ealingfox Posted 23 June 2015 Posted 23 June 2015 Couldn't see a previous thread. Surely he'll be off. Be good to get a decent fee. http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2015/06/23/wolves-back-in-for-leicesters-chris-wood/
Wymsey Posted 23 June 2015 Posted 23 June 2015 A decent club to reignite his career, so perhaps Sako might come here in return?
BoyJones Posted 23 June 2015 Posted 23 June 2015 If he goes, the best of luck to him, a very decent player. That goal at Burnley will live long in the memory.
dbtcity Posted 23 June 2015 Posted 23 June 2015 Sako is a free agent so won't have any baring on the deal, would be nice to get some money for wood though as he's clearly surplus to requirements here
matty98 Posted 23 June 2015 Posted 23 June 2015 he's still quite young, personally would like to see him go out on loan for a season and then re-evaluate
Bamba's Babes Posted 23 June 2015 Posted 23 June 2015 Unfortunately won't make the grade at Premier League level with us, not to say he won't elsewhere. Very much wanted him to succeed but appears to have limitations which are too big. Would be positive to get a fee rather than a loan or free next season.
theessexfox Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 Victim of our club's success in many ways, if he's a regular at a Champ side he could easily do well again.
Dan Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 Lets be honest, bar his first couple of games, he's been shite for us. I could forgive his lack of all-round game when he was banging the goals in but he's got very little about him in my opinion. No real first touch, no pace, no trickery. He can finish but that's literally it. He will fit a side that are willing to build their team around creating chances for him. Forget it if you think he's a target man. Being tall does not equate to being a target man. Taylor-Fletcher's a better target man. Don't wish him badly but he needs to go for all parties. Wouldn't it have been disappointing if someone had come to you after that Bristol City game and say you've seen almost half of Chris Wood's goals for Leicester already.
katieakita Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 Has to be best for all concerned if he moves on, wish the guy luck. A victim of the clubs success and ambition, when we were struggling to get out of the championship he was a very good squad player but we have improved, nice to be upgrading players rather than downgrading think Mark Bright replacing Gary Lineker, or Matt Jones replacing Neil Lennon, so let's wish him luck.
LCFC FOX Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 I still like him I do. Can still seeing him doing well in his career if he gets a bit of luck and restarts his career. Great finisher. It's just strange for a tall guy how bad he is in the air. The scenes after his goal at Burnley though! And let's not forget that goal at Watford

Finn Claw II Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 Take £1m and move on. Not sure we will get that given he only has 12 months left

I don't think he's been 'shite' You do like this certain players are amazing whilst others are shite, thing don't you. He's simply not a Premiership quality striker IMO. He's served a purpose, but we have moved to the next level so we need to offload Wood now. He's a decent Championship striker IMO. Nothing more. Take £1m and move on. Not sure we will get that given he only has 12 months left I'd be amazed if we got a million for Wood. I suspect he'll probably go out on loan again and run down his contract.
sylofox Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 Take £1m and move on. Not sure we will get that given he only has 12 months left I think more like we will let him go on a free so they pay his wage. Don't think they could pay for him and match his wage.
GLC Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 as well as England internationals Jamie Vardy and David Nugent as forward options. That will never get old!
Finn Claw II Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 They offered 1.25 million last year, so I'll be less this year. I'm not sure his wages will be massive. Hopefully the player himself wants the move to restart his career.
Rich77 Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 He's 23 and has played( loan or permanent) for 10 different clubs, I think that says a lot about him. I remember when he joined us he said he wanted to settle, can only assume his attitude is the problem?

Clearly has limitations to his game which will be more of the reason he has struggled over the last 2 seasons.

I don't think this has been one of Pearson's good buys, lets put it that way then. I honestly don't think he ever really served his purpose. I was really happy when we signed him but it became pretty clear by about April why he kept getting loaned out.
MrSpaM Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 His goal return actually hasn't been that bad considering he's barely started for us. His 11 in 19 at Millwall before he joined us proves he's got it at championship level. Be a good move for everybody involved.

Millwall built the team around Chris Wood I think that's what he needs at this time of his career, a team that will play to his strengths we all know he's got potential just needs first team football to show it. Unfortunately we couldn't offer him that!
