kingpowerout Posted 29 June 2015 Posted 29 June 2015 Price always gets inflated when there are multiple clubs interested. Still can't believe it'd be more than £1.5M though.
The Bear Posted 29 June 2015 Posted 29 June 2015 Our local rag are reporting it at somewhere around £1m. I still think he'll go to Leeds personally to ensure more gametime.
AKCJ Posted 29 June 2015 Posted 29 June 2015 2.5m for him would be up there with Muzzy Izzet and Esteban Cambiasso as the best deal in our history.
act smiley Posted 29 June 2015 Posted 29 June 2015 Why is £2.5m huge? Top Championship players are going for big money these days, and while he's not really Premier League standard he's definitely top-end Championship material. Seems a pretty fair deal to me.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 29 June 2015 Posted 29 June 2015 2.5million is a great return of investment. Take away that & his wages then go get yourselves a back up centre back.
MikeyT Posted 29 June 2015 Posted 29 June 2015 Fourth Official @FourthOfficial_ 47m47 minutes ago Leicester City striker Chris Wood's has travelled to Leeds a undergo a medical with the club #LUFC #LCFC
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 29 June 2015 Posted 29 June 2015 Thank christ, dreadful player Top bantz.
Dan Posted 29 June 2015 Posted 29 June 2015 Good move for all parties. Will score goals in that league if given the service, but just don't expect him to play a big part in the build-up play. Am I right in saying this is the most we've sold a player for since Heskey?
STUHILL Posted 29 June 2015 Posted 29 June 2015 Good player but Championship is his level and he will do well if given enough game time. 2.5 million would be a great bit of business for us. Can see him being a solid 10-15 goals a season player in the Championship and good luck to him!
Wymsey Posted 29 June 2015 Posted 29 June 2015 Not the best club to be at, with the club changing manager every 2/3 months!
ALC Fox Posted 29 June 2015 Posted 29 June 2015 Not the best club to be at, with the club changing manager every 2/3 months! True. He could be on his way again come January.
Fox 4 Life Posted 29 June 2015 Posted 29 June 2015 I am struggling to see anywhere that actually states £2.5m. I don't think Leeds have much money to spend!

We got £3 million for David Connolly i think

Am I right in saying this is the most we've sold a player for since Heskey? we got £5.75m for Lennon, 3.5m for Piper and 2.5m for Rowett.
Nalis Posted 29 June 2015 Posted 29 June 2015 If Ross McCormack is worth £11m then £2.5m is a fair price for Chris Wood for Leeds and us.
NewquayFox Posted 29 June 2015 Posted 29 June 2015 I remember when we sold Connolly, my lad bought a City shirt at the start of the season with his name on the back and they refunded his money..... Up the City.....
Bryn Posted 29 June 2015 Posted 29 June 2015 Good deal for all parties. Think there's a lower Prem player in there. Think Leeds is actually a shit move for him compared to Wolves but there you go, more £££ for us.
The Bear Posted 29 June 2015 Posted 29 June 2015 I assume he'll be having a medical with us as well at some point then. I'm assuming they do them before the contract talks now in case it affects them.

I'm assuming they do them before the contract talks now in case it affects them. You assume a lot! Can see him going Leeds as I reckon he is guranteed more first team football there & Leeds are offering a better deal too by the sounds of it. Would be surprised if Wood decided to move to Leeds purely due to money though as he doesn't seem that type of guy.
The Bear Posted 29 June 2015 Posted 29 June 2015 I agree with him going to Leeds. As for not moving for money he wanted plenty when we tried to get him on loan.

I swear if a player moves to a different club on loan that he earns the exact amount to what he's currently on? It depends on the two clubs to decide what percentage of the wage they pay from both ends? Correct me if I'm wrong.
