foxes1988 Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 We're currently in champions league form but if you look at the the goal distribution of everyone's defeats this season, you see that only Chelsea Man City Arsenal and the mighty foxes have not been beaten by more then 2 goals all season. http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/premier-league/2014-2015/goal-difference Just shows how much the players are giving in every game this season. They've never given up on any game.

sylofox Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 Well ip it going to happen this season you just asked for it OP.
howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 Without wishing to piss on your parade, , I also notice that we have the largest number of defeats by two goals. That's part and parcel of being near the bottom though, the important thing is we havent been on the end of a thrashing from anyone.
Footballwipe Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 How are people only just realising this? It's been apparent since about half way through the season?
elvis f kennedy Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 When was the last time we lost by 3? Probably the Brighton at home debacle last season.
ousefox Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 Probably the Brighton at home debacle last season. Oh yeah forgot about that with it basically being a friendly.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 When was the last time we lost by 3? Surely that'd be just after we were promoted: Brighton 1-4, when the squad was hungover, Ulloa was basically showing us his CV, loads of our plastics buggered off then the rest of us partied and went mental when GTF finally scored for us Edit: beaten to it!
HighPeakFox Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 Also, sorry to be a bore, but this thread already exists.........
Xen Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 Prior to the hungover loss at Brighton last season, the last time we lost by more than 2 goals was at home to Millwall on the 22nd of October 2011. 0-3. Wow. Edit : in the league. If you include cup matches, the 5-2 loss at Stamford Bridge in March that season was the last.

In the 2012-13 season, we didn't concede more than 2 goals in a league game during the regular season.

So in Pearson's second spell we have only lost by 3 goals in the league once, and that didn't count as we were hungover. Impressive.

Izzy Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 Can we stop these threads before we jinx ourselfs Exactly! Maybe we should start a new thread called 'We haven't beaten anybody 6-0 yet this season' and see if that works better
tom27111 Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 That's part and parcel of being near the bottom though, the important thing is we havent been on the end of a thrashing from anyone. Not really. A defeat is a defeat. 1-2 or 0-4 are still worth 0 points.
The Doctor Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 Not really. A defeat is a defeat. 1-2 or 0-4 are still worth 0 points. If goal difference comes into play (and with it so tight down here, it could) then those 1-2's while Sunderland get tonked 8-0 makes all the difference.
AyewJoking Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 I could stomach a 3-0 defeat to QPR so long as we beat Sunderland and Hull lose this weekend.
Nod.E Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 Not really. A defeat is a defeat. 1-2 or 0-4 are still worth 0 points. It's what it's indicative of that's impressive.
Captain... Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 I think if we had been on the wrong end of a couple of hidings in our bad run then it would have damaged our confidence a lot more than coming out of games thinking "how did we lose that?" or knowing that we could have and should have got something out the game. Being thrashed, even by Chelsea or Man City, will knock your confidence, it will also play on your mind in the next games.
foxes88 Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 If goal difference comes into play (and with it so tight down here, it could) then those 1-2's while Sunderland get tonked 8-0 makes all the difference. It's especially impressive considering we've lost so many more games then Sunderland.
Les-TA-Jon Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 I wonder how many times in the league under Pearson we've ever lost by more than 2. I'd be surprised if it's much more than 10. In fact... 2008/09 - 0 2009/10 - 2 - Forest Away - West Brom Away 2011/12 - 0 (1 in the FA cup - Chelsea away) 2012/13 - 0 2013/14 - 1 - Brighton Home 2014/15 - 0 - so far... So that's only 3 league games lost by more 2 goals under Pearson - 4 ever, including the Chelsea game Pretty damn impressive. Especially when you see teams like Arsenal getting spanked at least once a season
