Fox42 Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Happy to see him leave. Had a lot of potential but never seemed to fit in with our tactics, but when we did rely on him he did produce most of the time. Won't be the last time we'll see him in the Prem that's for sure.
dayday Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Though he is a good finisher,I'm struggling to think of any other part of his game he was good at.
Kinowe Soorie Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Though he is a good finisher,I'm struggling to think of any other part of his game he was good at. Scoring screamers with his boat race!

Leeds Fox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 I swear if a player moves to a different club on loan that he earns the exact amount to what he's currently on? It depends on the two clubs to decide what percentage of the wage they pay from both ends? Correct me if I'm wrong. Usually, but the player may demand a bit extra to go on loan. They can just as easily stay put, so a bit extra a week from the receiving club can be a sweetener.
Jimothy Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Usually, but the player may demand a bit extra to go on loan. They can just as easily stay put, so a bit extra a week from the receiving club can be a sweetener. Exactly. Didn't Man Utd pay Falcao a bit extra last season?
Leeds Fox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Exactly. Didn't Man Utd pay Falcao a bit extra last season? I expect so. I imagine they paid the full amount of his wages too.
Tielemans63 Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Thank christ, dreadful player Nah, can't agree with this. Bloody awful at times admittedly but he's a very competent Championship player and scored some important goals for us. 20 goals in 33 starts probably doesn't tell the whole story but you can't be a dreadful player with a record like that.
Xen Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 I agree with him going to Leeds. As for not moving for money he wanted plenty when we tried to get him on loan. Surely there aren't any money talks with the player for a loan deal? He was contracted to us so we were paying his wages, and any club we loaned him to would agree a contribution with us, not the player. The only possible discussions are around bonuses (goals/team performance), which wouldn't be huge anyway...

Indeed. He never got an extended run in the team and I think he has always been associated with our 2013 collapse. If you look at time it's taken Vardy to improve, Wood could have done the same but it never really worked out for him. As you said, he scored some very crucial goals for us, Yeovil and Burnley last year that just about took us over the line when we could have spluttered. Overall I'll remember him positively.
Freesolo Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 we got £5.75m for Lennon, 3.5m for Piper and 2.5m for Rowett. Lennon went for nearly 6 million 15 years ago that is a lot for a DM and must be close to 15 million today. he was a class act Lennon would fit into any Leicester City Greatest XI
ashby_fox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Chris wood signed for Leeds apparently according to this. @JacobsBen: CONFIRMED. @officialcwood has agreed terms with @LUFC (not @Wolves). I repeat, Leeds NOT Wolves!
Freesolo Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Good Luck to Him wherever he signs, he is young and knows he is way down the pecking order here so why waste your time when you can get first team football and a decent wage at a Championship Club. I wouldn't even care if he went to Forrest the lad deserves to be playing every week.
ashby_fox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 @JacobsBen: Wood, subject to medical, to sign 4y deal. Yet to get confirmation if fee is indeed 2.75m. 2m with more if @LUFC go up. So just 2m then...
MikeyT Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Fourth Official @FourthOfficial_ 2h2 hours ago Chris Wood will sign a 4 year deal with Leeds United this week
ScouseFox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 He never really fitted our new style, and then we bought what is effectively a much better version of him in ulloa. He was never gonna stay.
AKCJ Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 We've done the transfer equivalent of tying someones shoelaces together and then pushing them over to Leeds.
Kitchandro Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Though he is a good finisher,I'm struggling to think of any other part of his game he was good at.Agree with this. He needs to use his body strength a lot better if he is to make the step up to this level. Will do well back in the championship though.
Corky Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 £2.75 million is a great fee. Never really convinced by him with us despite some very encouraging spells and to make a transfer profit is fantastic business. Wish him well for the future.
Bettsj2 Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Agree with this. He needs to use his body strength a lot better if he is to make the step up to this level. Will do well back in the championship though. This. There was a game where he came on as sub, muscled a couple of defenders and set up Dyer who scored and that goal at Burnley away showed he was capable of doing it but for some reason, he just didnt apply himself in that way enough. If he wakes up and realised that, Leeds will have a goal machine.
Gerard Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Any confirmation the fee is £2.75m or is it "undisclosed"?
Vlad the Fox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 @JacobsBen: Wood, subject to medical, to sign 4y deal. Yet to get confirmation if fee is indeed 2.75m. 2m with more if @LUFC go up. So just 2m then... Surely we should be asking for more if Leeds stay up.
Vicki Vixen Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Good luck to him. Needs to get his confidence back. Those assuming he will do well in the Championship just by showing up should take a look at some of his loan appearances at Ipswich last year. He was well off the pace and didn't look up to Championship standards. Hopefully with an extended run in the team at Leeds and some patience from their management, he will be back to the form we signed him on the back of.
cullenfox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Sad to see him go but wish him all the best for the future. Leeds will absolutely ruin him though. Horrible club. Should have gone to a better championship team i.e. Wolves.
Pub breath Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Sad to see him go but wish him all the best for the future. Leeds will absolutely ruin him though. Horrible club. Should have gone to a better championship team i.e. Wolves. What, you mean like we ruined Max Gradel and Paddy Kisnorbo.
