DJ Barry Hammond Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 Do people think some of the mid table teams have pretty much shut down and their players are simply not putting everything in, Stoke being the obvious one, but I'm not just thinking them - Watford, Everton, Palace (players keeping themselves for the cup), Chelsea and some others? And if you think this is the case, has this ever happened to this degree and this 'early' in season before?
AKCJ Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 I think that the likes of Higuain, Lewandowski and Neymar would get 20+ but Suarez, Ronaldo and Messi would comfortably get more than 30.
Jimothy Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 Damnit Newcastle, you're supposed to be fighting 'til the final day. Could get 6 point quite easily out the 2 games after this.
Dan Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 If he had the right players around him is the key point i'm making, the other can 'do it for themselves' generally. I don't think he could stand being roughed up either. Listen, I don't think we'll ever see him in the Prem and there is a reason for that (Well there's a few) and unless he does come he'll never answer the question will he, Ronaldo has. Doesn't make him a poorer player at all though. He's regularly scored against English sides in Europe. 3 goals against Arsenal this season. And could you really, really see him struggling against teams like Sunderland and Norwich? Not for me. He's amazing. He'd ruin this league. Do people think some of the mid table teams have pretty much shut down and their players are simply not putting everything in, Stoke being the obvious one, but I'm not just thinking them - Watford, Everton, Palace (players keeping themselves for the cup), Chelsea and some others? And if you think this is the case, has this ever happened to this degree and this 'early' in season before? I think we got quite lucky with our run in last year. Majority of sides we played had nothing to play for.
AKCJ Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 Best way of putting it with Messi is that he's a similar player to Aguero, only miles better and not injury prone. Aguero has close to a goal-per-game ratio for Man City in the league this season. To say that Messi wouldn't rip this league a new one is a bit barmy.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 Charlton are certainly on the beach already then!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 What the fvck are Newcastle doing ? 2-0 down already
FireFox Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 Hazard scores! Finally. After 28 appearances. Bournemouth get 1 back.
purpleronnie Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 What the fvck are Newcastle doing ? 2-0 down already They're playing a superior side.
Merging Cultures Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 Newcastle really should have got NP not Rafa. They are looking awful.
AKCJ Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 Mental that that is Hazard's first goal of the season.
Merging Cultures Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 According to the Moss principle, Perez should have been booked. Yes there was contact, but then he dived after. Refs are stupid.
whetstonefox Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 Villa fans singing 'it's just a weight off your shoulders'!
Brainy Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 Anybody else spot Yaya Toure tell the referee to **** off when he went down in the penalty area earlier and nothing was given? Thats a one match ban right there.
Dan Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 I dint think so... that is silly.. 30+ yes Is it really though?
foxes_rule1978 Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 Is it really though? Yes, no player has done so... and we have had some insane players in this league... premier league is tougher to score in than la Liga no myth just a fact, he would however get regularly 30+
Dan Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 Yes, no player has done so... and we have had some insane players in this league... premier league is tougher to score in than la Liga no myth just a fact, he would however get regularly 30+ No player as good as Messi has played in this league. Premier League is tougher to score in... is it? No-one can really say for sure.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 No player as good as Messi has played in this league. Premier League is tougher to score in... is it? No-one can really say for sure. I can because check scoring records for both leagues... it is the only thing to go on... no player as any ratio above 1:1 in the PL ever... not even Ronaldo, Henry or Suarez
Matt Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 Well Suarez has scored 30 this season, Messi only 24 (He's had 2 games less than Suarez but that's not gonna give him 6 more goals) and Suarez has played in the Premier League.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 No player as good as Messi has played in this league. Premier League is tougher to score in... is it? No-one can really say for sure. Aguero is better than Messi IMHO But opinions are like arseholes - everyone's got one
Max Power Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 Aguero is better than Messi IMHO But opinions are like arseholes - everyone's got one I don't think even Sergio's mum shares that opinion.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 Aguero is better than Messi IMHO But opinions are like arseholes - everyone's got one I don't agree with that, Messi would be the best player to ever grace the PL if he were to ever come. It would be interesting to see if he could reach 40 but I'm only certain he will get 30+ regularly
ScouseFox Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 Suarez, Messi, Neymar, Ronaldo, Higuain, Lewandowski plus a lot of players you could argue either way. harry kane imho
