CosbehFox Posted 28 June 2015 Posted 28 June 2015 Sooner or later were going to have to start paying more wages... I don't get why people are so hung up about this!!! Over 10 years ago the likes of Matt Elliot were on 30k a week as it was!! The way we do wages with a relative average weekly wage supplemented by big bonuses if successful and if failure, there's clauses too. Last year was a prime example where staying up saw financial reward. Also to compensate the weekly wage, we hand out longer deals.
EarlBeaumont Posted 28 June 2015 Posted 28 June 2015 Also, Marseille ans Caen president are quite good friends. I know that business is business, but still...
Gerard Posted 28 June 2015 Posted 28 June 2015 Also, Marseille ans Caen president are quite good friends. I know that business is business, but still... I wouldn't sell my house to my friend who offered me market value if someone else was offering me double.
NeilLCFC Posted 28 June 2015 Posted 28 June 2015 Anyone feel like we should back out of this as it seems like the player himself doesn't want to come here?
Babylon Posted 28 June 2015 Posted 28 June 2015 Anyone feel like we should back out of this as it seems like the player himself doesn't want to come here? I have no idea what the player wants, so no.
Gerard Posted 28 June 2015 Posted 28 June 2015 Anyone feel like we should back out of this as it seems like the player himself doesn't want to come here? He won't be waterboarded until he does sign. If he really hates the thought of moving to England for a lower half Premier League team then he just won't go. We will make him feel wanted and give him a huge wage increase so that usually does the trick.
Bagworthblue Posted 28 June 2015 Posted 28 June 2015 Anyone feel like we should back out of this as it seems like the player himself doesn't want to come here? every player we sign goes on press as being really happy to be here, never in doubt, huge club, dream come true - Much of this is PR Bollocks. I love him but still think Cambiasso settled for us to some extent. The key thing is, when they do sign, they give everything and get sucked in to the cause or just have the desire to do well or even to resign themselves and make the best of it! Ok you don't want to sign a player who comes here in desperation as a last paycheck etc but most players walking on the pitch want to do well if only to boost their own standing and he will have been subject to personality and character checks by our scouts I doubt we will get him but he is a player that I really like the look of if i'm honest so no, we shouldn't give up IMHO

We're really struggling for high quality in central midfield. The new "Claude Makalele" who had more tackles than any player in the top five leagues of Europe last year. He looks very quick and strong and will dominate in that position sat in front of the defence. He'll obviously be hungry and ambitious at his age and career so far so I'm sure he'll come with the right attitude and will be one of our better players. This is the signing I really want us to make this summer now Huth is in the bag.
Danizen Posted 28 June 2015 Posted 28 June 2015 I wouldn't sell my house to my friend who offered me market value if someone else was offering me double. But what if your house was sentient and outright refused to be sold to the other guy? That sounds like the premise to a really mad b-movie.

Xen Posted 28 June 2015 Posted 28 June 2015 He won't be waterboarded until he does sign. If he really hates the thought of moving to England for a lower half Premier League team then he just won't go. I imagine there are a lot of clubs which would do everything possible to convince him otherwise if he rejected them. Whereas given who we have in charge, id like to think that we'd let the player know we were disappointed because we really wanted him, but respect his decision and move on. Bizarrely, that may help towards getting him to change his mind.
RizLCFC Posted 29 June 2015 Posted 29 June 2015 Set to sign for Marseille according to GFFN. Never mind. Quietly hoping that we can somehow convince N'Zonzi to join us. Money and ambition of our club could be key factors.
kingpowerout Posted 29 June 2015 Posted 29 June 2015 The European football expert currently talking on Talksport just said he is almost certain to sign for Marseille.

Bluearmyfox28 Posted 29 June 2015 Posted 29 June 2015 Just seen that Marseille are due to sign Idrissa Gueye from Lille. He's a centre midfielder so unless Marseille are looking to sign 2 centre midfielders hopefully it means they have decided to sign this fella instead of Kante. I know I'm probably over evaluating but you never know.
