MC Prussian Posted 16 February 2016 Posted 16 February 2016 Seems pretty even to me It's been PSG all over Chelsea in the second half. More possession, more scoring chances, more attacking intent. It's all taking place in the Chelsea half.
FireFox Posted 16 February 2016 Posted 16 February 2016 Chelsea will win this. Then a bore 0-0 on the 2nd leg.
AKCJ Posted 16 February 2016 Posted 16 February 2016 What on Earth has happened to Hazard? Torres and Falcao esque.
purpleronnie Posted 16 February 2016 Posted 16 February 2016 I'm probably mistaken but if Chelsea win it won't that make it the top 3 league positiions qualify for CL not the usual top 4. If so surely we should be hoping PSG go through.

If so surely we should be hoping PSG go through.Only if an English team (outside the top 4, so not Spurs) wins Europa too. And we aren't finishing 4th, Unlikely, but it would be great if Chelsea win it, Liverpool/ManU won EL, and Arsenal/Spurs finish 4th.
AKCJ Posted 16 February 2016 Posted 16 February 2016 Another Champions League goal against an English club for Cavani. Watch the hype ensue in the media. Watch him be linked with someone for about 80m.
FireFox Posted 16 February 2016 Posted 16 February 2016 Don't think 1 away goal will be enough for Chelsea.
glenny_fox Posted 16 February 2016 Posted 16 February 2016 Chelsea were so poor. got completely outplayed.
richardsfoxes Posted 16 February 2016 Posted 16 February 2016 Love the way PSG plays but when you've spent that much doe i'd expect that i guess.
BoyJones Posted 16 February 2016 Posted 16 February 2016 Obviously no love for Chelsea, but thought they played quite well. Under the cosh last 15 mins, but both goal conceded could have been prevented. Two mistakes by the first the wall (hate players who are scared of being hit by the ball, shouldn't be on the pitch) and second, keeper rushing out to leave his goal wide open. Good finish though. Over the last few years have always rooted for Arsenal, but will be wearing my Barcelona shirt next week, hope the arrogant cants get stuffed.

Wymsey Posted 16 February 2016 Posted 16 February 2016 Ibrahimovic should've scored a hat-trick imo. Think Willian is most key for Chelsea as he can start opportunities from many areas.
Dan Posted 16 February 2016 Posted 16 February 2016 We really could do with Chelsea out of this. One thing to protect our CL place should we drop to fourth (which isn't impossible) and as well to keep them focused on winning league games against our competitors. They've got to play both Spurs and Man City at home yet. I know they play us too but every little helps. Europa League winner is irrelevant to us. They get a spot of their own. Sevilla won it last year but what I wonder is... who does that spot go to if the winner of that finished in a CL position in their league?
Manwell Pablo Posted 17 February 2016 Posted 17 February 2016 Actually it isn't, we had this discussion in another thread and I've pointed it out elsewhere as well. I thought like you that was the rule but apparently you can have 5 qualifiers per league and this isn't limited to just the Europa League winners being inclusive. So we'd be fine in fourth with Chelsea winning the CL so long as say Liverpool didn't win the Europa as well.....basically astronomical odds on us missing out on the Champions League that way.
foxes21 Posted 17 February 2016 Posted 17 February 2016 If Chelsea, Man City & Arsenal go out at this stage, will it ruin the coefficient next year, I.e only the top 3 get CL? Would we then miss out if we finish fourth?

So if say... Villarreal won the Europa League this season, finished 4th in Spain, the next place would go to 5th place in La Liga?

Coefficient are decided before the season, so we have four now and will have four at the end of the season, if we lost a place will come into effect in the 16/17 season. I wouldn't worry anyway, Italy are a long long way behind us. EDIT: Actually having checked it, no they aren't when did they get so close!

Juve getting to Champions League final last season would have helped considerably. Fiorentina & Napoli got to the semis of Europa League last season while only 1 English side got to the Round of 16 (Everton). In the same round, Italy had 5 teams (Torino, Roma, Fiorentina, Napoli & Inter) I presume Europa League counts towards the co-efficient as much as Champions League!

Dan Posted 17 February 2016 Posted 17 February 2016 It does count less than the CL but I'm pretty sure it isn't by as much as you think. They've got 2 CL teams compared to our 3, and their two have drawn Real Madrid & Bayern. I think we'll be alright for another year. It's obviously Leicester who are going to ruin it, no-one else.
