid playing adults' football whenever he's had an opportunity. In terms of the match itself, we were poor but so were Hull. That first half was crying out for us to press them high and force the (inevitable) errors higher up the pitch but instead we were often too deep and had so many players back that it was almost impossible for us to fashion an opening amongst the swathes of Hull defenders - they were the away team so understandable that they'd want to be cautious, less understandable us being so. We screamed of being the side of a manager afraid to lose. But guess what? We need to start winning some games and by being scared to lose you don't do that. At half time we were lucky to be at 0-0 after that Jelavic chance. Would Nigel change it? Second half we were equally sloppy but when we went at Hull there were hints of openings, why couldn't we just go for it and take the game to them? With 20 mintues to go we're gifted a golden opportunity to get an all-important win and I wanted to see a positive sign of intent with immediate changes to go after the 3 points. Instead we got one change (the kid) followed by another 10 minutes later with Hull well into the groove of dealing with all we had to throw at them. When it seemed the whole stadium wanted us to take one of the three centre halves off for an attacking player, why did it take so damn long? Too often this season he's staggered substitutions to the point where they're not worth making as the player coming on barely has time to get up to speed with the game. Reactive not proactive too many times. Not for the first time this season I walked away from the stadium having seen us unable to score against very poor opposition and absolutely seething that the decisions of the manager had contributed greatly to that. I looked at that side today ambling around trying to find a way through a terrible Hull team and just thought how far away it was from everything we were last season (fast, direct, intense, hard-working). Now we have a keeper too old to kick further than halfway and terribly slow, a crocked centre back jogging round hoping that his legs hold out, a central midfielder class on the ball but too slow to reach any loose balls and a lump up front with questionable work-rate and who seemes to encourage us to aimlessly hoof it his way whenever he comes on. We've lost our identity. In his desperation to get some experience on the field, Pearson's lost his identity. I just feel that he needs to take a step back from this season, reflect, and then learn from all that's gone wrong. Unfortunately I don't think we will get the benefit of him learning that lesson and it'll instead be his next club. If we do stick with him it'll be a long, old journey to the end of the season and I dread to think what more could be ruined along the way.
johnny the fox Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 TBF I don't think pearson has changed that must, its just that this stuff would be overlooked when things were going well.. he has always had a mardy streak, ..bet they run for cover at home wnen the front door opens..
Parafox Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 Didn't you see the outrage when Pearson got fake sacked? Most of the football community would have said a newly promoted club struggling in the premier league has little to gain from sacking the manager. So it's a bit harsh to start blaming the owners for not sacking him, them not sacking him has got nothing to do with a lack of knowledge of English football, English fans, English culture, English breakfast or any other definitely not racist suggestions you made. Oh jesus (sorry if that offends you). I was not at any point in my comment making any suggestion that it is down to the Thai's not being English. Purely that ANY, I repeat ANY, business that buys a football club might, I repeat MIGHT, not have a full undestanding of the importance of the leagues, the clubs and us (including you) and the desire to succeed. King Power wanted an in-road to English football to promote their product and happened to choose LCFC. It could've been Burton Albion but it was us. They saw a possible business opportunity to strengthen their sales in the UK and possibly Europe. My point is that, due to their business motivated ambition, they have failed to understand what it actually means to the fan base and have therefore stuck with NP because they don't get it.
Donut Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 So he called a journalist a ****, so fvcking what? Pearson should have been gone at xmas but making a big deal about non stories like this is pathetic. Its not a non story. Its another to the growing list of ridiculous incidents that are dragging the club through the mud. There is NO need to call someone asking a question a ****. Its that simple.
adam Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 Jesus. It wasnt even a difficult question to answer. The man is a disgrace.
st albans fox Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 The journo was pushing it too much. (It's his job to I guess). Pearson fronted him as he always does. He must have given assurances to the that's that he wouldn't do this kind of thing again and bring the club into some kind of disrepute. Non story or not, it gives them the perfect opportunity to get rid now if they want to. I would suggest that there is no one out there to replace him, just as there wasn't a few weeks ago. He knows he is going come the end of May. Seems he doesn't give a sh*t but he does care about his players. Or does he care about his reputation as a manager who wouldn't allow his players to behave in a certain way? Not too sure. tomorrow could be another soap opera. if I was col, I'd be getting my application in, pronto!
GingerrrFox Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 So what if he called someone a ****? People acting on here like they are whiter than white and have never lost their rag with someone at work. ****ing hell it's like Loose Women in here with some of you lot.
Donut Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 Journalist: "How do you respond to Steve Bruce's comments that your players surrounding the referee were akin to what we saw in midweek at Stamford Bridge.......continue question similar phrasing" Manager: "No i think the comparisons are unfair. Weve got an honest bunch here..........these situations can happen in the heat of the moment............continue answer in similar fashion" There. Its not hard to answer a question without either being personally offended by it being asked, or resorting to calling the person asking a P.rick. So what if he called someone a ****? People acting on here like they are whiter than white and have never lost their rag with someone at work. ****ing hell it's like Loose Women in here with some of you lot. Ridiculous.
Dickov22 Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 I think it was the 'waxing away' comment that really pissed him off. Not surprised, it isn't even proper English. Disgraceful from NP though. It's as if no one is allowed to ask him anything
Phube Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 But he did have the temerity to mention waxing and waining... ****!
