ARM1968 Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 We're gonna bang em all lads!!! They'll fall beneath our speed, fitness and the legend that is Kante. I'm in Dublin preparing for a U2 concert so I might be a tad pickled.
Fox92 Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 we were way better than man city in the home game and unlucky not to get anything (blatant penalty given as a free kick) in the away game. We were unlucky in the away game, especially considering they were second and we were bottom. We should have easily had two penalties, in each half.
Corky Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 I accept the argument that we haven't played many top sides so we probably won't win the league. I won't accept that we're overrated because of it though. Out of the games we've played we've been one of the best teams in the league. Period. All the jealous lower midtable sides were saying this after the first 5 games but we're still proving this isn't a lucky run. We're miles better than about half the league at this point. I think what's most grating is people talking about us having easier games as though it was expected we'd get these results. If you can find a pundit who said we'd be sitting on this number of points (obviously it wasn't known how many were needed to be top so I won't hold that against them) or even within 10 points of our current total I'd like to see it. Look how many said we'd finish bottom. Barely anyone thought we'd finish above 17th. We'd struggle to get 28 points in the season let alone by November. There are no guaranteed wins for a side like us, every one is a challenge and we've done incredibly.
ScouseFox Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 the best is the fans of shit teams like watford or villa saying we're only top cos we haven't played anyone good, even tho we've played them and beaten them
ARM1968 Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 Can only beat what's in front of you. I've got faith and another Guinness
Harry - LCFC Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 How many of these games did they expect us to win? I've seen very few experts predict we'll win more than about four matches, even in the current run because "they have to lose at some point". Many people had us to finish adrift at the bottom. Logic dictates that we'll lose plenty of matches. We haven't, we've done brilliantly against a variety of sides. I'm not trying to argue that we've not had a brilliant season so far, we quite clearly have. I just wanted to make the point that we've had a fixture list that probably doesn't fully represent the quality of the league so far and that that will count for a few points here and there.
Babylon Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 the best is the fans of shit teams like watford or villa saying we're only top cos we haven't played anyone good, even tho we've played them and beaten them Plus a load of teams they have lost to. Had it with an Everton fan whinging about our games... until I told him in the 22 game run we've beaten 7 teams they have failed to. I don't know why people just can't accept it and stop trying pick fault. Nobody expects us to play and beat all the big teams. We don't expect to win the league or get champions league football, or to even finish in the top 6. We got promoted a year ago and were bottom of the league for most of the season. Even just beating the "shit teams" we're exceeding everyone's expectations of of us this season.... so it's still a great performance.
ScouseFox Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 tbf what shows we're now a big fish is how pissed off everyone is with us, not our results. "easy" games or not people are still clearly riled by us like they usually are of liverpool, united, chelsea etc. we've made it.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 it is pretty hilarious that we only need about 7 points to be completely cleared of relegation.
ARM1968 Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 I thought there were NO easy games in the PL. Or is that only true for teams other than us?
Guest Col city fan Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 cambiassos fault? It's become ever more clear just how energy in the middle of the park is essential in the Premiership.Last season, we didn't have enough of it. I maintained that last season and nothing I've seen from our squad this year makes me think any different. The Cambiasso love in will continue ad nauseum. I still think he didn't much help our cause. Results and stats back this up..until we signed Huth and changed the formation. THEN he came into his own..he simply had more time on the ball.
Corky Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 What Cambiasso love-in? The only time he's brought up now is when people ask "Would you rather have Kante or Cambiasso?" and most say Kante.

We look better at the back now, we look better going forward, Kante and Drinkwater are bossing games while Vardy has already beaten last season's top goalscorer already. I get fed up of people bringing Cambiasso up now but take nothing away from his influence last season, although I do agree Huth was more influential it seemed.
Steven Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 It's become ever more clear just how energy in the middle of the park is essential in the Premiership. Is this the reason for Sunderland's success?
MC Prussian Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 Arsenal's Coquelin now out for at least three months. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/34902280
Corky Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 Most of us still love him but are discreet about it nowadays.
Guest ttfn Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 Most of us still love him but are discreet about it nowadays. Me and Scouse have been meeting up once a fortnight just watching videos of his best bits from last season (mainly failure to track runners with the odd open goal miss). I will PM you the details.
Domsdad Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 Arsenal's Coquelin now out for at least three months. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/34902280 They can keep their thieving hands off Kante!
foxfanazer Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 Joel Ward would be a great signing for us. Rate him highly
Guest Col city fan Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 Sunderland really are a typical Allardyce side. Slow, two banks of four, soak up pressure and try to sneak one somehow. So boring to watch. As bad as Pulis without a doubt.
foxfanazer Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 Cabaye Sunderland really are a typical Allardyce side. Slow, two banks of four, soak up pressure and try to sneak one somehow. So boring to watch. As bad as Pulis without a doubt. Hardly exciting before Allardyce Col!
StanSP Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 Sunderland really are a typical Allardyce side. Slow, two banks of four, soak up pressure and try to sneak one somehow. So boring to watch. As bad as Pulis without a doubt. but they have energy in the middle of the park which is essential
AKCJ Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 you know you're an embarrassment when you're time wasting against palace in the first half
