Stadt Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Huth, for me. As brilliant as Esteban is I think finding a replacement for him is easier than finding one for Huth.
Bryn Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Huth hands down, the improvement in our form coincided with his arrival.
GingerrrFox Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Cambiasso for me. Huth is solid but what he does for the team is more easily replaced IMO. Esteban should be nowhere near Leicester City in reality as he could still excel for a Top 6 side.
Jimothy Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 You could get another 4 or 5 years out of Huth, probably only one more out of Cambiasso, so Huth without a doubt.
lee7 Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Huth for me, cambiasso is undoubtedly one of if not the best players that I've ever seen play for us but we regularly lost with cambiasso in the team at one time whereas with Huth in the team we rarely concede a goal at the moment.
bovril Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Cambiasso. Huth could be replaced, albeit it difficultly and expensively. Cambiasso at the moment is irreplaceable, I dread to think about next year without him and Matty James..
Foxymcoxy Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Huth because he has several years left. If it was Huth on a 1 year vs Cambiasso on a 1 year then probably Cambiasso. We would still need another CB though.
Guest Bilo Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 The flipside is that Cambiasso, if he leaves, will be extremely expensive to replace. We'd have to smash our transfer record for a younger player of his quality.
foxfanazer Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Gone for Huth based purely on how many years we can get out of him. Realistically we can only get one more year out of Cambiasso Will definitely go down as one of if not the best players I've seen play for us
ScouseFox Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 I'd rather cambiasso stayed but I think huth is the more important. Our record with him vs our record without him speaks volumes...
Stadt Posted 25 May 2015 Author Posted 25 May 2015 How many proven premiership quality centre backs would be willing to join us, let alone a club selling to us?
AyewJoking Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Huth is key to a steady defence. Its a dream to have Cambiasso playing for us but we wouldnt fall apart if he wasnt there.
bovril Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Huth is key to a steady defence. Its a dream to have Cambiasso playing for us but we wouldnt fall apart if he wasnt there. Hmm, I'd argue the opposite. Huth has done very well but he can replaced. Do you think Stoke would be willing to let go of EC if they had him at the moment? Quality midfielders who can do everything Cambiasso does are very, very rare.
Oxfordfox83 Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Cambiasso. Huth is brilliant, but we could get a good 30 year old CB for £10-15m. To find someone of Cambiasso's class with his desire, leadership and professionalism could cost £100m+, and you'd still never know if they'd do the job for us. Another year for him to bed in some new signings and if his legs are gone we can stick the statue up and wish him very well as he dominates Europe as a Champions League manager.
DennisNedry Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Huth. If Cambiasso was younger he'd win hands down, but then he wouldn't be anywhere near us.
Hollism Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 I'd say keeping Cambiasso + Wasilewski is better than keeping just Huth, but without knowing what Was will so it's a hard decision.
ozleicester Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Cambiasso.. . i want to come back and see him live in a lesta shirt
AyewJoking Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Hmm, I'd argue the opposite. Huth has done very well but he can replaced. Do you think Stoke would be willing to let go of EC if they had him at the moment? Quality midfielders who can do everything Cambiasso does are very, very rare. Depends whether it was a choice between Esteban and their best defender.
Raw Dykes Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 The flipside is that Cambiasso, if he leaves, will be extremely expensive to replace. We'd have to smash our transfer record for a younger player of his quality. If we go for a younger replacement, then yes, it will cost us, but we could go for the experienced option again. It is going to be very difficult to replace Cambiasso, but if NP can sign a player like that for a newly promoted side, then surely he can do the same for us now. To be honest, as much as I love the team as it is, I don't really think anyone is irreplacable. NP built this squad, and now we've survived our first season, he should find it easier to attract the players he wants. His track record in the transfer market is excellent, really. I'm confident he could find a replacement for most of our players, if not all.
dmayne7 Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Cambiasso. Huth could be replaced, albeit it difficultly and expensively. Cambiasso at the moment is irreplaceable, I dread to think about next year without him and Matty James.. I really rate Matty but King has been the best of the midfielders from the Championship, by a long way. I think the age is the biggest factor. I'd love to keep Esteban but will he be able to perform to the same standard next year? Huth has still got a few years left in him. Desperately hope we will keep both.
Guest bss9401 Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Sorry for this answer but if the club has any sense they will pay whatever it takes to keep them both. I honestly can't, so don't want to answer in favour of one or the other.
Stadt Posted 25 May 2015 Author Posted 25 May 2015 It's not down to money though, it's whether Stoke will sell and Cambiasso wants to stay.
cc_star Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Easiest vote ever Huth!!! Quite simply Huth is priceless to us King has been the best midfielder this season, was excellent early on and solid when others weren't and a real contributor to the end. Cambiasso has been great during the run-in but he was given the run around far too easily for first two thirds of the season, would like to see him back next year, but not as critical as Huth... Or a few others
