PhillippaT Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 Whatever happened to "Arsenal can buy anyone except Messi or Ronaldo"? I don't care if they win the title but I am somehow still disappointed in them. Not as disappointed as my girlfriend. Here's hoping we don't miss not buying another right-back this season, or if that's too much to hope for, before January?
Wymsey Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 If Arsenal don't break into the top 4, Wenger will be gone. I'm uncertain about the quality of their squad, a few 'hit and misses' in Giroud, Oxlade and Walcott.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 no chance they don't get top 4, there team is capable of second. 3rd,4th will be interesting considering the state of Chelsea and United atm
EnglishOxide Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 Still think Arsenal have a great chance of the title. Chelseas defence isn't all that, whilst at Man City Aguero will inevitably get injured and Toure, Kompany, Demichelis and Hart are definitely going to dip in form, particularly when the champions league games kick in.

Fox92 Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 We all know it'll be the same old with the top 4 compromising of Manchester City/Manchester United/Chelsea/Arsenal. Tottenham don't look good enough to finish top 4, neither do Liverpool.
filbertstreet Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 I reckon Van Gaal will be gone before Wenger. Pearson -> Man U Preki -> Arsenal
The Horse's Mouth Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 Liverpool could've had a good go at United this season if they'd strengthened in defence
Stadt Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 I thought you were injured... I'll always be injured mentally
kingfox Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 Man City have won the title already, no point talking about the rest.
Wymsey Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 At least Noble's red card is rescinded. If it wasn't, slide-tackling would've been banned from the game.
Bayfox Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 At least Noble's red card is rescinded. If it wasn't, slide-tackling would've been banned from the game. But they have been charged with failing to control their players Surely the defense to that charge is. Well you admitted it wasn't a red, in which case we had every right to be passed off.
MC Prussian Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 Galatasaray have completed the signing of Kevin Grosskreutz from Borussia Dortmund. There was a danger the deal might not go through due to some late paperwork but the Turkish side have announced the move for an initial fee of 1.5m euros. ONE POINT FIVE MILLION EUROS??? That's almost as unbelievable as Man Utd making Martial the most expensive teenager ever. There's been a lot of conflicting news surrounding that transfer... One minute, it's on. Then off again. Then on again. Now what the ****? Last thing I heard was that FIFA have put in a veto and Grosskreutz has to stay put and/or can't join Galatasaray until next January. Yet he doesn't care and travels to Turkey regardless.
st albans fox Posted 3 September 2015 Posted 3 September 2015 Stoke interest me. they have lost nzonzi and their performances seem a little lacklustre. Tough to judge the WBA game but they were fortunate to get their draws at the lane and also carrow road. Wonder if the stokist chap is around to give a comment. They are away at arsenal before we visit there.

They are away at arsenal before we visit there. Playing dreadful at the minute. Again our board has refused to significantly invest in the squad, which was severely needed with the loss of key players (net spend of 8 million in 3 seasons now). The fans were promised a big summer in terms of "next level " signings which only shaqiri fits that Bill. Should of lost at Norwich but should of beaten spurs and drawn against Liverpool. We were will the team on top with 9 men against WBA. After finishing 9 consecutively whilst spending peanuts, it put us in a great position to realy invest and push 6-7th, didn't happen though. It's going to be a struggle to achieve top 10 again with so many teams improving ( west ham, Swansea palace and yourselves )but when the new players van ginkle and bojan gel who knows. J think Leicester are playing tremendously ATM and can be seen as serious contenders for top 10

Is there still the possibility of filling in the corners at the Britannia? Apparently this has been discussed for the past few seasons.

StokeFan Posted 3 September 2015 Posted 3 September 2015 Stoke interest me. they have lost nzonzi and their performances seem a little lacklustre. They are away at arsenal before we visit there. Morning, Yeah, it's been a very strange start to the season so far, although not too different to last season. I'm not quite as much a wrist slasher as mistocles though. You beat us around this time at our place last year, so a slow start isn't all that surprising. We started so well against Liverpool in the first game, but it kind of fizzled out in the second half then we gifted them a cheap (albeit brilliant) goal. Should have beaten Spurs really, we had enough chances to be 2-0 up before they were even close to scoring, but then they got a real sucker punch with their goal off a corner. Defensively, without Shawcross, we're looking really shakey though. I think that's the biggest concern. He makes the other 3 around him look twice as good. He really is that good. As a player, he's wholly underappreciated by fans of other teams just because he plays for Stoke and once injured an Arsenal player and people seem to be incapable of thinking for themselves so allow a jumped up Frenchman tell them how to think. Norwich, well, I am of the opinion that yes, Norwich did play well in the second half, but for the first 30 minutes we ripped them to shreds. We should have been miles ahead, but we're just not taking our chances. They got their goal and it was a really poor goal to concede and it knocked the wind out of their sales and they subsequently dominated. West Brom, well, we all know Michael Oliver is a bit of a celebrity referee. He loves the attention. Everyone left that game talking about him, rather than the game, and that's exactly what he likes. Two very shakey red's, although the second is clearer than the first. We were all over West Brom. We'd have won that game for sure. So yeah, shakey start, but perhaps a bit of luck required as well. Looking forward to the game against Arsenal, it's often a big team that jigs us truly into life. hahaha wow, after four games! crazy how different this post is to the "we're gonna probably win the league with our immense summer business and id be surprised if Leicester win a game all season" posts you were giving us literally a month ago Well, I don't know what he wrote, but it can't be as daft as those who were posting on here "with our squad we'll make the Europa League for sure" and all that dog shit? People are ambitious and optimistic. You can't blame him for that. It wouldn't be very fun going on and saying "oh we're ****ing shit, so we'll be going down".
Father Ted Posted 3 September 2015 Posted 3 September 2015 So Bournemouth's two big summer signings, Mings and Gradel out for at least 6 months.
shen Posted 3 September 2015 Posted 3 September 2015 So Bournemouth's two big summer signings, Mings and Gradel out for at least 6 months. Highly unfortunate for them. They'll do very well to cope without them!
weller54 Posted 3 September 2015 Posted 3 September 2015 So Bournemouth's two big summer signings, Mings and Gradel out for at least 6 months. They'll be back in time to join the relegation battle!!... March 2016 Bournemouth will be pretty much relegated by then!
Super_horns Posted 3 September 2015 Posted 3 September 2015 West Brom, well, we all know Michael Oliver is a bit of a celebrity referee. He loves the attention. Everyone left that game talking about him, rather than the game, and that's exactly what he likes. TBH your own players allowed him to have that with 2 moments of madness (from a game you would have won otherwise) The only mistake he made was not sending off the WBA player for reacting but really no-one at Stoke should have any complaints about those red cards. Just silly behaviour from players who should know better..
