Donut Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 You keep using this phrase "by your logic" but I don't think you understand the concept of logic. But keep believing that sacking Nige will improve the results if it helps you sleep at night. Fact is that the squad isn't ready. So woefully lame.
lifted*fox Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 Maybe the owners are blessed with patience and see this as a long term project where potentially we might go up and down a couple of times before we establish ourselves in the top flight of English football. Maybe.
Guest MattP Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 Hopefully I'll be hanging my head in shame tomorrow or at worst next Monday. Never want people to lose their jobs but he won't be potless and sounds like SW will employ him. Every team in the Championship will want to employ him given the last time he was in the division he won it with 100+ points.
Raj Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 Every team in the Championship will want to employ him given the last time he was in the division he won it with 100+ points. No one in the Prem though!!!
Swiss_tony Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 Every team in the Championship will want to employ him given the last time he was in the division he won it with 100+ points. so one out of three seasons he won promotion, two out of three he didn't. of course he will be employed elsewhere, but frankly who cares?
Callabinho Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 There is no long term, NIgel has ****ed any chances of that, he's disgraced the football club this year and upset too many people to ever be a success again with Leicester City, most of my mates all support other teams, last season they loved us and we were their second favourite team, this season they can't wait to see us relegated, not becasue it's Leicester, becasue of Nigel, people don't like him and in turn they don't like us, his conduct has been appalling this season, forget his achievements last season he needs to take a long hard look at himself.
foxinsocks Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 I think his recent antics plus his poor tactics and now blaming the players - plus ego and hubris will make employers wary... he will have to comfort himself in his mansion.
queensguardfox Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 Well I applaud your honesty - and that wasn't meant to be a condescending comment, but I genuinely can tell that you have yet to see a great City side in harmony with strong astute management. I agree that we must live in the present, but I made the same point when a member on here suggested that this year Jeff Schlupp has made the LW role 'his own'. Your assessment of our performances this season are generous to say the least. Given your enthusiasm, had you have been around in the late 90's for example instead of being simply a stain on your Dad's Yfronts, I think you may have shot your load just purchasing a pre-match programme. I was around, but merely around 10-13yrs old in the late nineties so i do remember it clearly but not old enough to really delve deep and massivly read arpund the team and work to go to the games like i do now... but of course the late 90's team will be better then this one because thats when we wwre at our best so i dont get why comparing them to them achieves anything. Im supporting the team and believe changing management will only make us worse.
queensguardfox Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 No one in the Prem though!!! Surely if we are relegated its in our best interest to keep him

Im supporting the team and believe changing management will only make us worse. Read my original posts again. You completely miss my point. I'm not comparing them, I'm commenting on the fact that you are very generous in your praise this season for a team that has put in some frankly diabolical performances under utterly appalling management. The fact that you are so easily pleased lead me to speculate that you may have not been around for that long.
Callabinho Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 Why should we care I don't care what other fans think of our club, but potential players/potential investors might, I'm shocked the owners haven't sacked him yet, he is becoming a joke.
Tielemans63 Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 Taking NP out of the equation for a minute I have yet to see one suggestion of a replacement that is both realistic and a clear improvement on Nige. MON - Not going to happen, he's only just into a contract with Ireland, a job share is not much use to us Big Sam - the guy thinks he should be managing at the highest level - there is no chance he'd take the LCFC job Mark Warburton - The guy has achieved one promotion...that's literally it. Eddie Howe - Not going to leave Bournemouth now, plus he seems like one of those guys who's awesome for a club he loves - was average at Burnley Tony Pulis - he didn't come here, he may never have come here, who knows? Either way he won't be here anytime soon. Get the **** over it. Tim Sherwood - As above Karl Robinson - Despite the plaudits he's recieved he's probably underachieved slightly at MK Dons If anyone has a genuinely plausible suggestion then fair play but the only one I can think of is maybe Aitor Karanka but that would only be if Boro don't get promoted and at that point do you still want him? It's all well and good giving NP the boot but there's no-one out there you think 'yeah - he'd be perfect for us'.
NotTheMarketLeader Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 He has had some horrendus results like the 8-0 loss and the 4-0 loss yesterday at home against Southampton and Villa respectively. They play some horrid football and just for that he deserves to go. We on the other hand, although we are underperforming, have looked a threat in almost every game, and at least we show intent whereas teams like Sunderland don't. What was refreshing to see was how their fans reacted on Sky Sports saying that it was the players fault, not much too do for the manager. Very similar to our situation. I know people will tell me he plays the wrong formation/bad tactics but he has changed this so many times throughout the season and it has not worked once yet. Tactics are only good if your players perform and produce the quality. We haven't. If we put 10 at the back it doesn't mean we wont concede and if we play 10 in attack it doesn't mean we will score. The players have to perform and that's what the underlying problem has been and remains. Take their chances. Although, if we go down I wouldn't overhaul the squad. I would keep most the players in and make a few tweaks to it because I believe these players have the quality but have not produced it I don't go for this idea at all. However, if you insist it's the players fault, then it is STILL PEARSONS FAULT. He built the team over the last two years. It is 'his' team. Do you not understand his objective this season? - Not to end up in the Championship again back to square one, but for us to remain in the PL. I fail to understand the lack of comprehension on your part of that simple idea. He has failed, in almost every conceivable facet of his job. It has been an absolutely disgraceful showing by the management. If they had any scruples whatsoever they would have tendered their resignation long ago.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 I disagree with this notion that you have to identify the perfect candidate based on the number of promotions they've won or whatever. If you had to have achieved something before every time you went for a job, you'd never get one in the first place and nobody would ever become employed. Pearson was a pretty unpopular appointment first time around if I remember correctly. If I had to pick someone, it would be Warburton. His commitment to the club as a whole at Brentford seems impressive from an outside view, seems to play good football and develops young players. Just because he hasn't won the Championship and Pearson has doesn't necessarily mean he shouldn't be considered. Some interesting stuff about him in Nowhere Men, the Michael Calvin book about scouting.

Oh there are no alternatives so we must stick with him? A change is as good as a rest? Fresh ideas fresh impetus a change of direction? Ask Forest fans what they think of Dougie Freedman at the moment then ask Bolton fans the same thing? Truth is we are stagnating under Pearson this season I am getting sick of his stupid tatics and woeful team set up and direction. His clueless substitutions and this groundhog day play five at the back thing? Liverpool tonight set up with this so called 3 4 3 tonight against Swansea. It looked totally different to Nigels so called 3 4 3 on Saturday against Hull. You are assuming Howe, for one wouldn't come? What's wrong with Warburton? I have watched Brentford a lot this season and they play exciting attacking football not our turgid, boring, crap that we are playing at the moment. Here is some more names for you, Lennon, Karancar, Mclaren, Lambert. We need a new direction, someone with fresh ideas someone who is not frightened to set us up to at least attack the bloody opposition something we have failed to do this season.

My man concern with Warburton woudl be that he only has 2 years experience as a manager - for me personally that's not enough to qualify him to manage a club of the size of LCFC. There was a smilar situation with NP but we were in League 1 at that time and a very different prospect. Not having a go at you personally Paddy but whenever anyone touts a possible replacement there is always someone else slagging the suggestion off. I'm not slagging anyone off mate just not convinced by any of the suggestions made.
merlin1969 Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 Dick Advocaat flying into Sunderland as possible temp manager ... Would we take him here ???
The Horse's Mouth Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 I hope we give Paul Ince a chance personally
Donut Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 Dick Advocaat flying into Sunderland as possible temp manager ... Would we take him here ??? Possibly so, just a short term deal to inspire a spark. This team has absolutely ZERO spark. Advocaat is currently negotiating a 2 month contract with Sunderland, so it is possible to get a short term firefighter in. If it doesnt work, it doesnt work, he walks away, and its highly likely we would have been down anyway.

There was a smilar situation with NP but we were in League 1 at that time and a very different prospect. Also a fair point. You have to take the plunge with managers at the right time though. Another year of good management and he might be in the Prem with another club or targeted by Prem clubs. It would be a gamble. The question is whether Pearson's lost enough support among fans and players to merit it. I've always linked Pearson with his squad - the two go together. He can rebuild. He's done it before. I remember the days when he came back and nobody could envisage him ever dropping Wellens, King and Gallagher but he did. This time is a bit different though with the number of long term contracts handed out to players he hasn't used much this season. I don't know where that leaves his relationship with a lot of our squad.

To be fair I wasn't saying that would should just stick with Pearson, I was just saying that I don't think there are many exciting prospects out there and it makes little sense to make a change for the sake of it. I've said why I don't think Warburton's the man - Brentford play graet football...in the Champ - we were pretty good at that level last season. Maybe he could do a job I'm just not convinced. Lennon is a good suggestion, he could be okay. Did you mean Krancar the QPR player of Karanka the Boro manager? If it's the latter then I'd already suggested him. Lambert hasn't done much better than NP in the prem all things considered and has a comparable championship record.
