ScouseFox Posted 24 November 2015 Posted 24 November 2015 Clinch it in April? If we don't win it at Selhurst Park I'll be disappointed. their fans would only nick it when we'd all gone out to celebrate
Guest Posted 25 November 2015 Posted 25 November 2015 im already preparing the mother of col city. I hope she's happy with that.
J.Lisemore Posted 25 November 2015 Posted 25 November 2015 The Sun reports that Rooney is being offered chance to play in Chinese league as his last career bow. Been under-performing for a while now and, at his age, he should jump at the chance - but no, he and Hodgson would be upset if this happens as it would affect his chances of playing for England again. It wouldn't matter though would it? His reputation from previous years will always get him into the England and Man Utd side. He's been that muck, nobody even knows his best position anymore.
filbertway Posted 26 November 2015 Posted 26 November 2015 Look how bunched up it is this year compared to last year.
ScouseFox Posted 26 November 2015 Posted 26 November 2015 Look how bunched up it is this year compared to last year. at both ends too (ole)
Domsdad Posted 26 November 2015 Posted 26 November 2015 Just reading Jimmy Bullards book. When he was with Wigan he says they got 25 points from their first 11 games and they were 2nd. Finished 10th! Yes we are a better team, but just shows what a dip in form can do.

Yes we are a better team, but just shows what a dip in form can do. But before the season started the aim, was to survive again, with maybe a year on year improvement. So would we have taken a top 10 finish? The start to the season as been sensational, and with, Chelsea struggling, Man utd not playing with flair, Arsenal still having a soft touch and Liverpool having had a slow start and a change of manager, then maybe we will never have a better chance. But honestly I don't think any of us expected this start, so if we have a dip, fine, so long as it's not a 5 month one like last season.
Nalis Posted 26 November 2015 Posted 26 November 2015 People call us this years Southampton but Southampton were only 3rd this time last season, how shite! If anyone is this season's Southampton its Man City.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 26 November 2015 Posted 26 November 2015 Jack Grealish dropped from first team for being a twat http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34930220 I'd love to kick his teeth
AKCJ Posted 26 November 2015 Posted 26 November 2015 He's not good enough to justify it. Absolute willy puller. Just reading Jimmy Bullards book. Fox92 Posted 26 November 2015 Posted 26 November 2015 Jack Grealish dropped from first team for being a twat http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34930220 I'd love to kick his teeth Part of me thinks he doesn't seem to care again, especially after a defeat, but on the other hand he is only 20 and he's going out with friends like we all did.

I don't remember being a premier league footballer earning thousands per week when I was 20. Sacrifices must be made.

That's true, and footballer's have to handle themselves as professionals but it's a fine line because if you're a good player or in great form and your team is doing well then you'll get away with this sort of thing. It looks worse because Villa are bottom of the league and had got battered 4-0 on Saturday.
mikey54 Posted 26 November 2015 Posted 26 November 2015 What time's Ranieri's press conference today? About now

I don't have a problem with players going out but it's bad form (so to speak) when you've just been hammered 4-0.

And the fact that Grealish is a way overhyped mediocre player who's privileged to have the opportunity to play in the Premier League and has been warned about his behaviour before

AKCJ Posted 26 November 2015 Posted 26 November 2015 I don't have a problem with players going out but it's bad form (so to speak) when you've just been hammered 4-0. Yeah, this. I have no problem with Premier League footballers enjoying themselves. But I do have a problem with people who put their own emotions in front of the supporters'. He's entitled to enjoy his saturday night. But going out to a busy city, getting totally hammered and having it plastered on social media after being hammered 4-0 is, frankly, pathetic. I'm glad Garde is punishing him whereas tactics tim used to protect him and make excuses for him. Plus he's got a shit haircut. Deserves booing for that by itself.
Captain... Posted 26 November 2015 Posted 26 November 2015 What do you do after a bad day at work? Or a Friday after a bad week at work? When I was 20 I would go out and get smashed and have a good time and put it all out of my mind. I know footballers are different and are athletes, was he actually drunk or just out partying? But it is natural to want to let off steam and not let a bad day drag you down.
yorkie1999 Posted 26 November 2015 Posted 26 November 2015 Our goal difference is starting to look a bit healthier. Just had a play around with the league calculator and i reckon villa could be relegated by mid March, which would be quite enjoyable. http://www.worldfootball.net/table_calculator/eng-premier-league/

The difference is that footballers today are under much more scrutiny and media pressure and Social Media didn't exist back then (thank god it didn't). They're also carrying the weight of being poster boys for a healthy lifestyle. Also, why the need to let everybody know? Back in the days, you had maybe a handful of mates who'd be witness. By making it public yourself to a much, much wider audience, you do make yourself look like a bit of a careless and narcisstic (insert whatever insult you fancy).
