Parafox Posted 9 June 2015 Posted 9 June 2015 Which one of those other incidents has any relevance to what happened? It is a coincidence that the safety operators overrode a safety warning on a ride that had a wheel come off, that had cracks in a support column and had a small part of the track falling apart. They are unrelated events and unless you believe that it was cursed somehow I don't see how you can say it wasn't a an unfortunate and terrible coincidence. You read of terrible road traffic accidents almost weekly yet no one ever says, well that's it for me, I'm never driving again.
Nod.E Posted 27 June 2015 Posted 27 June 2015 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-stoke-staffordshire-33296533 There goes another leg. This time Vicky Balch.Absolutely tragic and made even worse by the fact that she's a dancer.
fuchsntf Posted 27 June 2015 Posted 27 June 2015 I bet nobody thinks about re-designing these fairground crashbars, or the front and rear of these wagons/cars.
SystonFox Posted 27 June 2015 Posted 27 June 2015 If they had train style buffers on episodes like this Wouldnt be anywhere near as severe. So basic

TheUltimateWinner Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 Another incident at Alton Towers! http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/alton-towers-air-rollercoaster-breaks-5985495?fb_ref=Default#ICID=sharebar_facebook Happens all the time, go to any theme park and a ride will stop at least one time a day. Probably because someone had their camera out on the ride. Seriously, none of this would make news if it wasn't for the crash, now every single ride downtime is being scrutinised and making it sound like the place is a death trap.

ramboacdc Posted 24 November 2015 Author Posted 24 November 2015 Human error caused the Alton Towers rollercoaster crash in June that seriously injured five people, the Staffordshire theme park said. Two women needed leg amputations after the Smiler ride crashed into an empty carriage in front of it on 2 June. The safety control system was manually overridden without the proper protocols being followed, an investigation concluded. No technical or mechanical issues were found with the ride itself. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-34911943
