the-blue-wildabeast Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 Nigel's damaged the club, can you imagine him in the summer, "Hey Danny, Deano, Kingy, Knocky, Albrighton, Wood, and Liam me old mukkas, I thought you were shite last season, but this season I want you to be an integral part of our promotion push, what say you"....he will be told to bollocks, sometimes no matter how successful you are somewhere you can always outstay your welcome. If we had been fighting all season, putting 110% into every game, Nige trying everything to keep us up, I wouldn't have a problem with him staying in charge however, he has been winging and whining like a little girl, insulted people, assaulted people, made outrageous comments which have now backfired on him re "we are a far superior club to Burnley on every level", refuses to speak to local media which is ultimately US. The guy has far outstayed his welcome, I couldn't give a shit about the league one season, or last season, I think he's a twat and I haven't an ounce of respect for the man. Bang on. We have offered nothing this season and will go down as one of the worst ever teams to grace the premier league, certainly in the bottom 3/4. The twat is a dinosaur of management.
Dickov22 Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 name me the games we have been pathetic in? because the ones I've been watching its not that many an we have certenly played well in more then we have been poor Stoke away first half Southampton away Swansea away Villa away both times Newcastle away Liverpool home West Ham away Man City home Stoke City home Man Utd away Hull at home (arguably away too!) I'd argue our best performance bar the obvious game was Liverpool away where I thought we were excellent. This squad is good enough to stay up. Compare it to Burnley, WBA, Sunderland, QPR , Villa. All much of a muchness. One thing stopping us though in my opinion and that's NP.
Guest Col city fan Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 Let's have a change. Freshen it up. Everything else to one side (God knows we've had all the arguments for and against under the sun), I'm simply bored of watching the same players and the same tactics. I'd love a playmaker at the club and to see us keeping it on the deck, playing some quick and fluent football. Pearson may stay and be fine next season but actually, I don't really care. Everything needs a shake up every so often to keep it fresh. We do IMO.
Ric Flair Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 I think Spurs will comfortably beat us, we'll have 2 men sent off and it'll be one of those horrible relegation haunted performances. With the international break the owners will pull the plug on him, just a few months too late but he has to go now regardless.
SecretPro Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 I just think, whilst relegation is not yet a mathematical certainty, while there is still even the slightest bit of hope, we should be getting rid and at least trying to save the season. This notion of the owners waiting until relegation to get rid of Pearson makes no sense to me, and if that's what the Thais are doing then I think they are making a massive mistake. Thing that really gets me is, I know we had the squad to stay up, IF we had shipped Pearson out pre-christmas or just after, then as with West Brom, Villa etc there is every chance we would have stayed up. The delay in decision making and all this pussyfooting around is what has effectively put paid to our season, not just Pearson. The owners have a lot to answer for IMO.
Ric Flair Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 Coincidentally, once the international break is out of the way Martin O'Neill could be free to take the reigns until the end of the season? Now that would at least give us a small glimmer of hope.
ealingfox Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 yes with a super defensive line-up in the first leg, leaving us with too much to do in the second. i can't help it if you don't understand football can i. How did we have too much to do? We had a one goal deficit to make up and thats what we did. We had a perfectly reasonable amount to do. The penalty shoot out defeat didn't happen because we lost the first leg.
wurmer Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 Today is the day. It has to be, doesn't it? Not gonna happen.
SecretPro Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 Add to all this that Sunderland are now going to go on a 6 game winning spree...
ealingfox Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 Said it before but if you are using this season to criticise Pearson's entire tenure with us then you are absolutely pathetic.
Babylon Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 Said it before but if you are using this season to criticise Pearson's entire tenure with us then you are absolutely pathetic. It proves them right apparently for how much they slagged him off in previous years.
Guest MattP Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 It proves them right apparently for how much they slagged him off in previous years. One person bizarrely thinks it proves him right that we should have sacked him before the title winning season
Bettsj2 Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 So Advocat takes over at Sunderland. Hopefully this is the management change that will actually help us rather than rejuvenate a rival.
Robo61 Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 Coincidentally, once the international break is out of the way Martin O'Neill could be free to take the reigns until the end of the season? Now that would at least give us a small glimmer of hope. Do you remember how his frst few weeks went last time around. He does and that is why he will never return.
Fox Ulike Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 Said it before but if you are using this season to criticise Pearson's entire tenure with us then you are absolutely pathetic. Fully agree. There are aspects of the job that Pearson excels in – even this season. He’s a great leader and motivator, and builds disciplined squads where ever he goes. He’s a great talent-spotter and has a determination and self-belief that he projects onto his players. Pearson teams never let their heads drop. The frustrating thing is that he seems to do all the difficult things really well, but then makes such amatuerish mistakes on his team selections, tactics and substitutions. I would still like to see him as DoF with us, although I doubt he’d accept the role.
J.Lisemore Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 For the sake of our survival chances, please let it be before Saturday. Never thought I'd be saying this at the start of the season but, it'd almost be a relief to say he's gone and we can move on.
red5 Posted 17 March 2015 Author Posted 17 March 2015 One person bizarrely thinks it proves him right that we should have sacked him before the title winning season Should never have brought him back from hull, or sacked him after his first season, with his "delusions of grandeur" and "we're only 4 points off 4th place" comments, the blokes a tw@t Just because he was manager when we got promoted doesn't mean we wouldn't have with another manager,

I would still like to see him as DoF with us, although I doubt he’d accept the role. The qualities you see in him makes him a good coach or assistant manager, or even manager ..... But with a tactician of a DOF. The last thing you want for a DOF is someone with an anger management problem, no tactical knowledge, and a reputation for being a bully. I can't see anyone less qualified as a DOF than NP .... He'd make a better manager .... and he's average at that.
5waller5 Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 Should never have brought him back from hull, or sacked him after his first season, with his "delusions of grandeur" and "we're only 4 points off 4th place" comments, the blokes a tw@t Just because he was manager when we got promoted doesn't mean we wouldn't have with another manager, This will be my abiding memory of the bloke .... His dismantling of any ambition that anyone had in, around or supporting the club.... in order to match his own ambition and talent.
red5 Posted 17 March 2015 Author Posted 17 March 2015 But it was him who got us promoted - for the first time in ten long years. Yes we know, but he had better backing, and like I said we'll never know if another manager would have done the same or even better,
5waller5 Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 But it was him who got us promoted - for the first time in ten long years. He got us relegated in one very short season too.
Babylon Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 and a reputation for being a bully. I'm sorry... what?
