Dan Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 Yeah Wasyl for me. Huth has made a huge difference to our defence, and Morgan has improved due to the change in formation. But Was has been a huge part of all the clean sheets we've kept recently. And can anybody actually remember a mistake he made which led to a goal being conceded? Exactly what I was going to say. Genuinely struggling to think of a goal he was at obvious fault for.
fuchsntf Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 There is for this thread only.....Mr Marcin Wasilewski. For his straight foward no nonsense defending, his top passes from defense, no panic, kill or die attitude, most of all, for his hardnose fair defending, that really does not go over the top. One of the nicest killers of forward, I have ever seen.
benpicko Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 I wouldn't say Wasyl has been an unsung hero as much as Nugent has, Wasyl was being called our player of the season by quite a few people back before this streak and Huth's involvement, Nugent was getting shit most matches though

jammie82uk Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 I'm joining the wasyl fan club as well but a special mention has to go to Nugent
nealsimbo Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 I voted Schluup without thinking of Wasyl. He has been brilliant since he came back into the side.
Oxfordfox83 Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 Totally agree. I was surprised so many were calling for Hamer to be first choice earlier in the season. Huth has (rightly so) taken he plaudits for our improvement in defence, but Kasper's return to the side has been a big factor in our recent performances too. Not sure that's quite fair. Kasper was pretty budget in the early season-we were getting mercilessly torn apart from high balls against mid table teams and he didn't seem to be learning. The love for Hamer came because he came in and did a really solid job, and notably was strong where Kasper was weak. He also got unceremoniously dumped twice, which seemed very unfair, and on neither occasion was his replacement noticeably better. BUT this is a thread of positivity and love, so: Kasper has come back a monster, an even better keeper than before his injury and is rightly our clear number one. Long may he stay. In fact it's fair to say both our keepers are excellent and I'd be happy to see either of them starting. Just keep the elderly Australian the right side of the player/coach divide...
Bryn Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 To be honest I think the players we have get a proportionate amount of respect from the fans.
Izzy Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 Tea lady And Filbert Fox has been quite an unsung hero this season
Dr The Singh Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 And Filbert Fox has been quite an unsung hero this seasonWhat about Bernie? He makes all the difference with his chants, and smells
Tom's Pasta Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 I'll say Morgan as well. Really never understood why he ever got so much stick, he may have put in the odd below par performance but he is our captain and has been at the heart of the defence and has no doubt had a big part to play in keeping the team together and not letting their heads drop when things haven't gone our way.
